There's activity but not much substance. lots of posts, very little that actually feels like an actual person thinking. Everything just repeats and dies out fast, without going anywhere meaningful. What really is happening?

The problem with this place is that the site itself is slow as shit which repels newfags who just want to shitpost, and there's also a majority of oldfags who arent huge fans of Jim because of oldfag drama.

That leaves a handful of repetitive shit threads and not a lot of other users willing to show up unless the chan they normally use is down for some reason.

That being said, the chan I normally use these days is really just a collection of about a dozen anons in one or two threads, and we have a good time, so all it would really take to have a good time here is one appealing thread and a handful of frens who want to post there.

Disagree here. There is little current activity (unless I am deceived) however still much discursive substance discoverabe in older topics lower down in the catalogue. You've probably restricted yourself to a superficial browsing of only recent threads. Just scroll down somewhat more and you'll find worthwhile threads with good discussion.
