There’s a good bit of chatter about a “new” bill to ban porn. It’s this same senators third time trying this. My guess is that he’s doing it out of morality to solidify the religious voting block rather than as an issue of mens mental health.
The wording of the bill is based on the Miller test (look up Miller vs California, 1973), which sort of outlines what’s obscene and what isn’t. That standard is subjective due to “community standards” and “serious value.” A better ruling would have been to say that all recordings of genital stimulation for erotic pleasure are illegal, but apparently fucking in camera can be “art.”
I doubt it will pass, mostly because nothing ever happens.
