That's an insult to Aqua, at least she has some sort of character trait.
I hate this show so much, every episode is OP MC is Amazing in the most shameless way possible that makes the lame attempts at humor or romance they tack on feel incredibly out of place.
Of course normalfags eat it up.

Objectively speaking, given the art, worldbuilding and characters of the show, it's no less than an 7.5 to 8 out of 10. It's clearly far above the average for the last decade of anime.

waiting to see how it pans out for magic show. OPM solved this problem by not focusing on saitama and letting the henchmen fight the A-rank heroes and spending a lot of time worldbuilding (showing how the hero association functions, how the ranking system for the heroes manifests rivalries and disharmony). in contrast, magic sword gary stu is OP but no one else really even comes close, so they don't even have a speedwagon to comment on how strong MC is during a fight.

I feel the same way. At least I haven't seen most of the older, good stuff so my backlog is about as large as large gets. I have almost no desire to watch any new media these days, let alone seasonal shows. S2 has a shit execution even ignoring S1, except for a few moments. Pacing is all over the place, devolves into a slideshow way too often, character art goes off model constantly, camera zooms in so close that you can't see properly, cuts to a different view and/or blurs the screen every time it's supposed to show the most important points in action (probably so they can avoid actually animating it properly), soundtrack is shitty and unfitting, and the whole graphical style is "dirty" and strains your eyes...

I've never seen an anime go off the rails like this one. It started out promising with betrayal, a meToo accusation and an edgy tone. The protagonist sets out along on his quest, he intimidates shopkeepers, buys a slave and is set on revenge. But after a few episodes, it's like someone took over from the original writer. The guys forgets about the roastie, risks his life for the people that ostracized him. And the companions that turned their back on him are retconned from being obviously corrupt and complicit, to simply being incredibly, unbelivably stupid. He also teams up with a talking chicken that is guest-starring from some kids-show. The other party member, a raccoon girl, is so sweet and mild-mannered that she has no hard feelings towards the slave trader who would have had her die alone in a cage. She's even happy to trade with him while there are other slaves in the back room. The townspeople that didn't want to have a monster-girl kid eat in their restaurants in the first few episodes and were fine with monster-children slaves on the streets, accept her fully without any complaint in the later ones. They even gush over her. Suddenly everyone, including the king and nobility, hates slavery. But if everyone in power loathes it, why is it both legal and conspicuous? None of this shit makes any sense.
And the king and princess roastie have no good motive for their scheme. They've succeeded fully; everything has pretty much gone to plan for them, and all they've accomplished is screwing over one of the heroes that their kingdom depend on. They're in a life or death scenario and are playing the dumbest of games. Really, what was their goal? To make it known in the medieval-tier fantasy kingdom that the princess is no longer pure and chaste? How the fuck is that in their interest? To spare on expenses from not having to give him rewards? It's the damn king. Even after the shield hero has proven himself useful and strong, they double down and make no effort to mend ties.
I gave up around the tenth episode. Does it get better?

The issue is how self-defeating the actions of the king and princess are. They summoned the heroes as a last ditch attempt to halt a demon invasion. If the heroes fail, they're boned. If they really have an itch for some sadism and power-abuse, why target the shield hero instead of kidnapping some townspeople for their torture chamber in the dungeon?

The series peaks with Raphtalia (tanuki girl) talking the shield hero down from the rage shield the first time. It's all down hill from there. Those first few episodes or chapters depending on which medium you are using for the story are great and the rest is flip flopping between mediocre to bad. Is it worth watching is your real question. Depends on how much you want a good story or just something to watch. It's mindlessly watchable but just barely. It's not good though.

Is anyone still watching Shoumetsi Toshi? I generally have a hard time watching mysterys week by week but I really liked Boogiepop last season and this was also /x/ so I figured I would try it and so far I'm regretting it. I was doing ok and then there was that random idol episode that didn't have anything to do with other stuff and I kind of lost track of a lot of details because they weren't mentioned for 2 weeks. I sincerely attempted to enjoy this show. But after he decapitated a fellow student; yeah, He was a demon or whatever, only half though i think He said...For a Gary Stu like Shin, with him pulling all sorts of Magic out of His ass left and right...I just think He could have found a method to subdue the guy. The only reason I give a shit is because it showed earlier in the EP just how much his Parents cared about Him and Loved him. Then just out of nowhere, later on that day you find out your darling Son was brutally decapitated while under the influence of manipulation from a 'big bad' Demon~y dude.
And to pour salt on the wound, not a single one of the Classmates gave a SINGLE SHIT! Not ONE! My mouth kinda went agape when I realized that they could care less; He changed, He immediately stopped being our Classmate. And Shin is being Paraded all around the Town as a Hero among Heroes. If I was Shin, I would have went straight to His Parents and tried My best to console them in any manner I could, and if they asked something serious of Me...for taking their cherished Son in such a manner, I'm gonna do it.

Why watch an anime that tries its hardest to replicate real life? It's so pointless, when a music anime hires a bunch of shitty artists for their show when you can literally watch a live concert instead. I just don't get it. Same with that Kono Oto anime, the most impressive shots are just traced from real life.
There's nothing Kino about it. The lyrics are bad (so much for working with English artists on your music) And it's not funny either. It would be funny if it happened in real life, but pointless in some no-stakes set-up.
In fact, it was funnier when the Beatles did it. And they did it better at that. In your webm, if it was real, the mic would've been cut in 5 seconds and it wouldn't even have made it on-air.

I love that show, easily among aots candidates for me. It's more... humble than other shows, but what it sets out to do, it does well.
Other contenders would be (not) average girl isekai. Maybe book loli. I really like that show too, but it's a bit more... moe? cutesy? than I'd like at times - kinda like what devil loli show did, but that one was really extreme, here it's mostly tolerable. Not that it can't be used at all, but it needs to be used sparingly enough that it doesn't cheapen the whole thing.
Shinchou Yuusha and Kemono Michi probably too.

I've mainly been watching Book Loli Isekai, Dr. Stoner, and Boku no Pico Academia. Book loli is my favorite this season. She dropped her spaghetti too much in the beginning though, so it's not really convincing that no one but Lutz finds her behavior suspicious. Still much better than Dr. Stoner, which has a huge gaping plothole with the Ishigami village backstory. Is it just me, or are the facial styles for female characters in Dr. Stone suspiciously similar to Yoshu Ohepe's hentai? I have a soft spot for shows about bringing inventions to societies that lack them.
I tried watching Overprepared Isekai and Furfag Isekai. Overprepared felt like it was very one-note and I dropped it in two episodes, becauae the joke got old that fast. I dropped Furfag Isekai in one or two episodes, can't recall which, because it seemed like it was aimed at barafags, what with the MC molesting male furries beastmen. Also his head didn't match his body. It would be better if it matched or if he always kept his mask on.

There's nostalgia goggles and there's just low quality shit. OPMS2 was terrible. The animation quality was bad, and only marginally improved by the end of the show. And they decided to follow the revised story drawn by Murata instead of the original story drawn by ONE. The revised story is shit. It sucks the humor out of a comedy focused story to replace it with unironic generic battle shonenshit. Also, everything >>102299 said.

The familiar only has very little dialogue. At least that's the impression I'm getting at this stage of the show. Really, it's nothing too special, just cute girls doing things, with somewhat original MC gimmick. I've only ever watched in on /animu/ stream, I think, which colours the impression somewhat, but it's pretty fun IMO.

I don't want to jinx it but I'm kind of happy with the handling of MHA. I like that they take time off instead of trying to make it something that shows every week which keeps the pace reasonable. shinchou yuusha - thought it'd be another garbage isekai with one gimmick replayed to the point of annoyance but the characters really make it work. notaqua getting bullied and all of the exploitable faces made it anime of the season
mugen no juunin - immortal - the setting felt very real and I appreciate they went into the reasoning behind the revenge, as in what fem mc really wanted to accomplish with it and how far she was willing to go. kind of annoying how the mc manages to blow it every fight.
>what did you hate?
no guns life - too much deus ex machina, but that really comes with the territory when it comes to cyberpunk
oresuki - only good part was the bench meme. the girls were cute but something about it just feels off. maybe its that there are too many girls and not enough screentime. maybe it's that the MC is so bland and half-heartedly scummy (but that's part for the course with haremshit)

Two shows I'm definitely going to try out are Plunderer and Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi. Both shows are action, adventure, comedy, fantasy, and NOT isekai. I'm expecting stupid anime shit but fun stupid anime shit.

There shouldn't be a second season but not for the reasons you listed. I really should stop watching anime that can't fucking deliver. That ending wasn't the issue, just the filler in-between. How is it selling? The whole 12 episodes felt like they were written by different people with different priorities. I'm all for unresolved human drama but there was too little here for me to care. All in all I thought it was nice. Very lifelike. Anyone else got incest vibes near the end? How she was getting divorced to live with glasses' big brother? Was that just awkwardly delivered? Overall my AOTS on virtue of it being the only show I finished unless Whore of Babylon manages to suddenly become good it will stay that way.

Spoken like a true tranny, but where is the actual reply? You only humiliated yourself, bringing things down to the personal level while avoiding the subject. You felt the sting when you were told that your reasoning is a base argument by gamers, eh? So you lashed out angrily. Must have hit a nerve.
Again: it's only ever found in gaming reviews, that games can be safely dropped when not immediately found enjoyable - because later, you will only get more of the same. You cannot apply it to different medium, and as soon as you will try to, it will be a telltale sign for everyone to mock you as a shitty vidya kid. Get mad some more.

Darwin's was edgefest, not even worth contintuing.
Koisuru Asteroid is typical low effort CGDCT project made by Doga Kobo in the typical lazy way that they are notorious lately. No humor, no cuteness, shitty interactions, and poor visuals without fanservice.
Somali is another oh-so-heartwarming and ascended father-daughter series, where the loli could basically be a boy and nothing would be changed without any trace of trying to appeal to older or male audience.
MagiReco is budget Madoka, but even worse, basically the shittiest kind of gachashit.
But that's basically what I expect of seasonal anime nowadays.

The only way Koisuru Asteroid will be worth watching is if they do one of three things:
1) It becomes actual yuri rather than yuri bait.
2) There's plot progression (which won't happen since it's CGDCT).
3) They actually go outside camping to see the stars, which won't happen either.
Pic related is the light pollution in Japan, as you can see it's shit in terms of being able to see the stars. Green is at level 4, yellow is 5, red 6-7, white 8-9, the light blue (the mountains) are level 2-3.

I never said you can't give a slightly underwhelming series another chance or two.
I said that if a series is outright shit and totally unenjoyable, even spiteful for you after one episode, no reason to bother further.

Back when we watched a crapton of movies for cinema class, we used to have a gem in the rough philosophy. No matter how shitty a film was, you could expect a good 5 mins eventually. Because all things start small from a core idea, which is later developed and ruined. It's a kind of battle weary realism that lets you accept that yes, most of a series is crap, but hey wait for that cool episode.

the concept is interesting, I'll give it that. whether it's good or bad will really depend on how the puzzles are presented; do they give you enough information to solve it yourself if you watch closely or is the super gifted mc going to solve it on his own and we're just passengers along for the ride? ep 1 had presented the dead girl as whole while everyone else in that virtual world was fragmented so we did have enough to assume that she was the killer in disguise. big plot twist at the end of the episode though, did not expect that girl to be dead already. 40 years away from retirement, she almost made it; so sad.

I don't like it; I think the two little shits killed it for me, or maybe the weird magic system that has incantations that are too long, or maybe the gary stu overpowered but underachieving MC.

Hold on, big boy who don't afraid of nuttin. I went through all the splatter movies of the 80s but I can still notice when a story has a sense for anguish and the morbid. It doesn't take a drop of blood nor a bodycount, to make a story dark: it's enough to have characters scarred and haunted by their actions, without a safe return to the status quo.

Interesting in that it shows idols from the perspective of a female fan rather than a prospective idol joining the club/group, and showcases some of the realities of what it's actually like.
>Hatena Illusion
I like to give Chinese anime a go but this one was pretty uninspired. Will give the second episode ago because it wasn't painful or anything but it'll have to do a bit more for me to keep me interested. The fact that the mangaka died before finishing it makes the prospect of an anime original ending pretty exciting.
>Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun

>Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita

>Darwin's Game
Seems mostly trash but the first episode hit the ground running so hard I'll give it a second go to see if they can make me see past the edgy shounen stuff.
>Koisuru Asteroid
Seems like the upper tier of CGDCT and I like astronomy and overt yuri, but I suspect that these two things will never be delved into.
>Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!

What you said was a mixture of blatantly false and irrelevant. The movie was a nice bonus but the show itself was done after 12 episodes. It was also only one example, there are plenty of self-contained 12 episode shows. Off the top of my head I can think of Ano Hana, Tsuki ga Kirei, Ping Pong, Tatami Galaxy, Kemono Friends, Barakamon, Elfen Lied, Kanata no Astra, Robihachi, Sarazanmai, Lain, Shingeki no Bahamut, and Gridman.
There are also plenty of satisfying 12 episode shows without much of an overarching story such as almost any comedy or slice of life show. Then there's more episodic or arc-based shows like Space Dandy and Monogatari. There are even 90-minute movies which have the equivalent of 4-5 episodes to conclude which manage this perfectly. It's definitely possible.

Generating sufficient thrust would be in a vacuum and low gravity situations. At most you'd be able to slowly push yourself (density of air is low and particles are too light) not to mention you meet air resistance which slows you back down again.

Do you mean Uchi Musume was too plotty or they did what I suggested and avoided being too plotty? I haven't seen it.
Anyways they clearly set themselves up with some heavy themes. I think they could develop those and keep the emphasis on art and worldbuilding but if they try to cover a lot of ground and develop a lot of characters or make a lot of stuff happen it would detract.
But whatever they do I'm interested. Even the moe moments were enjoyable, even though that's not really my thing.

raised more questions about the morality of suicide. from the legal sense, it isn't illegal to commit suicide, it's illegal to assist suicide; but those who fail to commit suicide should be institutionalized until they are rehabilitated because failure is in my opinion more a cry for help than anything else considering how many ways there are of guaranteeing success.

I am saddened and I want to complain. I saw clips of some anime series while browsing youtube so I looked it up, found 2 seasons, 4 specials, 1 movie and I pirated them. I started watching only to be greeted with the unsettling visage of a "Netflix Originals" logo. Instead of turning it off an deleting everything I had downloaded I foolishly continued watching. To my surprise, the anime was uncensored. Apparently, I got the Blu-Ray release and to my knowledge it hasn't been fucked with. So I watch through everything I have, but the Season 2 ending is inconclusive leaving many things undone.
So I look it up again and find Season 3 is ongoing, but to my great disappointment only 13 episodes have aired so far and apparently Season 3 is all censored now. I don't know the details, but heard something about airing during daytime and a different studio being involved. The only way to see it properly is if it gets an uncensored Blu-Ray released. So far, blood has been altered from red to white and I'm afraid to keep watching to see what happened to the ecchi content. I am very sad.

The only thing that supports this is the short montages that we've seen of him dying various ways a couple of times.
But the way I imagine it is that there are a lot of relatively short deaths and reboots that are off-camera. But that it only shows the ones that advance the plot. Like in the tower one the short montage bit at one point made it seem that he wasn't living longer in a linear way. But he also might be getting smarter or better at it as well, not sure if I believe that yet.

Black Clover has been pretty good for the last year, really almost 6 cour if you go back to the Water Temple. But this is just not a good antagonist for how hyped the fight was. Bizarre choice for a voice actor and he looks ridiculous when he doesn't have a body. Yeah, this part was a slog for me when reading the manga too. It felt crammed together, and kind of anticlimactic. Like, forced? The animation would make it better if its wasn't for all of the QUALITY, but overall it's just a standard shonen overly drawn out fight with a secret boss whose powers and backstory seem hamfisted. I think the current arc will help explain some things, but even that seemed rushed, like they needed an excuse for a timeskip right away to make the characters stronger, and introduce power levels. The thing with the Wizard King was forced too. I'm just getting serious One Piece vibes. At least I feel the author of BK has a vision for the story - everything seems consistent - but he is glossing over too much lately.

It's too bad because it seems to be the climax of almost all of the characters and the majority of the worldbuilding introduced so far, what does the Wizard King add to this arc? There could have been a whole different large-scale arc about what happened to him. It almost seems like this was meant to wrap up the whole series. Anything that comes after would have to be either smaller scale or introduce entirely different everything. Or I guess the 2 guys that escaped from magic jail.
I've been impressed with the quality of animation for a lot of the show, but the quality for this fight has been really bad. I really don't understand why they're tanking it so bad.
I think it'd be a good time for the anime to take a break after this arc. Do you recommend picking up the manga from where we're at now or was there anything good that the anime skipped out on?
How do you mean OP vibes, the pace?

So, as far as plot, they start exploring the goings-ons with the other kingdoms as well as trying to elaborate more on demons, so natural progression. They also expanded on Yuno's backstory a bit but Asta is still a mystery. Overall it's content rich. I've never had a problem with the anime other than the animation quality - it has even included some side story stuff from the LN not from the manga, so there's no real reason to rush unless you're itching to know what happens. As for mentioning One Piece, I mean they'll inherently share shonen commonalities, and I'm not referring to "I wanna be the pirate/wizard king!" or timeskip training or what have you, but rather the endless chain of desperate fights that just show off a lot of cool abilities but don't actually amount to much in terms of plot. I like how BK avoided it under the ocean with beast guy, and every other fight, though intense, has essentially amounted to a battle, and not a chain of battles.

hey guys can you help me recall the name of some anime I watched:
It was some isekai shit, but not too obnoxious - a group of people were clearly transported in a fantasy world, but they had no memory of anything before that. Then they had to join an adventurer's guild and pick fantasy classes and such since they couldn't make a living otherwise. It was a bit on the serious side with how they had to start small and kill easy mobs and so on. I think it went with them going into some goblin cave or something at the end of the season, and managed to kill a big bad goblin. Also what stood out to me was the art, I think some backrounds looked like they were watercolor...

I've read like 5 volumes of pic related a while back since it was on the top rankings everywhere I looked. Is it just me or is it not very good. The one-note cast doesn't seem to be getting development any time soon and honestly hunting dragons without any struggle or creativity is not the most interesting to animate either. tl;dr manga still sucks

I don't really remember but I think the more hardcore stuff is. But it's certainly the highlight of this season, not that there's much competition.
I still have to finish watching Babylon, but the inconsistent release schedule kinda fucked with the flow, and now I'm 7-8 episodes behind

I have to admit this show feels like its something special and its not even 4 months into the next decade here. I have to admit i do enjoy the creativity, the imagination worlds, and the fact it keeps my attention than doing the same old stuff. Nice art design and kudos to the attention to background work and direction.
Next up is Madoka Magia Record and i will be watching Diebuster on the side. Cant wait to see how this goes. Maybe everyone can give an update on what they are caught up with or what they like and think about everything.

also these two get bonus point for not having highschool aged members of the cast
>Darwin's game
a bit average so far, it has the potential to get really bad
>Draon(whale) hunters anime
dropped this, it's too sugary, idyllic, and feels fake; a missed opportunity
>Plunderer
pretty bad but I watched it cause I have nothing better to do, next ep should have a decent fight scene so at least that may be good
that's what I've seen so far, overall this season feels pretty weak to me

I don't like to admit it but I found my first good chink anime to watch. It feels good to watch something with both a decent plot and actual animation once more. The exposition is dealt with quickly, the episodes aren't all forced to be 20 minutes long so nothing feels dragged out or rushed. It's great.

Other way around. /animu/ had a hostile takeover of /a/.
/a's meidos and their bootlickers now are in exile to another site.
The BO of /animu/ is now the BO of /a/ and there was a saga about the meidos bitching about how their board is taken away from them and given to /animu/.

So the whole episode was an allegory of a homosexual relationship, but the author did not want to represent it as such to ward off the perverts so he did not put any sexual scenes but nevertheless he could not avoid putting the characters in a room, both naked, to make see and clarify the type of connection that both had. Tell me, am I wrong?

What do you think of this manga? I dislike the MC, her personality seems horrible and the worst. The downside is that they don't give us any insight to empathize with her. Not to mention, they portray the Japanese as horrible and vindictive people. one of the worst I've read so far. I don't know what the Japanese personality really is like but I honestly hope it's not like the one represented in this manga.
