Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), was in the international airport in Sana’a, Yemen, on Thursday when it was attacked by the Israel Air Force (IAF).
As Breitbart News reported, Israel launched its fourth and most ambitious counterattack against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels who have been launching missiles and drones at Israel, and international shipping, since last October.

Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was in Sanaa airport at the time of the attack.
He says: “As we were about to board our flight from Sana’a, about two hours ago, the airport came under aerial bombardment.
“One of our plane’s crew members was injured. At least two people were reported killed at the airport.
He later added: “My UN and WHO colleagues and I are safe.”
The WHO and its director came under intense criticism for their failure to stop the spread of the coronavirus in 2019 and 2020, especially after the organization ignored information from Taiwan (which is excluded) and instead amplified erroneous claims by China in mid-January 2020 that the virus showed no ability to spread among humans.

On Wednesday, Trump took to social media and suggested that hockey great Wayne Gretzky replace the embattled current prime minister.
“I just left Wayne Gretzky, ‘The Great One as he is known in Ice Hockey circles,” Trump wrote. I said, ‘Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada – You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign.’
“He had no interest, but I think the people of Canada should start a DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement. It would be so much fun to watch!”
Janet Gretzky posted the president-elect’s message on her Instagram stories and the link.
Trump’s suggestion comes amid mounting pressure on Trudeau to resign following the resignation of his Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland, earlier this month.
The resignation of a prominent Trudeau cabinet member did not escape Trump’s attention, who needled the Canadian prime minister on social media.
“The Great State of Canada is stunned as the Finance Minister resigns, or was fired, from her position by Governor Justin Trudeau,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, once again floating the idea that Canada should become part of the United States.
“Her behavior was totally toxic, and not at all conducive to making deals which are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. She will not be missed!!!”
Trudeau’s Liberal Party potentially faces a no-confidence vote in January. Currently, the Liberal Party is in coalition with the New Democratic Party (NDP). However, should the no-confidence vote occur, that coalition would assuredly collapse, and Canadians could head to the polls in a special election far earlier than the planned federal election in October of 2025.

Finnish authorities have detained a tanker suspected of being involved in the damage of a subsea power cable connecting Finland and Estonia and disruptions of several data cables.
The police and border guard boarded the Cook Islands-flagged LR1 tanker Eagle S carrying oil from Russia to Egypt after the 170-km-long, 650 MW Estlink 2 broke down on Wednesday. This is the latest in a series of incidents involving cables and pipelines in the Baltic Sea. Estonian media reports that four underwater telecommunications cables have also been experiencing disruptions.
Finnish authorities told reporters on Thursday that following an initial investigation, the 2006-built 74,000 dwt tanker was observed to be missing its anchor, adding that the anchor was the likely cause of the cable damage. The vessel, previously known as Norstar Intrepid has been tied to Russia’s shadow fleet and India’s Peninsular Maritime and Dubai-based one-ship outfit Caravella as owner.
At least two vessels were spotted in the vicinity during the incident, the head of operations of the Finnish utility Fingrid, Arto Pahkin, told local media. One of the vessels was the 2007-built 2,400 teu boxship Xin Xin Tian 2, owned by China’s Hainan Yangpu and operated by compatriot line NewNew Shipping.
The Baltic Sea has witnessed multiple disruptions of power cables, telecom links, and gas pipelines in the past two years. A series of underwater explosions ruptured the Nord Stream pipelines that carried Russian gas to Europe in September 2022. An undersea gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia was shut down after the anchor of the NewNew Polar Bear, another containership operated by NewNew Shipping, damaged it in October 2023. In November, two data cables, one running between Finland and Germany and another between Lithuania and Sweden, were also cut.
Finnish president Alexander Stubb called for ruling out the risks posed by Russian shadow fleet vessels, reacting in a post on X to the incident.
Estonian foreign minister Margus Tsahkna said damage to vital underwater infrastructure has become so frequent that it is hard to believe it was a coincidence or just bad seamanship, adding: “We must understand that damage to the undersea infrastructure has become systemic and must be treated as attacks on our essential infrastructure.”

The government of Mexico is planning to open twenty-five shelters for Mexican citizens deported by the incoming Trump administration. The shelters will be opened by Trump’s inauguration on January 20, according to comments by Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar at a press conference Monday reported by Border Report.
The temporary shelters will hold about 500 each, totally 12,000. Some will house single men, others will house unaccompanied children, women and family units.
In the weeks after the November 5 election, President-elect Trump sparred with Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum over his threat to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada over the failure of those governments to stop migrants and drugs from coming into the U.S.
The announcement Monday by Gov. Marina del Pilar is a sign Trump is winning the battle with Sheinbaum.

As the hectic year wraps up, Canadians are reflecting on the year’s big news stories with anger rather than positivity.
The biggest and most rage-inducing news stories featured U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, including his election victory and his recent tariff threats.
In an annual poll conducted by Pollara titled the “Rage Index,” 63% of Canadians said that they had negative feelings toward the news of 2024, compared to only 5% of Canadians who are feeling positive. This is a noticeable bump from the 58% of Canadians who said they were angry with the news of the year in 2022.
The overall rage index shows that 55% of Canadians indicated that they are feeling rageful, compared to the 50% of Canadians who agreed with this sentiment in 2022.
The number one news story that Canadians paid attention to was the presidential election that occurred south of the border in which the Republicans’ Trump beat Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in a landslide victory, winning nearly all of the swing states up for grabs.

The House of Commons could vote non-confidence in the Trudeau government as early as Jan. 30, a Conservative MP says.
John Williamson, the Conservative chair of the public accounts committee, said his committee will meet before the House of Commons sits again Jan. 27 and entertain a motion of non-confidence in the federal Liberals.
Williamson outlined the plan in a letter to the House of Commons which he shared on social media Friday.
“It is now clear that the Liberal government does not have the confidence of Parliament. Conservative, Bloc Quebecois, and NDP members — representing a majority of MPs — have all announced they will vote non-confidence in the Liberal government,” the letter said. “In the event Liberal members on the committee attempt to filibuster and delay the passage of this non-confidence motion, I am prepared to schedule meetings throughout January.”
He said if the motion passes in the committee it would be sent to the House of Commons Jan. 27, the first day parliament returns after the six-week Christmas break. This means it could be debated on and voted on “as early as Thursday, Jan. 30.”

Anduril, based in Costa Mesa, makes AI-powered drones, missiles, and radar systems, including surveillance towers, Sentry systems, currently used at US military bases worldwide as well as the US-Mexico border and on the British coastline to detect migrants on boats. On December 3rd, they received a three-year contract with the Pentagon for a system that gives soldiers AI solutions during attacks.

More than 50 hospitals and hospital groups were named in a class action lawsuit by employees terminated or suspended for not getting a COVID-19 vaccine
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has dismissed a class action lawsuit launched by 473 Ontario healthcare workers who refused to get vaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic and were suspended or terminated.
In a lengthy ruling released last week, the court dismissed the workers' claim due to lack of jurisdiction, abuse of process and failure to disclose a reasonable cause of action.
The judge awarded court costs against the plaintiffs to the tune of $190,000.
The action named various government defendants, including Premier Doug Ford, former health minister Christine Elliott, current health minister Sylvia Jones, and former minister of long-term care Paul Calandra.
It also named 54 hospitals and hospital groups across Ontario, including Cambridge Memorial.
Two employees at Cambridge Memorial were part of the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs said the directive they get vaccinated, along with other measures, breached their Charter rights, breached various forms of legislation, and "amounted to misfeasance of public office, conspiracy, intimidation, and intentional infliction of mental anguish."
The court ruled it has no jurisdiction over the claims made by unionized employees.
The court also said the claim constitutes an abuse of process because "the scope of the action is prejudicial, the pleadings are frivolous and vexatious and many of the plaintiffs weren't named or improperly listed."
"It pleads bald allegations without material facts."
The claim failed to prove the defendants were working to conspire with each other to declare "a false pandemic and implementation of coercive and damaging measures" that violated the plaintiffs' constitutional rights.
"It strains all credulity to accept that the Premier of Ontario, a number cabinet ministers and 54 non-governmental defendants somehow conspired to concoct a plan to declare a 'false pandemic' all for the predominant purpose of harming the plaintiffs," reads the court ruling.
Together the hospitals sought to recoup $235,589 in legal fees while the province set its partial indemnity costs at $21,425.
The plaintiffs didn't think any costs should be awarded because they are "public interest litigants."
Their lawyer suggested that if costs were awarded, they should be fixed at an amount no higher than $47,462 which reflects their own partial indemnity costs.
Instead, the court, taking into account "the claim's inflammatory, unfounded, and outlandish allegations of conspiracy and misrepresentation" sought punitive measures against the plaintiffs and awarded reduced costs to the hospitals, including disbursements at $175,000.
The plaintiffs will also have to pay the province's costs of $15,000.

From the classic cybersecurity practitioner’s perspective, it was full of technical guidance on how to make the mobile computing environment secure.
Having been part of the combined, inter-agency response team for several broad enterprise breaches over the past 20 years, my interest was piqued.
These documents take months and months of analysis, staffing, and inter-agency approval before publishing. Reading through the DHS CISA document, there were several flags that began to jump out at me.
First, the guidance was complex from even the cybersecurity expert’s point of view, much less the average, typical user of mobile computing and smartphones.
Second, the document did not reference any of the “Typhoon” series of Chinese intrusions that were first revealed by Microsoft in May of 2023.

Germany will join the list of countries headed to the polls next year.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in a speech on Friday that he had dissolved the country’s parliament and a snap election would take place in February.
“I have decided to dissolve the 20th German Bundestag to fix the date for an early election for February 23rd,” he said, adding that “political stability in Germany is a precious asset.”
“It is precisely in difficult times like these that stability requires a government capable of taking action and a reliable majority in parliament,” he continued.
“Therefore, I am convinced that for the good of our country, new elections are the right way.”
Steinmeier also publicly attacked the influence of Elon Musk, declaring that the campaign must be “conducted with fair and transparent means” and warning of the dangers “foreign influence… which is particularly intense on X.”

The usefulness of targeting the power grid is undeniable - Any attempt to establish a reliable manufacturing base in western Ukraine to produce armaments will be impossible. Regular scheduled blackouts are now in effect in many parts of Ukraine in order to preserve power resources. After thirteen separate large scale missile and drone strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure this year alone, the country is facing a 50% to 70% grid down scenario just as temperatures are about to drop well below freezing. Rolling blackouts are expected for many months to come, with some energy experts saying that the grid could be down for up to 20 hours per day in many areas.
Power outages are specifically detrimental to industrial production, heating for homes and clean running water. After three years of Russian strikes Ukraine has become increasingly reliant on energy resources from outside the country. Slovakia is one of the nations providing that humanitarian aid. In January to November this year, Slovkia exported 2.4 million megwatthours of electricity, a 152% year-on-year increase. They also provide around 5% of Ukraine's total diesel supply, which is vital for military vehicles and generators.
The deal is reciprocal, with Kyiv refraining from interference with Russian gas flows from pipelines running through Ukraine over to Slovakia. To get gas from other sources would increase Slovakia's energy costs greatly.
Though Slovakia has remained neutral on the war, Ukraine and the European Union have recently accused them of becoming "too cozy" with Vladimir Putin. Zelensky plans to shut down Russian gas pipelines to Slovakia on January 1st. Kyiv has refused to renew a transit deal with Moscow expiring at the end of the year while they remain at war.
Prime Minister Robert Fico, who survived a failed assassination attempt this May, says that he is being demonized by NATO. As the war progresses and Ukraine loses more and more ground to Russia, neutrality is being treated as treason by Kyiv and their western partners.
