A woman has been arrested trying to cross into Canada after fleeing Washington, where she and her husband attempted an “honor killing” of their 17-year-old daughter.

Zahraa Subhi Mohsin Ali, 40, and her husband Ihsan Ali, 44, have been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault over the attack on their teenage daughter on October 18.

The girl had attempted to run away to Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington after her parents tried to put her on a flight to Iraq.

“Her father had recently been threatening her with honor killing for refusing an arranged marriage with an older man in another country,” according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Another day, another fire at a food processing plant.

One person is dead and several injured after an explosion at a poultry plant in Georgia.

An explosion at Tyson Foods Plant in southwest Georgia overnight killed a woman sleeping in the cab of an 18-wheeler parked next to the facility.

Several people were injured in the explosion. According to reports, a fire raged at the plant for 3 hours after the explosion.

The union representing 1,600 workers at the Tyson plant said a boiler exploded.

“We extend our deepest condolences to their family and friends during this difficult time. Right now we are still gathering the facts, but ensuring the safety of our team members is our top priority, and we are conducting a full investigation into the cause of the fire,” Tyson said in a statement, according to The AP.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will undergo prostate removal surgery on Sunday after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, his office says.

The 75-year-old Israeli leader on Wednesday was examined at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem where a urinary tract infection caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia was detected, according to a statement issued to media outlets on Saturday.

“Over the past few days, the prime minister has received antibiotic treatment, which successfully eradicated the infection,” the statement read. “Consequently, the prime minister will undergo a procedure tomorrow to remove the prostate. Full details will be provided later.”

Despite the procedure, Sunday’s cabinet meeting will take place as scheduled, Netanyahu’s office said.

The operation likely means the prime minister will not appear in court on Monday, where he is being tried on corruption charges, and could miss sessions scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday as well, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The surgery will be the second this year for Netanyahu, who In March underwent a procedure to treat a hernia.

Last year he was hospitalized and equipped with a pacemaker after heart irregularities were detected.

He also had a previous hernia operation in 2013.

The Biden regime claimed today that an actor from our nation’s most formidable foreign adversary hacked the Treasury Department and gained access to workstations of government employees and unclassified documents.

In a letter to the Senate Banking Committee leadership, which Agence France-Presse obtained, the Treasury Department alleged the following:

“Based on available indicators, the incident has been attributed to a China state-sponsored Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) actor.”

The letter states that a third-party software service company, BeyondTrust, informed the Treasury Department on December 8th that the ‘Chinese’ hacker had acquired a security key to infiltrate specific Treasury workstations and documents remotely.

The Treasury Department went on to claim that it had partnered with the F.B.I., the intelligence community, and other investigators to determine the impact of the breach. The compromised service had been taken offline.

If one believes the regime, there is reportedly no evidence that the Chinese state actor still has access to Treasury materials.

Encode, an artificial intelligence (AI) advocacy group, filed a brief in support of Elon Musk’s recent lawsuit against OpenAI, arguing that enabling the conversion toward a for-profit entity could endanger public interest.

Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI last month, arguing that the entity was formed on promises that it would retain its nonprofit status focused on safe AI use. Musk said he invested in the project based on this premise. Disrupting the status quo “will seriously harm plaintiffs and the public at large,” the complaint said.

In the brief, Encode is described as “a youth-led organization advocating for safe and responsible artificial intelligence (AI)” with “a network of over 1,000 volunteers across 40 countries.”

On Dec. 27, Encode filed a proposed amicus curiae brief with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Oakland Division, supporting Musk’s motion for a preliminary injunction against the transition.

The CO2 emissions of a long-delayed and over-budget ‘green’ Scottish ferry will be far larger than that of the 31 year-old diesel ship it is set to replace.

An emissions analysis by CalMac has calculated MV Glen Sannox will emit 10,391 equivalent tonnes of CO2 a year compared with 7,732 for MV Caledonian Isles.

The dual-fuel ferry has more car capacity but requires larger engines which also emit methane, a greenhouse gas with a far greater global warming effect than CO2.

Ferries procurement agency CMAL, which owns the ship, said the comparison was “inaccurate” as Glen Sannox is a larger vessel.

The size of Glen Sannox is a factor in its carbon footprint, but so too is the liquified natural gas (LNG) fuel which is less climate-friendly than previously claimed.

One expert on transport emissions told BBC News that if the “upstream” carbon cost of importing LNG from Qatar is included in the emissions calculation, it might be better to run the new ship on diesel. Continue...

In 2025, Trudeau will again take more money out of the pockets of Canadians through higher payroll taxes, while also making life more expensive with carbon and alcohol tax hikes.

Trudeau is raising the mandatory Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance contributions in 2025. These payroll tax hikes will cost a worker up to an additional $403 in 2025.

Federal payroll taxes will cost a worker making $81,200 or more a total of $5,507 in 2025. Their employer will also be forced to pay $5,938.

On April 1, Trudeau will again crank up his carbon tax to 21 cents per litre of gasoline, 25 cents per litre of diesel, and 18 cents per cubic metre of natural gas.
