f46d8a No.13635850

1. I am conscious

2. Qualia exist and our not physical. Therefore the observer/consciousness is not physical.

3. The vertiginous question is a valid question. It asks, out of all the bodies in the world, why is my consciousness/observer in this body?

4. Other people are conscious. If they weren’t conscious, there would have to be something very special about who/what my body is and why this specific body is the only one with consciousness, and as far as I can tell there are many bodies like my body.

5. This leads us to three general possibilies: every body is part of the same consciousness (open individualism), there is only one consciousness that goes from one body to the next (egocentric presentism), or everyone has a separate consciousness.

6. The latter possibility is the most accepted in society and the only one that is possible. The two former possibilities are impossible because they cannot answer the vertiginous question. Open individualism isn’t possible because although it claims that there’s nothing special about my body, there is still the illusion that my body is special, and it can’t answer why that is. Out of all bodies in the universe, why is it only that this body is special? If all bodies were truly equally part of consciousness, there wouldn’t be any special bodies. Next, egocentric presentism can’t answer this question because, without a God, it would require some equation to determine where consciousness goes after a body dies. The problem with this is that there are many possible such equations, and there’s no reason to prioritize one over the other, therefore none are prioritized. The only exception I can think of for this is that the equation that consciousness goes in order of simplicity of the body. However, this is not possible because there are some bodies with equal simplicity. For example, the entire universe and body could be the exact same except for one of the bodies having an inverted color scale qualia structure. I can’t think of any equation that goes by simplicity or any equation in general that can decide which body consciousness goes to here.

7. From now on, I’m going to define the soul/consciousness/the observer as a structure of qualia. What I mean by this, is that, similar to Tegmark’s mathematical universe hypothesis, an infinite number of qualia exist in possibility. In math, there is nothing special about our number system, there could be an infinite number of them. As well, it is impossible to define a number without referencing another number or numerical concept. These numbers only exist in relating to each other. Also, there are an infinite number of qualia structures, that can only be defined by relating to each other. The reason we see the color red when we see an apple is that it is part of our consciousness that whenever we see the specific wavelength, we see red.

8. Your consciousness/qualia doesn’t affect your body (philosophical zombies are conceptually possible [not actually though because of #4])

8. Not all possible qualia are on a perfect scale. What I mean by this, is that the T.V. at volume 30 could feel loud, then at 20 it could feel quiet, then at 10 it could possibly feel loud again. The fact that in my day-to-day life, there are zero instances of unexpected qualia (e.g. when I scream in pain but feel good qualia, or vice versa), shows that this soul/qualia structures was chosen for this specific body, and not a soul with bizarre qualia structures. This answers the vertiginous question. In fact, the only way to answer the vertiginous question is to have a creator choose which soul goes into which body. A formula can’t go this, because a formula can’t understand qualia (they are undefinable). Therefore, an all-knowing God that can tell the difference between all qualia chose this specific soul.

OP, I'm sorry but you need to phrase your thread into a question like:

>what are the political implications of God existing?

otherwise it's not political and you will only generate a handful of replies as your thread sits in the catalog for months

I don't think so…if you were conscious, you would know that the dispute about the existence and non-existence of God is a philosophical dead end…Some cannot prove 100% regularity, others cannot prove 100% irregularity of phenomena.

2)Qualia is entirely based on our physical features and is dependent and shaped by them.

No physiology = no qualia.

Cause - effect.

3) Because you have gained a critical mass of consciousness… consciousness is a gradational thing

4) Seriously? Ahahaha…if these bastards were conscious, we would live in a utopia, not in a barnyard.

5) Don't even dare to talk about REAL individualism…you don't realize what it is…it is first of all the ability of an individual to implement free will by going against the axiomatics of the existing world…for this you need to be ethically and philosophically above the concepts of God or Atheism.

7) Soul is generally a term of religious autists, which describes the action of consciousness.

8) Despite your reasoning, you are one of these philosophical zombies.

8) ->9) in general, there are so many of these concepts of God that you can eat them with your ass…there are so many of them.

God is everything that exists - even a stone is God, God is an uncle in heaven who ignores cause and effect, God is a spaghetti monster…etc.

We are all a brotherhood of the afflicted.

Your idea makes complete sense, certainly contains the answer for the spiritual hunger most humans have.

You will need to address the religious aspect, people will always want a step by step process. Look at the talmud for example, do you think these people just drop it and walk away?

Imagine what Socrates had envisioned of the perfect world. It was so far out there that Plato had to finish his work by the great noble lie, writing his book laws and promoting a messianic philosophy at the school of alexandria leading to proto Christianity.

Have you tried willfully creating a cult? With enough followers it's certainly possible.

I can imagine it now
