I just want to cry. I truly hate my Chinese identity. Working here, if you're Chinese, they expect you to endure hardship and work tirelessly, but only give you a meager salary. Yet if you're a foreigner, they go out of their way to please you, just to show off the dignity of a "great nation." I haven't felt a trace of warmth. I hate my identity—or rather, I hate my Chinese blood, my yellow skin, my black hair. All these traits make me feel like a servant.
