All I can say is that my Firefox works. The trouble with these problems is that there's a 100 things that it could be and it's gonna be pot-luck if someone suggests a/the solution. You haven't told about the FF version, your config/security settings on FF and on the computer, what OS you're using, what VPN company and/or client program you're using (eg openvpn or wireguard), how your DNS works with and without the VPN. The list is virtually endless. The best I can suggest is that you try changing things ONE STEP AT A TIME and see if anything makes a difference. Remember to revert the change before trying something else. If nothing else, it'll be a learning experience.

Might be google's "Browse safely" bs. Try a test, disable it in FF, exit FF, restart FF, try again. google has a history of issuing false positives that tend to block pirate type sites but they usually remedy it within a week+ (Microsoft is notorious for this bs, even blocking half open net sockets in tcp.sys of Win XP to halt torrenting back in the day; which a simple 1 byte edit to that file quickly fixed).
