Has anyone here shipped a car or motorcycle cross-country? What should I know before booking with a transport company—timing, costs, or red flags to watch for?

I shipped my car from Florida to Oregon last year. Price was fair, but it arrived dusty and a couple days late. If timing’s critical, build in a buffer. Also, take photos before pick-up, one guy on my route had a cracked bumper and no way to prove it wasn’t his fault.

When I needed to move my motorcycle from Texas to New Jersey, I had no idea how many different companies and pricing models existed. I ended up comparing quotes for days. Timing and insurance were the biggest variables, some offered quick delivery but with higher risk exposure. One thing that really helped was reading reviews on niche industry sites like https://central-dispatch.pissedconsumer.com/review.html . Real-world stories gave me a better sense of what to expect beyond the marketing fluff.
