A London library sparked intense backlash after it hired a self-described anti-racist carnival troupe with a performer dressed up as a monkey with a large dildo hanging between his legs for a children’s reading event.

On Saturday, the Redbridge Central Library hosted a performance from the Mandinga Arts carnival group. Video footage shared on social media showed a rainbow coloured money running out of the library, with the mock genitalia flopping at motorists.

The event was part of a “Summer Reading Challenge” in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for a “very special nature-themed Challenge that will inspire you to stand up for the planet.”

The graphic “Monkey Mayem” performance on Saturday was put on by the London-based Mandinga Arts carnival group.

Mandinga claims that their public performances are“are guaranteed fun for family audiences wherever they pop up.”. Fuck this is fun for sickos not families

The so-called Monkey Mayhem performance is described thusly: “Escaped from the circus these trio of acrobatic Monkey’s are causing havoc across town [sic]. They climb, they roll they tumble, but nothing makes them go bananas like being mischievous and having a good laugh.

“First created in 2008 these monkeys have been entertaining audiences across Europe and the UK. They are highly engaging and love audience interaction, Ideal for all kind or family outdoor festivals.”

Mandinga openly professes support for leftist activist causes such as Black Lives Matter and even offers a list of “anti-racist resources” on their website, including the 1619 Project from the New York Times and How To Be An Anti-Racist by Critical Race Theory proponent Ibram X. Kendi.

“Hearts and minds have been awoken on a scale never seen before. We have an opportunity to make fundamental and positive changes. Black Lives Matter reminds us this is a movement, not a moment. We desire to be part of this movement. Through the medium of our art, we’ll come together through collaboration, awareness and resolve to make small but creative mark on this momentous, life enhancing journey,” the carnival troupe wrote.

Following the backlash online, the Labour leader of the local council, Jas Athwal, wrote: “This is disgusting. I have taken immediate action. Upon finding out, I contacted Vision. [Vision] have confirmed that the contract has been cancelled, an apology is sought in the first instance and an explanation will be scrutinised by the council’s legal team.”

'Significant' 120 MPH Tornado Carves Through Georgia Submarine Base

A tornado with winds that reached about 120 miles per hour struck Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia, on Wednesday afternoon, causing injuries and damage, the National Weather Service said Thursday.

Damage from the tornado, which touched down around 5:45 p.m. local time, was focused on a recreational vehicle park on the Navy base, which is the East Coast home for the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines.

Lt. Stu Phillips, a spokesman for the base, said that a total of 12 RVs were damaged, with one even ending up in the water.

Ben Nelson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida, said that the park sustained "significant damage."

"A truck got completely flipped over and tossed for a pretty decent distance," he said. "There's debris just kind of scattered all over the park with RVs toppled over and flipped over."

Nelson said that the service received reports of "somewhere between 15 and 20 people" suffering injuries during the storm.

Phillips said that 10 people were transported to a local hospital but noted that none of the injuries was life-threatening. It's still not clear how many of the injured are service members, dependents or civilians, he added.

Although damage assessments are ongoing, Phillips noted that some buildings on base also suffered damage. However, he added that there was "no damage to our submarines or any sensitive military equipment."

"While the situation here is still very dynamic, I want to thank all of our first responders and Camden County first responders for their quick actions," Capt. Chester Parks, the base's commanding officer, said in a statement. "Their quick response most certainly helped."

Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., said he spoke with Parks on Wednesday night and pledged "to provide any necessary Congressional assistance," according to a statement.

Ossoff added that affected families can contact his office for help.

The tornado was the result of Tropical Storm Elsa, which made landfall along the north Florida coast Wednesday morning.

"We see tornadoes with landfalling tropical systems, but we usually don't see EF2-type tornadoes," Nelson explained. "This is a pretty significant type of event."

The Enhanced Fujita or "EF" scale is used to assign a tornado a rating based on estimated wind speeds and related damage. It ranges from EF-0 to EF-5.

Kings Bay is the latest base to suffer damage from natural disasters in recent years. Hurricane Florence caused catastrophic flooding near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in September 2018. A month later, Hurricane Michael devastated Tyndall Air Force Base and damaged multiple F-22 Raptor fighters when it struck Florida. Wildfires and flooding have also damaged bases in recent years.

The latest Defense Department budget request specifically asked for $617 million in new investments to help it prepare for and respond to climate change. The money would be used to renovate installations to improve their ability to operate during severe weather conditions and be able to recover more quickly after disruptive natural or man-made emergencies

A Moth, Now by Any Other Name

On Wednesday, the Entomological Society of America announced it was removing “gypsy moth” and “gypsy ant” as recognized common names for two insects. For Ethel Brooks, a Romani scholar, the move is long overdue.

As a child in New Hampshire, Brooks loved watching worms and caterpillars crawl across her hand. But one particular caterpillar, the hairy larvae of the species Lymantria dispar, terrified her. The larvae would swarm and strip the leaves from a tree, leaving behind so much destruction that people sometimes called them a “plague.” But no one blamed L. dispar. Instead they blamed “gypsy moth caterpillars,” the species’ common name.

“That’s how they see us,” Brooks remembered thinking as a child. “We eat things and destroy things around us.”

Brooks, now chair of the department of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey, has spoken out against the use of the pejorative in fashion and college parades, she said. But Brooks never imagined the pejorative could be stricken from its use in the more staid realm of science.

“It’s hideous and superracist and it’s hurtful,” she said. “But what can you do about it?”

The move by the entomological group is the first time it has removed a common name from an insect on the grounds that it is offensive to a community of people, according to representatives from the society.

“If people are feeling excluded because of what we call something, that’s not acceptable,” Michelle Smith, the society’s president, said. “We’re going to make changes to be a welcoming and inclusive society for all entomologists.”

The news of the renaming came as a welcome surprise to many in the scientific community, with some praising the decision on Twitter. “WOO!” tweeted entomologist Kevin Liam Keegan from his handle @MothPotato.

Although each species has a unique binomial scientific name, such as Lymantria dispar, many are better known by their common names. “No one calls a housefly Musca domestica,” said Chris Stelzig, executive director of the Entomological Society of America.

In the 20th century, the Entomological Society of America formally recognized a list of approved common names in an effort to standardize what many insect species were called. The society maintains a committee that reviews proposals and makes recommendations for new or revised common names.

Federal Court Sides with Judge Mack’s Chaplain-led Invocations Prior to Texas State Court Proceedings

Montgomery County, TX—The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit last week issued a stay permitting First Liberty Institute client Judge Wayne Mack, a Montgomery County Justice of the Peace, to continue allowing chaplains to offer invocations at the start of his court sessions while a lawsuit against him is considered by the courts.

“Judge Mack is grateful that the Fifth Circuit allowed him to continue following our nation’s long history and tradition of opening court proceedings with prayer,” said Justin Butterfield, Deputy General Counsel to First Liberty. “We agree with the Fifth Circuit’s conclusion that prohibiting the prayers was wrong. It’s time for the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the State Commission on Judicial Conduct to end their harassment of Judge Mack.”

‘I am so very grateful that we have our chaplaincy program in place to assist with helping families in our county through terrible tragedies and to provide a moment of perspective as our court begins proceedings,” said Judge Mack. “I am pleased that this program can continue while we are presenting our case to the 5th Circuit.”

In its stay, the Fifth Circuit stated Judge Mack “has made a strong showing that the district court erred” in siding with Freedom From Religion Foundation in its lawsuit against the Montgomery County Judge. The court continued: “…as to FFRF’s individual-capacity claim, that too is likely to fail. The Supreme Court has held that our Nation’s history and tradition allow legislatures to use tax dollars to pay for chaplains who perform sectarian prayers before sessions. If anything, Judge Mack’s chaplaincy program raises fewer questions under the Establishment Clause because it uses zero tax dollars and operates on a volunteer basis. And the Supreme Court recently reaffirmed Marsh in upholding a legislature’s unpaid, volunteer chaplaincy program comprised almost exclusively of Christians.”

Mack, whose duties include serving as a coroner for Montgomery County, created a volunteer chaplaincy program to aid members of the community while he conducts independent death investigations. In his role as Justice of the Peace, Judge Mack allows the multi-faith, volunteer chaplains to open his courtroom ceremonies with a brief invocation and the pledge of allegiance in order to honor their service. The chaplaincy program includes leaders from multiple faiths, including Christian, Sunni Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu religious leaders.

In an incredible moment, the judge attempted to shame Andrew Sitto, a TCF witness who filed an affidavit saying that he saw “tens of thousands of ballots” that were delivered to the absentee ballot counting facility in the early morning on the day after the election. Judge Parker asked how he could possibly know that there were tens of thousands of ballots? City of Detroit lawyer David Fink stated that “you cannot put something in an affidavit that you know not to be true.” How does David Fink know whether or not the statement by Andrew Sitto is not true?

Apparently, the far-left lawyer and judge representing the Democratic Party missed the video the Gateway Pundit paid the TCF Center to obtain that showed thousands of ballots being delivered at 3:30 am on the day after the election.

At least three election observers testified in sworn affidavits that they witnessed vehicles delivering fraudulent ballots to the TCF Center early in the morning on November 4th.

The battle over water rights is heating up. Please consider the State of Mississippi v. City of Memphis and Memphis Light, Gas, and Water now on the Supreme Court Docket.

Mississippi’s complaint alleges that MLGW has “forcibly siphoned” off its water to the tune of billions of gallons. Compl. ¶ 23. And that without modern pumping technology none of that water would be available to Tennessee. Id. at ¶ 24. To make matters worse, Mississippi says Tennessee has removed groundwater far beyond “the water’s natural seepage rate.” Id.

Evidence of Tennessee’s heist, Mississippi claims, can be seen in “substantial drop in pressure and corresponding drawdown of stored water in the Sparta Sand” and the “cone of depression” that extends into north Mississippi. Id. at ¶¶ 25, 30. Because Tennessee is allegedly stealing water at such a rapid rate, Mississippi must now drill wells to substantially greater depths. Id. at ¶ 54(b). Naturally, that practice has increased the costs on Mississippians who rely on the Aquifer for their groundwater.

Mississippi now seeks both declaratory relief and money damages for the taking of its groundwater. The declaratory judgment would establish Mississippi’s “sovereign right, title and exclusive interest in the groundwater stored naturally in the Sparta Sand formation” which would not be available to the Defendants without pumping. UK Labour Party to vote against ‘Freedom of Speech’ bill, claiming it will embolden ‘hate speech’

The British Labour Party will oppose a Tory-sponsored bill that would allow “deplatformed” political speakers to sue universities. Labour leader Keir Starmer claims the bill will enable “Holocaust deniers” and “anti-vaxxers.”

The bill, proposed by the Conservative government and headed for a second reading in the House of Commons this week, would amend existing laws safeguarding free speech on university campuses by allowing guest speakers to sue the universities if they are denied a platform over political views. It would also mandate the appointment of a “Director for Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom” within the government’s Office for Students, and allow university staff to take legal action if they felt they had been passed over for a job due to their views.

The Labour Party isn’t on board. In a statement on Saturday, the party said that its MPs would vote against this “hate speech bill.” Shadow Education Secretary Kate Green said that if passed, it could give “people harmful to public interest the opportunity to sue their way to a platform at universities.”

As for who Labour considers “harmful to the public interest,” Green listed “Holocaust deniers” and “anti-vaxxers” as two examples. Labour Leader Keir Starmer echoed Green’s words on Sunday, calling it “shocking” that the Conservatives would hypothetically support these people’s speech rights.

‘This Is Talibanism’: Media Melts Down Over Law Giving Americans Power To Sue Abortion Clinics, Doctors

Media figures and Democrats melted down Monday over a new Texas law, comparing the law to the Taliban and the dystopian show The Handmaid’s Tale.

Texas’ Heartbeat Act bans abortions after the baby’s heartbeat can be detected and gives Americans the right to sue abortion clinics or individuals who help mothers obtain abortions in the state.

“So now Texas Republicans are putting bounties on pregnant women,” Joy Reid tweeted. “I almost hate to ask what this benighted party will think of next. This is Talibanism. Are Texas conservatives going to be spying on women of childbearing age and turning them in for the bounties?”

Media figures and Democrats melted down Monday over a new Texas law that gives Americans the right to sue abortion clinics or individuals who help mothers obtain abortions in the state of Texas.

Texas’ Heartbeat Act, signed into law May 19, bans abortions after the unborn baby‘s heartbeat can be detected (usually by about six weeks). The law, which makes exceptions for medical emergencies but not in cases of rape or incest, gives private citizens both in and out of Texas the power to sue abortion clinics or individuals who help women obtain abortions, according to The Texas Tribune.

This may make the law more difficult to challenge in court, the publication noted.

Washington Post writer Jennifer Rubin tore into the law Monday, writing, “Consider the potential for harassment, spying, extortion and other vengeful behavior directed toward women.

“The law depends on what a woman’s neighbors, associates and friends know about her reproductive health and are willing to tell the authorities to grab a $10,000 bounty,” Rubin wrote. “The possibility of frivolous litigation is hard to quantify.”

Attorney Lin Wood is blaming one of former President Donald Trump's attorneys, Sidney Powell, for why his name appeared on a lawsuit challenging the results of the 2016 election that could result in financial sanctions for the attorneys.

Michigan officials are asking a judge to levy financial or other consequences against the attorneys, arguing that they sowed distrust in the electoral process. The Trump team previously attempted to distance itself from Powell and never formally acknowledged Wood's involvement in the lawsuit, and on Monday, he tried to convince the judge he wasn't really a player in the case.

Wood told U.S. District Judge Linda Parker he didn't help draft the complaint and that he had "no involvement whatsoever," according to Jan Wolfe, a journalist covering legal affairs for Reuters. When asked if Powell had his permission to put his name on the case, he said he told her in general terms that he was available to help her with the election cases.

"For whatever reason, whoever filed the complaint put my name on there," Wood said. "I didn't have any specific involvement."

The lawsuit alleged there was widespread fraud in Michigan's 2020 presidential election, including that votes were destroyed or switched from Trump to President Joe Biden. The Democratic candidate won Michigan by nearly 3 percentage points, but the lawsuit sought to decertify the results of the state.

Parker dismissed the case in December, saying that it represented the phrase "the ship has sailed," and she criticized the lawyers' requests for being "stunning in its scope and breathtaking in its reach." The judge also targeted the case for being more focused on the allegations' impact on voters' faith in the democratic process and trust in their government.

Dismissing the suit didn't go far enough for Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Detroit officials, who are asking the judge to hold the attorneys accountable. They argued the purpose of the suit was to undermine trust in America's electoral process and want Powell and Wood to be responsible for court and attorney fees and face disciplinary hearings.

At Monday's hearing, the judge questioned why the attorneys didn't seek a recount or file their case in a more timely manner. The attorneys didn't bring the case until three weeks after the election or drop it after the Electoral College certified Biden's victory on December 14, recognizing the case as moot.

Later in the hearing, Wood again attempted to distance himself from the other plaintiffs, telling the judge that he did "not review any of the documents" regarding the complaint, according to Adam Klasfeld, a senior investigative reporter for Law & Crime.

David Fink, an attorney for the city of Detroit, accused Wood of lying during the hearing and associating with the case when it helps him and then backtracking when he could face consequences.

While Powell acknowledged it is "certainly possible" there could have been a "misunderstanding" with regard to her putting Wood's name on the suit, she denied she would have done it without permission.

The Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) have signed the first interagency Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster cooperation and communication between the agencies to enhance competition in the maritime industry. Acting Assistant Attorney General Richard A. Powers and FMC Chairman Daniel Maffei signed the MOU between the Antitrust Division and the FMC effective this afternoon following Friday’s announcement of the Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy.

“Collaboration between the Antitrust Division and the FMC is important to ensuring healthy competition in the maritime industry,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Powers. “Our partnership with the FMC is one of the many ways in which the Antitrust Division is prepared to play its role in achieving the competition objectives of the President’s Competition Executive Order.”

“The Federal Maritime Commission has an important enforcement role as an economic regulator of a vital industry,” said Chairman Maffei. “As such, we will continually assess how the agency can improve its capacity to protect the integrity of the marketplace. This memorandum between the Commission and the Department of Justice supplements and strengthens the FMC’s ability to detect, address, and pursue violations of the law or anticompetitive behavior by those we regulate.”

Key provisions of the MOU facilitate communication and cooperation between the agencies. In particular, the MOU establishes a framework for the Antitrust Division and the FMC to continue regular discussions and review law enforcement and regulatory matters affecting competition in the maritime industry. The MOU includes provisions to establish periodic meetings among the respective agencies’ officials. The MOU also provides for the exchange of information and expertise that may be relevant and useful to the agencies’ oversight and enforcement responsibilities, as appropriate and consistent with applicable legal and confidentiality restrictions.

UK attorney Anna de Buisseret today announced serving Notices of Liability on COVID-19 clinics and individuals administering the experimental biological agent known as the “COVID-19 vaccine” without obtaining fully informed consent, freely given in accordance with the Nuremberg Code and UK and International law.

“COVID jabs are experimental and still in phase 3 clinical trials,” de Buisseret explained. “The Nuremberg Code therefore applies. The injector MUST obtain the individuals fully informed consent freely given. All MATERIAL RISKS must be made clear to them and an individual risk assessment conducted.”

De Buisseret said among those served is Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England, UK government’s Chief Medical Advisor, and head of the public health profession Professor Chris Whitty.

In April, Doctors for COVID Ethics served Notices of Liability for COVID-19 vaccine harms and deaths on all European Parliament Members.

In the United States, Health Impact News gave public notice that two private corporations, CVS and Rite Aid, have been issued a Safety Warning for the potential danger of indiscriminate COVID-19 “vaccination” in the naturally immune and recently COVID-19 infected, by Dr. Hooman Noorchashm, MD, Phd, on April 29th, 2021.

Many physicians have now spoken publicly about studies showing that those with natural COVID immunity will see a 2- to 3-fold increased risk of adverse reactions from the COVID shots.

UK Research Group: Coronavirus Vaccine “Unsafe for Humans” Due to Adverse Events

A medical research group in the U.K. pointed out that the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are “unsafe for humans” based on adverse event reports. Scientists and doctors looked at data from the British government’s Yellow Card vaccine event reporting system. They found that the “overwhelming” number of adverse reactions from COVID-19 vaccines definitely raised alarm bells.

The Yellow Card system is the British equivalent of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in the U.S. The system is run by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Through the Yellow Card system, the MHRA keeps track of COVID-19 vaccines on an ongoing basis “to ensure their benefits continue to outweigh any risks.”

However, researchers at the Evidence-based Medicine Consultancy (EbMC) research group based in Bath, England unveiled concerning findings. EbMC Director Dr. Tess Lawrie wrote about her group’s findings in a June 9 letter to the MHRA Chief Executive Officer Dr. June Raine.

Lawrie wrote in her letter that between Jan. 4 and May 6 of this year, a total of 888,196 adverse events and 1,253 deaths were reported to Yellow Card. Similar to VAERS data, these were not directly proven as correlated with the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite this, the EMBC director raised safety concerns for those getting the vaccine. She wrote that given the Yellow Card figures, “the MHRA now has more than enough evidence … to declare the COVID-19 vaccine unsafe for use in humans.”

Lawrie then asked urgent questions for the MHRA to answer as the soonest. She asked how many people have died within 28 days of vaccination and how many people have been hospitalized for the same period. She also asked the total number of people disabled by the vaccination.

In a later interview with TrialSiteNews, she described the total number of cases as “concerning” and called for follow-ups on persons who reported adverse reactions “to ensure there are no further problems.” Lawrie said: “The scope of morbidity is striking, evidencing a lot of incidents and what amounts to a large number of ill.”
