CAREFUL BEHAVIOR WITH REGARD TO MALWARE
First, turn on showing all file extensions in Windows settings. Keep in mind that some malware distributors use deceptive double extensions like ".mp3.exe". Only the last one counts. Since EXE icons are read from the file itself, the file by its icon could also misleadingly appear as an audio file.
If you downloaded an executable file to handle it specifically (like for uploading it on VirusTotal), you're already in danger, because you're just one accidental Enter press or double click away from executing it.
Since a file with any file extension could be an executable, which just won't normally be executed, be susouthern beanmanious if a file doesn't work in your player. You could upload it to VirusTotal and take a look at it in a hex editor (e.g., check whether it starts with "MZ", google for more information). A program like TrID can identify file types by file content (I already had MP3 files with ".ogg" file extension).
If you use JDownloader for unpacking archives, I'd recommend editing the unpacker settings to not unpack files with executable file extensions. Should you see an executable in JDownloader (not in an archive), remove it right away before handling it in file explorer.
After downloading, check the file types with the details view in file explorer and sort by file type. Pay attention to every file type change in that column and the corresponding file extensions, because there could be a single executable. If you downloaded a folder structure, you can search for the file pattern "*" first to have it all in one list (don't forget details view).
Be extra careful when deleting executables. If possible, avoid coming near them to prevent accidental execution. You can, e.g., choose "Open command window here" in the context menu of the folder that directly contains the executable and run a command like "del *.exe".
I think you should also be prepared to cut off you computer's power as fast as possible in case you ever run an executable from such unsafe sources. Every tenth of a second counts to prevent encryption of your files. After that, you can't run that OS installation anymore.

So i just listened to Captured (remastered) followed by Captured Tongue (i have an oral fixation) with the idea being the former would help with the triggers to put me under for the latter.
