It's actually really simple. There are only a finite amount of land and resources on this planet. Consider everything is valued in dollars. The more dollars that are created out of thin air, the more dollars it will take to buy up resources and land, thus lowering the purchasing power of the dollar. The more dollars in circulation the less purchasing power the dollar itself has. The amount of resources and land always stays the same. It's the dollar that is being manipulated to purchase the land and resources.
A mathematical example for any kid to easily understand: burgers. Let's say we have a total of 10 burgers and 10 dollars. Each burger would cost $1. But if we have 10 burgers and $100, each burger would cost $10. Consider the same happening in a much more complex global market place with different currencies competing with vast amounts of land and resources, but when it comes to hard math, it's basically the same math. The more currency created and distributed the higher the cost for land and resources. The amount of land and resources never changes, the currency does.
