Saw picrel last night and I thought it was really good for what is was. Easily one of the best car chase scenes as well.

I got two for you. Dead Bang is basically what happened with the Oklahoma City bombing, and if you like movies like Falling Down and Taxi Driver, Boys Next Door will do you good. Only gripe I have with the movie is that Max Caulfield has a badass '74 Roadrunner, but the chase scene at the end uses a fucking Ford Maverick.

>Easily one of the best car chase scenes as well

Between the Gene Hackman car chase in The French Connection & David Caruso in Jade, it's safe to say that William Friedkin is not only the King of Kino but the King of Car Chases as well.

TL&DILA sits comfortably within the top 3 of Friedkin's best.

Also, William Petersen is on fire in this one.

Not sure why he never became a bigger deal as a dramatic actor on the big screen in the 80's after he knocked it out of the park back-to-back in both TL&DILA & Manhunter.

One of my favs, and agreed it's the best car chase I've seen, better than French Connection's. Friedkin at times is a master. Love the 80s' feel and look of the film too. Great soundtrack from Wang Chung. Dafoe is a great villain without 398274 wrinkles, looks like a 17 yo. The opening sequence showing the counterfeiting process if classic.

Current to-watch list: Nicky and Mikey, One False Move, Cache, The Crazies, and Ed Wood. Certified kino? I already know Cache is.

I finished Shantaram a couple months ago and after reading the premise of the film I'm not seeing a connection. Looks like the director has made only trash.
