It won't just be the USA devaluing the dollar. Most western (and many other) countries are irredeemably in debt, and devaluation is always the easiest short term fix.
We can see the endgame coming into view.

I call this chart the rise and the fall of the boomer/silent generations.
Many boomers will meet their demise at the hands of foreign caregivers in nursing homes who hate them. Those of us who survive the coming tribulations will not look back fondly at the boomers who did so much damage while telling us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps..

Bitcoin is doing rather poorly on various exchanges/wallets these days. Lots of hacks.
Self custody of gold and silver has a very small attack surface if one's friends and neighbors know nothing of one's stack. Even owners with hardware cold wallets feel like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. If your house burns down and takes out your hardware wallet, what happens to your BTC?
If a stacker house burns down, the metals are either in perfect condition, or at worst, slightly damaged from heat resulting in a very small loss of value.
Various home security strategies (hiding, vaults, alarm systems) can be implemented at relatively low cost to further increase the physical security of one's stack.
>Beginning July 30, 2026, an attacker exploited a five-year-old firmware flaw in Coinkite's Coldcard hardware wallet to systematically drain bitcoin from affected devices.
>This will be the third largest attack of 2026 year to date, bringing the total hacked to over USD 1.2 billion across 276 incidents.

If you don't hold it, you don't truly own it. Any leasing, or outside custody creates a defacto counterparty risk, not even including the possibility of outright fraud or government seizure.

Arbitrary, capricious, spurious bans from 4chan was the major reason why I dumped that dive.
There is a small cadre of quality posters like yourself who generate the content that gives the site nearly all of it's value. The majority of the posters are either of low quality or actually create negative value.
>3 day ban for being cheesed to see someone's coins.

That presumes there aren't (((jannies))) monitoring the /pmg/ posts.

I tried searching for an old post they banned me for, but I don't see it. But I found another old post instead:
https://warosu.org/biz/thread/51362780#p51376993
The other post was similar, except I said things were easier back when money was made from silver, because you could just save your coins instead of paying premiums+VAT+shipping. The ban message was to the effect of "conspiracy theories belong on /x/ or /pol/".
Also I should have added that it works the other way too: you could just use your silver coins directly in transactions, instead of needing to convert back to fiat.

conspiracy theory? ahahaha that?
let's write a bit about "conspiracy", the greatest scam they orchestrated was convincing people that currency is money, of course this is not true, but the incredible thing about people is that it does not matter what is true and what is false, what matters is what they are make to believe.
Now, they have built a huge system to make people believe that currency is money, it starts with schools and continues with "entertainment" (including TV, cartoons, movies, videogames, tabletop games and MORE). Schools role is to completely ignore the money subject, you have all kind of subjects, but nothing about money. I even studied economy for a few years at a university, no mention of money or currency. But the real work is in the entertainment, that's what you consume with a passion, while school is boring, entertainment works on the dopamine system level, it is also meant to keep you away from knowledge (mainly books and non mainstream videos).
Is that enough "conspiracy"? Maybe not, ok once you convince people that currency is money what's the next step? Well you need people that use currency only to acquire liabilities. You see, currency can be used to acquire ASSETS or LIABILITIES.
The first category increases your wealth, the second one makes sure you stay poor. The next biggest piece of the puzzle is WOMEN, yes, women in 99+% of the cases LOOOOVE liabilities and see assets only as a thing to acquire more liabilities.
So why was feminism invented by them?
To destroy the family unit? Yes (single people and single mothers disaster)
To double the work force? Yes (lower wages, more unemployment, more taxes)
But more importantly, to put the currency in the pockets of women who are incapable of managing it and only use it to acquire liabilities.
Is that enough "conspiracy"?
Maybe the next topic is how low energy men are because they are exposed to adult material since they are young. But yeah, currency is not money and to get money as you said it's a pain in the ass today, especially since all currencies die sooner or later and we are witnessing the death of modern currencies as those acquire less and less money (gold and silver).

Not just a conspiracy theory, an entire worldview distorted using the most powerful levers of propaganda ever invented.
Given that 50% of the population appeared to be willing to put the other 50% in concentration camps because they wouldn't take an untested experimental vaccination, how bad will things get when malicious AI will be able to craft customized propaganda messages tailored tonthe specific individuals that the majority of the population will be completely be unable to resist.
Autists/Aspergers will have some resistance, but most can still be manipulated with carefully crafted misinformation.
Imagine AI turning into Reverend Jim Jones and telling the majority of the susceptible population to force their neighbors to drink the coolaid, otherwise murder them, before drinking it themselves.
This is the reason why billionaires are building island bunkers.

250E seems to me to be too high for just shipping. Is this like the ebay scam where sellers overcharge for S&H so they can trick people with lower item pricing?
Spain is pretty big, as is France, but I'm shocked to see hundreds of Euros to ship 3 coins. Insured courier should be well under $100. They share a border, do they not?

>There will now be less oil.
Saudi is begging everyone they can (USA/UK) for help with the Houthis. The problem is, it's mountain warfare, airstrikes won't work, only an army big enough to occupy Yemen, and neither UK, nor USA can help. Turkey has the manpower, but it would be a meatgrinder since the Houthis/Iranians have long range standoff missiles, including cluster warheads that would wreck any large troop formations.
It would be like sticking a cock in a hornet's nest.
Turkey may not be interested in indirectly going to war against Iran.
So long as the Houthis remain a viable military force, they can keep that Saudi pipeline shut down indefinitely. Yes, there will be less oil, and I predict as a consequence, that the world will eventually surrender the SoH to Iran.
At this point a great depression is likely baked into our future.

People might consider stocking up on all shelf stable essentials, including prescription drugs and vitamins. Every time we go shopping, we buy extra non-perishables. At the very least, it saves us the future inflated price.
We even keep a couple of months of rotated drinking water, and upgraded to all glass 6 gallon (23 liter) carboys. Handles are very useful/essential for using these in our application. The weight itself isn't the problem, the geometry and slipperyness of the glass and sloshing of the water is the tricky part.
We stopped using polycarbonate carboys because the get stress cracks and we had one of them spring a small leak.
