First episode was like a mini movie in it's own right, pretty exciting but the rest of the show will probably be repetitive shounenshit of varying quality.

Yeah, this will be one of those 52 episodes shows that seem to run forever. You like the first 5-6 episodes then you stop watching but later you have to catch up because you run out of new stuff to watch.

Not claiming this one has 52 episodes. It's the type of show that gets so many episodes. Also I wouldn't rule it out. The manga has a lot of volumes.

Why start of your anime with boring fanfic when the manga's start, and art is perfect as it is? The anime managed to fuck up the author's intentions in a single episode. Another anime that needn't be made that will only attract the lowest common domino anime-only shitters.

So many episodes that...? You didn't finish your sentence.

Haven't read the manga, so I'm diving into it fresh. And I liked the first episode, seems like a fun premise. Usually, with long running manga, they oversimplify some things in order to wrap most of things up in a few seasons. Unless they plan on making a battle shounen anime out of this.

Why are you guys talking about long-running shonen and 52 episodes when the first episode was rushed fanfic-tier with netflix-era gonzo production values?

It's been holding pretty good so far. I'll probably stick with this one.

are the animorphs supposed to be an allegory for soldiers with PTSD in general? surely they won't derail the "monsters have no place in a peaceful society" narrative they've been pushing with some weird vampire guy and his loli right?
