Last weekI missed a Royal Mail Signed for package, I assumed it was the shower head I reordered but unfortunately I missed it again so it's at the post office.
However, yesterday my shower head arrived. I've checked throguh all my online orders and there's nothing that needs to be delivered so I have no clue what this "signed for" package is or even if it is a package, what if its a letter?
The anxiety is killing me. I'm just going to ignore this problem until it goes away.

Dogs are really quite gross.
My aunt used to have this hypersexual female husky that would lick it's own vagina all the time whilst making snorty moaning noises. I don't just mean small licks, I mean it was really shoving it's snout in there really going for it and then the room would be filled with the revolting scent of wet dog vagina.
It would steal pillows and hump the fuck out of them too.

I used to "play" guitar when I was 14, but instead of actually learning chords and normal music theory I just googled tabs to songs I liked and played them atrociously.
It all just sounded "off", there was no proper rythm between notes and I had absolutely no clue how to play an instrument besides tabs.
At least it was fun, and at the time I genuinely thought I was amazing.

I got C - E grades in my GCSEs as well (specifically 2 Cs, 4 Ds, and 4 Es). I didn't make any sort of effort though, I gave up any and all academic efforts about halfway through year 8. Got put in various "redo your GCSEs" things in subsequent years into my early 20s, but never actually got far enough in them to resit the exams.
I did alright in college because I did BTEC music tech, and I was already highly proficient with 3 years of experience under my belt before I'd even started. Ended up with MMM, and I don't doubt that I could've gotten top marks if I'd bothered to do any of the written work. I basically min-maxed it, I aced all the practical stuff so even without doing a single bit of written work I managed to get a decent grade.

I hate Range Rovers and other types of oversized SUVs that are far too big for small British roads and parking spaces.
Some fuck in his oversized range rover lego car parks overnight on a road near my house but his stupid car is so big that it sticks about 1ft into the road. It's so fucking big that it actually causes traffic because you have to stop your car to let other people past because it's SO FUCKING HUGE that it stops 2 cars from comfortably going down the road.
I don't see the appeal, there's absolutely no utility in them because any possible storage space just becomes "extra legroom".
Pic related, a nice, sensibly sized car.

Feel the need to rant lads. It's over something fairly stupid in the grand scheme of things, but it's been lingering in the back of my mind for a while, and started really getting me down since yesterday.
I've been building a PC for my grandmother, as her old Windows 7 laptop is on its way out, and my dad asked me if I could build her a desktop PC. Ordered the parts and got it all up and running yesterday, then moved on to the OS installation part of it. I installed Windows 10 initially, thinking that it might not be as bad as I previously thought, and I can honestly say I loathe everything about it. Even putting the constant antagonistic / data-mining shit aside, it's actually really buggy. Numerous built-in features got broken in the latest big update, and I see other people with the same problems so I know it's not my (or the hardware's) fault. Not to mention, I think it's really fucking ugly, the UI looks amateur and inconsistent, and the various settings windows are simply painful to navigate.
So I formatted the drive and started again with Linux Mint, just to see how viable it would be. It's a lot better in terms of UI, data-mining, no ads, etc., but it's still not perfect, and I don't really think my grandma would get along with it. She uses some old Windows Live photo organising/editing software, and while it does have a thing that does all that, it's not very intuitive. Might have to look into some third party software, which is a lot more hit-and-miss in Linux world than it is windows. Also, largely thanks to my dad, she's hooked into the old MS Outlook ecosystem, so it might be difficult to get her over to another email client.
Thanks to Microsoft being the evil dickheads they are, Windows 7 isn't really an option any more due to them forcing PC hardware vendors to cease support, and putting it in "end of life" status next year. Windows 8.1 (which I also hate, just not as much as Windows 10) is basically in the same boat, so that's not really an option either. It's not just this build where this is a problem though, this is going to be a problem with my PC as well.
So to get to the real point of this post; I fucking love Windows 7 lads, I genuinely love it. It's the most beautiful OS I've ever used, and I've been heavily using OSs since Windows 95. I love the "aero" glassy look, it makes me feel relaxed and refreshed. I feel at peace just looking at it. I've been using Windows 7 every day for the past 9 years and it's been an absolute pleasure overall. I remember when I first used it back in 2010, when I was only 18, and it was just a wonderful experience, everything just looked and felt so much better than anything that had come before it.
I don't want to say goodbye. I want to keep using it forever, but it seems that the forces that be won't let me. Security patches I can live without, I've had updates disabled for several years anyway, but new hardware support is already winding down, and I know that software support will follow shortly. I just don't know what to do. It feels like an old friend or a close loved one of mine has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and there's nothing I can do about it. Maybe I've just spent too many years alone with my computer, but Windows 7 has been there with me this whole time, through my various ups and downs. It's never changed its form or its function, it's been the rock that the rest of my life has leant on. Almost everything I've done in the past 9 years has been with this OS, and I'm struggling to come to terms with the painful fact that it's not going to be there for the next 9, or even the next 2.
I love you, Windows 7. Please don't leave me.

I'm going to try and post here more often from now on, even if I don't really have much to say. I'm having a hard time dealing with the whole PC/Windows thing, and I've been thinking that I really don't want this place to disappear either. I really regret not posting at times when I easily could have done so over the last couple of months, the whole past year even. I feel like I'm largely (or at least partly) responsible for the long lull in activity we've been experiencing. I've been a bit of a cunt and made almost no effort at all to respond to you lads, and I've only made maybe 1 or 2 posts that weren't replies, whereas it used to be that a third or more of all posts in any given thread were mine. It wasn't until today that I really considered what life might be like if you lot weren't always there for me.
This is pretty much the only place I can come to and talk about my day, let off steam, or just chat with you lads about random shit. I don't have any real life or online friends or associates, I only really have my parents to talk to, and the only one out of them that I can talk to about my interests and hobbies is my dad, who I rarely get to see. If this place dies then I'll once again be completely socially isolated most of the time, and while I'm sure I could soldier through it like I did during the years before I found /britfeel/, it would surely be just as miserable and depressing as it used to be, perhaps even more so. I don't want that to happen, I'd much prefer if what remains of this merry little group of shitposters, social outcasts, and eccentric individuals stuck together for as long as we're able to. We might not last forever, but I don't think it has to end any time soon.

I've been on britfeel since I was 16 and I'm now 22, it has been a big part of my pathetic life and I will never stop coming here, there's nowhere else where I can stand the people. I'll also make an effort to post more. As for Windows 10, I recently switched from 7 and there are some good things about it. Command prompt is much more usable, I use it as a music player and for other purposes that I wouldn't have bothered with on 7. Also, 10 has a very nice tiling window manager you use with windows key + arrows. I use a program called OOSU10 to disable what can be disabled of the privacy invasions, not that I ever trusted 7 any more or less than I do 10. As for the UI, I prefer the boxiness over aero and it's much more customisable. I think you may get used to it over time if you switch.

Yeah I think I could get used to it too, it's just that while I have my familiar ol' Windows 7 machine in front of me all set up just how I like it, with the ability to quickly switch between this and a brand new Windows 10 machine (that already has broken features from the latest update), 10 feels really alien and uncomfy. According to what I've been reading, 10 also apparently breaks loads of shit and resets settings every 6 months when there's a major update, have you experienced anything like that?
>As for the UI, I prefer the boxiness over aero and it's much more customisable
I've never liked the flat design trend, I also really hate tablet-style interfaces. I've been waiting years for all that sort of thing to die, back in 2012/2013 I was convinced that this was just another fad that wouldn't last long, but it's still here, and there's no sign of it going away any time soon. Maybe entering the 2020s will cause people to seek something fresher, or bring about a nostalgia for skeuomorphism. God, please let that happen, I love tastefully done skeuomorphism.

Say what you will about the OS, but I really like Vista.
When I first got a computer in my bedroom, that was the OS it had. I like the look of it, for similar reasons to you liking windows 7, and I thought the start orb where it stuck out from the bar was super cool. Gives me a nostalgic feeling.

Oh I agree, Vista was a nice looking OS as well. I remember seeing the first screenshots of it in PC mags when it was still in development, and it looked so sleek and cool. I'm one of the few people that didn't have any problems with Vista, I thought it was really nice overall. I believe a lot of people's bad experiences with it came from trying to use former-XP machines (and XP-era peripherals with no Vista drivers available) to run it, at a time when computer hardware was improving hard and fast. I only ever used Vista with new hardware, and had no trouble with it at all as far as I can remember.
I guess a lot of my feelings towards Vista and 7 melded together, because they were so similar. 7 is a bit more blue-ish and colourful rather than black and yellow-tinted, and has the dock-like taskbar, but besides that it's difficult to tell them apart. It's not like XP or 95/98, which were completely different.

I can get a tune out of anything, but I wouldn't say I'm proficient with any particular instrument. Been thinking about Dolequest again lads. I know it has been four years and despite having a job now I can't let it go. Went for a walk earlier and it's just been hitting me with gameplay mechanics.
> Sidescrolling beat em up
> every 'day' is a level where you aimlessly walk around town
> one day a week you go to the job centre
> in the evenings you browse 4chan
> different boards level up different stats and might give you different abilities, examples:
> /pol/ makes you stronger vs pakis
> /fa/ levels up your 'fashion sense' so you can unlock new clothes other than your raggy green frog hoodie
> /x/ gives you magic
> /r9k/ might give you an attack bonus vs women
> /out/ gives you a beard
> gameplay will involve walking down the street, sometimes making choices (do you go into the underpass where there are a pack of chavs?) (Do you give the finger to those mormons?) as well as general combat a la streets of rage
> Game will have multiple goals but will likely be open ended; eventually you'll be this fullon mega autist, maybe you can even age ingame and your magic powers deepen if you reach 30 without having virginityState==1
I dunno lads, it's nice to have a project but did i miss the bandwagon with Dolequest? I don't go on either thread anymore and the cultures of both have changed. Hope you're all doing well.

I dunno, it sounds like a solid concept, but I don't really browse imageboards much any more besides coming here, occasionally checking in on a couple of other scarcely populated 8ch boards, and one fairly autistic general on 4/jp/ that doesn't have an 8ch alternative. I also haven't been to the job centre in years, last time I re-applied I got considered autistic enough that they don't ever need to see me or check up on me again. They just send me the bux, no questions asked.

Been tinkering around more with Windows 10, got it looking a lot more familiar now by using Enterprise edition, OOSU10 (thanks for the rec lad), Open-Shell menu, and just diving deep into the settings. Can't say I like the idea of relying on third-party software to make the system more stomachable, but I guess it's not so different to the Vista days when I used to use weird things like "Circle Dock".
Only thing I haven't found is a proper replacement for the analogue clock when you click on the time. I use that a lot on 7, I find analogue clocks much easier to read and easier to calculate timings. Apparently you used to be able to unlock it in 10's registry settings, but they killed it off a couple of years ago. Wankers. Maybe I'll just buy a real one.
Anyway I'm off to bed now, goodnight lads.
