Okay, I'm back.

“Hello?”
“Hey mom.” You responded, sitting on the couch with the phone to your ear.
You heard a sigh of relief on the other side. “There you are! We were so worried about you!”
“Yeah, sorry I didn't call.” You told her. “Got lost in the whole moving thing.”
“We understand, you must be working really hard.” Your mother says. “Your father misses you, though he won't admit it openly. He's proud, though, I'm sure your grandfather is proud as well.”
“I hope so.” You sighed.
“So…” your mother seemed worried. “How is it over there? You aren't getting into trouble with any of the locals, are you?”
You are…But you decided not to tell her that.
“Its fine, actually.” You said. “Everyone is real nice, I started fitting in right away, when I get into one of the towns, that is.”
“That's good.” She sighed.
“I'm even in driving distance from the beach.” You went further. “An actual beach, not just a lake-side.”
“Well lucky you.” She said with a huff. “Don't go neglecting your duties with all that swimming.”
The two of you shared a laugh. After a few moments, your mother spoke again.
“You need to get out of the stone age and get yourself a cellphone.” She said.
“Why?”
“Well because you're always out and about now, what if I need to reach you? Everyone's got one, your father and I got ours while you were still in school.” Post too long. Click here to view the full text.
