RIP OZZIE.
Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, has died in the UK at the age of 76
Black Sabbath "have lost a brother", says the band's co-founder Tony Iommi, while bassist Terence "Geezer" Butler reflects: "Four kids from Aston - who'd have thought, eh?"
Osbourne's death comes just weeks after the band played their farewell gig in his home city of Birmingham
It was a joyful day - and fortunate in hindsight that he was able to go out on a high, writes BBC entertainment reporter Ian Youngs
Queen's Brian May, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Metallica, the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood and Yungblud all pay tribute
Osbourne was known for energetic and controversial live shows, including the time he bit the head off a bat, while many fans also got to know him through

Prince William’s cousin found dead aged 20
22 Jul, 2025
Rosie Roche reportedly died from a gunshot wound to the head under “non-suspicious” circumstances
Rosie Jeanne Burke Roche, 20, a distant cousin of UK Princes William and Harry, has been found dead at her family home under what police described as non-suspicious circumstances.
Roche’s death was first disclosed in an obituary published in the Yorkshire Post on Saturday, but wider media coverage followed the opening of an official inquest at the Wiltshire and Swindon coroner’s court on Monday.
Area Coroner Grant Davies told the hearing that Roche’s body was discovered by her mother and sister at their home in Norton, Wiltshire on July 14 as she was packing for a holiday with friends. A firearm was found nearby.
Davies said police had “deemed the death as non-suspicious” with no evidence of third-party involvement. He later told The Independent that the cause of death was a “traumatic head injury,” which could indicate suicide.
The inquest has been adjourned until October 25, and the investigation is ongoing.
Roche was the granddaughter of Edmund Hugh Burke Roche, 5th Baron Fermoy, brother of Frances Shand Kydd – Princess Diana’s mother – making her related to the royal family through the Spencer-Roche lineage. She had just completed her first year studying English Literature at Durham University. In a statement, the university paid tribute to Roche, with her professors describing her as “vibrant and creative” and saying she “will be sorely missed.”
Neither Roche’s family nor Buckingham Palace has issued a public comment.
Roche’s grandfather, Edmund Roche, died by suicide in 1984. Last year, another royal relative, Thomas Kingston – the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, a second cousin of King Charles III – died from a gunshot wound, similarly ruled non-suspicious.

The Summer of Our Discontent: UK Starmer Government in Disarray, as Anti-migrant Protests Spread to Norfolk, Targeting ‘Single Adult Male’ Hotel to House Illegals
by Paul Serran Jul. 22, 2025
The scourge of unchecked mass migration is plaguing Europe as a whole, and has struck the United Kingdom with maximum force – and under the rule of the leftist Labour party, things may get even worse.
Deputy Premier Angela Rayner is a voice in failing Keir Starmer government that is alerting to the problem – but in a crooked, inverted way.
Rayner warned that ‘anger at high levels of illegal immigration is risking social cohesion in Britain’s poorest communities and must be addressed’.
This is just stupid: it is not the ‘anger’ that is fraying Britain’s social fabric: it’s the ‘high levels of immigration’ itself!
As the government is incapable of tackling the problem, the expectation for of a new ‘summer of riots’ – like last year – are growing by the day.
Daily Mail reported:
“The Deputy Prime Minister [Rayner] told the Cabinet this morning they had to ‘acknowledge the real concerns people have’ about immigration and economic insecurity, hours after anti-migrant clashes spread to Norfolk.”
Hundreds gathered yesterday (21) outside the Park Hotel in Diss for a protest against plans to house single adult illegal men.
“It followed violence outside a hotel in Epping, Essex after an asylum seeker was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl eight days after arriving in the UK.

UK Approves $51 Billion Nuclear Plant
Authored by Evgenia Flimianova via The Epoch Times Wednesday, Jul 23, 2025
The UK government gave the final go-ahead on Monday for the Sizewell C nuclear power plant to be built in eastern England after securing investment from Canadian pension fund La Caisse, Centrica, and Amber Infrastructure.
Sizewell C in Suffolk will be the UK’s second new nuclear plant in more than two decades, following the government’s 2013 deal with EDF to build Hinkley Point C in Somerset, which is now expected to come online in 2029 after years of delays and cost overruns.
The state will be the largest shareholder in the Sizewell C project with a 44.9 percent stake. La Caisse will hold 20 percent, energy firm Centrica 15 percent, and London-based Amber Infrastructure will take an initial 7.6 percent, joining France’s state-owned EDF, which had already announced its 12.5 percent stake.
The new plant will be the third nuclear station at the Sizewell site, following Sizewell A and B, both of which are being decommissioned.
Sizewell C was initially proposed in the early 2010s as a joint project between EDF and China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN). The UK government removed Chinese involvement in 2022, buying out CGN’s stake due to national security concerns.
The plant is expected to deliver clean power to the equivalent of 6 million homes and create up to 10,000 jobs at the peak of construction, the government said.
It also estimates the plant could save the UK electricity system around 2 billion pounds ($2.6 billion) per year on average, once operational.
“This government is making the investment needed to deliver a new golden age of nuclear, so we can end delays and free us from the ravages of the global fossil fuel markets to bring bills down for good,” Energy Secretary Ed Miliband said.
Funding, Overruns
The government said Sizewell C will be financed using a regulated asset base (RAB) model, allowing developers to recover certain development costs before construction begins.
These costs may include setting up the project company, preparing the supply chain, and conducting site investigations.
UK ministers said the project has secured more financing than the estimated 38 billion pound ($51 billion) construction cost, providing a buffer against overruns. The funding model encourages cost control by making investors, not taxpayers, bear the risk of budget overruns, the government said.
Alongside the agreed private investment, the National Wealth Fund—the government’s principal investor and policy bank—will provide most of the project’s debt financing, working with France’s Bpifrance Assurance Export to support construction of the plant.
Quebec-based global investment group La Caisse, which operates Canada’s second-largest pension fund, said it was investing up to 1.7 billion pounds ($2.3 billion) in the project.
“Our investment demonstrates our confidence in the UK market, our largest destination outside North America, and aligns with our commitment to the energy transition and decarbonization, enabled by our long-term capital and active ownership” La Caisse’s Head of Infrastructure Emmanuel Jaclot said in a July 22 statement.
Centrica said in a statement it had committed construction funding of 1.3 billion pounds ($1.7 billion).
“This isn’t just an investment in a new power station, it’s an investment in Britain’s energy independence, our net zero journey, and thousands of high-quality jobs across the country,” Centrica Group Chief Executive Chris O'Shea said on Tuesday.
France’s EDF said the project will support the French nuclear industry by involving about 40 French suppliers and lowering costs for future EPR2 reactors, the next-generation evolution of the European Pressurized Reactor design.
EPR2 is central to France’s plan to build at least six new reactors by 2050, as announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in 2022.
Global Nuclear Revival Gains Momentum
Britain’s Sizewell C decision comes amid a broader global nuclear revival, as countries seek to strengthen energy security, meet climate goals, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
In the United States, tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google have signed long-term nuclear energy deals to power data centers. Last year, Microsoft entered a 20-year power purchase agreement to reopen Pennsylvania’s closed Three Mile Island (TMI) nuclear power plant.
The war in Ukraine and efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 returned nuclear energy to the European Union’s policy agenda. That includes the creation of the European Nuclear Alliance in 2023 to promote nuclear power as part of the bloc’s climate strategy, along with calls from EU leaders for the region to produce more of its own nuclear energy.
In Japan, utility giant Kansai Electric Power Co. announced on Tuesday that it is considering building the country’s first new nuclear reactor since the 2011 Fukushima disaster.
The company has resumed surveys for a potential project at its Mihama Nuclear Power Plant site.

Hilarious BBC 'Microaggressions' Video Goes Viral; No One In The Real World Acts Like This
Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news Thursday, Jul 24, 2025
A DEI training video produced by the BBC that purports to provide guidance on how to deal with ‘microaggressions’ in the workplace has gone viral because it’s so ridiculously hilarious.
The video is a perfect example of what deranged leftists believe the world is like, but in reality no one acts the way the actors in the piece do.
It’s like an episode of Ricky Gervais’ The Office, which pokes fun at stereotypes by having characters play up to them for comic effect.
In this section, highlighted by James Esses, a black woman is surrounded by bumbling white co-workers who refer to her as Beyoncé and mimic different black accents.
The workers are seen celebrating a birthday, with the white ones aggressively encouraging the black woman to sing on her own, because in their racist minds all black people are gospel singers… or something.
When she pathetically sings happy birthday badly, one of the white women tells her how incredible it sounded, because the makers of the video want you to know that all white people overcompensate for their inherent white guilt and racism.
A male character, who acts exactly like David Brent in the Office, then does some sort of bad Jamaican accent.
The taxpayer funded BBC wants you to know that in this guy’s twisted head full of white ignorance it’s a way of effectively connecting with the black person, the insinuation being that this happens all the time in the real world.
“It’s not easy being the minority in any situation. But in the workplace, as the only Black woman, it can be a very frustrating and stressful environment,” the woman says to the camera.
It’s so cringe you can’t look away.
Esses notes that he stumbled upon the video via a local council’s ‘anti-racism’ training program.
Is there more? Please let there be more!
Yes there is.
Here’s the full five minutes:
https://youtu.be/wh8Gf18eNzw
The last post continues:
And portraying white people as behaving in such a crass manner is also offensive, (you are not all ignorant, racist, boors)
Is the BBC operating in an alternate universe to the rest of us?
When I was a secretarial temp, I did have one older white man, in the middle of a meeting, talk about the ‘N****r in the woodpile’ though.
He immediately realised what he’d said and he apologised profusely.
This was in the mid 1980s.
He would probably be sacked now, but a simple apology (which I didn’t actually ask for) was sufficient to resolve the matter.
If this were now , I could do an Upton, start crying, declare that I felt ‘unsafe’, be escorted out of the building shaking with ‘trauma’, claim for damages and get loads of compo.
The individuals making these things are completely disconnected from reality, and there are many of them, as we’ve previously highlighted.
Remember Ken, the most insufferable but hilariously politically incorrect co-worker in the universe?
Again we ask, can someone turn all of this into an actual show? There are way worse things on Netflix and Disney +.

UK DYSTOPIA: British Police Forms ‘Elite Team’ to Monitor Social Media Searching for ‘Anti-migrant’ Posts, as Leftist Labour Government Braces for Citizens’ Revolt
by Paul Serran Jul. 27, 2025
The United Kingdom continues to devolve into a totalitarian state bent on destroying British society.
Under Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Britain accelerates its descent into a thought-policing state that cares more for ‘asylum seekers’ (a.k.a. illegal invaders) than it does for its own citizens-taxpayers.
As the fed-up British start to push back against the criminal elements among the migrants, we learn that the deranged leftist government is raising an ‘elite team of police officers’ to monitor social media for ‘anti-migrant sentiment’, as Starmer and his unpopular team brace themselves in fear of the people.
The Telegraph reported:
“Detectives will be drawn from forces across the country to take part in a new investigations unit that will flag up early signs of potential civil unrest.
The division, assembled by the Home Office, will aim to ‘maximize social media intelligence’ gathering after police forces were criticized over their response to last year’s riots.”
The detestable reasoning of the UK government is: there’s rampant migrant crime > people are driven into extremes and protest accordingly > police cracks down NOT on criminals, but on the protesting citizens.
It’s the end of Britain.
“On Saturday, crowds gathered in towns and cities including Norwich, Leeds and Bournemouth to demand action, with more protests planned for Sunday.”
“Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, said: ‘This is the beginning of the state controlling free speech. It is sinister, dangerous and must be fought. Reform UK will do just that’.”
With the advent of the UK’s new ‘online safety laws’ (a.k.a. censorship), posts about the anti-migrant protests have already begun to be censored.
The new Orwellian unit will be called the National Internet Intelligence Investigations team.

Trump’s Justice Department Takes Down Dark Web Child Abuse Network — 120,000 Users, Millions of Files in Operation Grayskull
by Jim Hᴏft Jul. 28, 2025
In one of the most aggressive and successful anti-child exploitation crackdowns in U.S. history, President Trump’s Justice Department has revealed the results of Operation Grayskull, a sweeping, international strike that dismantled four high-traffic dark web platforms trafficking violent child sexual abuse materials, exposing a digital cesspool that included over 120,000 registered users and millions of illicit files.
To date, 18 individuals have been convicted in federal court, receiving a combined 300+ years in prison.
The Justice Department detailed how Thomas Peter Katsampes, 52, of Minnesota, became a staff member on one of these despicable sites, personally distributing CSAM, guiding others on how to do so, and helping manage operations. He was sentenced to over 20 years in prison, lifetime supervision, and forced to pay restitution to his victims.
But he was only one of many.
Among the 18 convicted predators:
William Michael Spearman of Alabama was sentenced to life in prison for his role in a child exploitation enterprise.
Joseph Addison Martin of Washington got 42 years.
Keith David McIntosh of Michigan was sentenced to a staggering 55 years, with a prior conviction on record.
Selwyn David Rosenstein of Florida was handed 28 years and a six-figure restitution order for his crimes.
Each of these individuals was found guilty of actively operating or contributing to some of the darkest, most vile content imaginable, and doing so in a highly coordinated and secretive online network.
“Today’s announcement sends a clear warning to those who exploit and abuse children: you will not find safe haven, even on the dark web,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.
“These offenders thought that they could act without consequences, but they were wrong. Thanks to the relentless determination of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners we have exposed these perpetrators for who they are, eliminated their websites and brought justice to countless victims.”
“This operation represents one of the most significant strikes ever made against online child exploitation networks,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “We’ve not only dismantled dangerous platforms on the dark web, but we’ve also brought key perpetrators to justice and delivered a powerful message: you cannot hide behind anonymity to harm children.”
“Yesterday’s sentencing reaffirms our steadfast commitment to protecting our children, the most vulnerable among us, from those who exploit and harm them through the despicable trade in child sexual abuse material,” said U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida.
“Thomas Peter Katsampes and his co-conspirators ran some of the darkweb’s most heinous networks, enabling horrific crimes against innocent victims, but Operation Grayskull has shut these sites down and delivered justice. We applaud the FBI and our international partners for their tireless work, and let this be a clear warning: we will relentlessly pursue and prosecute anyone engaged in such atrocities, no matter how they attempt to cover their tracks.”
The operation also led to arrests in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Estonia, Belgium, and South Africa.

Australia, UK to Sign 50-Year Treaty for Nuclear Submarines
By Swati Pandey Bloomberg July 25, 2025
Jul 24, 2025 (Bloomberg) –Australia and the UK will sign a landmark 50-year defense treaty on Saturday to underpin the construction of nuclear-powered submarines, senior ministers said following high-level talks in Sydney.
Framed as the most consequential bilateral agreement since Australia’s Federation in 1901, the pact underscores deepening defense ties between the historic partners against a backdrop of mounting global geopolitical volatility.
Both sides stressed that the treaty doesn’t impact the Aukus security partnership between Australia, the UK and the US — currently under review by the Trump administration.
Instead, the bilateral agreement, which will be signed in Geelong near Melbourne, “will very much underpin the development of Aukus,” Australia’s Defense Minister Richard Marles told a press conference next to Sydney Harbor on Friday. “It is a profoundly important treaty that we will sign tomorrow.”
Friday’s meeting is part of the Australia-United Kingdom Ministerial Consultations (AUKMIN). Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong are hosting UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defence Secretary John Healey.
The deal is expected to be worth up to £20 billion ($27 billion) to the UK in exports over the next 25 years, the UK’s Foreign Office said in a statement on Friday.
The Times of London reported that under the deal, the UK will build up to a dozen attack submarines with both the Royal Navy and the Australian Navy operating the SSN-Aukus. It said the agreement is part of an effort to persuade the US to stick with the Aukus accord.
More than 21,000 people will work on the conventionally armed, nuclear-powered Aukus submarine program in the UK at its peak, the Foreign Office said. “This historic Treaty confirms our AUKUS commitment for the next half century,” Healey was quoted in the statement as saying.
Under the Aukus agreement signed in 2021, the US and the UK agreed to collaborate on providing Australia with a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines to ramp up Canberra’s defense capabilities in the face of growing strategic competition with China in the Indo-Pacific.
Both sides said they welcomed the US review as a chance to renew the Trump administration’s commitment to Aukus.
“We’re really confident about the progress of the Aukus project and the progress in respect of all three countries,” Marles said.
Under the terms of Aukus, Washington is initially due to sell a fleet of Virginia-class submarines to Canberra, with the first vessels expected to arrive in the early 2030s. The UK and Australia will then collaborate on designing and building a new model of nuclear-powered submarines known as the SSN-Aukus, with the first expected to be ready in the early 2040s.
However, the Pentagon has launched a review of the pact as the Trump administration looks to shift more responsibility to allies and ensure the US’s supply of warships. The review is aimed at making sure that allies contribute more to collective security and that America’s defense industrial base can meet its domestic needs.
On Sunday, the Australian and British defense and foreign ministers will visit the northern city of Darwin to observe the deployment of a UK Carrier Strike Group as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025.

The UK’s new tech law triggers upheaval
By Aaron Mak 07/29/2025
For would-be American tech regulators — and the companies in their sights — the last four days in the UK offer a bracing lesson in unintended consequences.
A new law to promote online safety in the United Kingdom has swept up a lot more content than social media users expected, and a wide range of advocacy groups and disgruntled consumers are rising to object.
The UK’s Online Safety Act took effect Friday to shield minors from “harmful” content — not just pornography, but also material that is hateful, promotes substance abuse or depicts “serious violence.”
The rules apply to any site accessible in the UK, even those based in the U.S. This means sites like Reddit, Bluesky and even Grindr now have to abide by the OSA’s speech regulations to stay online in the country.
“It doesn’t matter where in the world it is, and it doesn’t matter what they’re focused on,” said Preston Byrne, managing partner at the tech law firm Byrne & Storm. “Much of what we consider the ordinary sturm und drang of American political discourse — the ordinary back and forth — in the United Kingdom is unlawful.”
Over the weekend, major U.S.-based platforms implemented measures to comply with the law, and promptly became harder to access. By using a VPN to simulate UK web browsing, DFD was able to confirm reports that content relating to Gaza on X and cigars on Reddit was more restricted in the UK than in the U.S. Some required verification checks necessitating a photo ID or a selfie to verify age. Other content was blocked entirely, though some X posts on Gaza were later restored.
The UK law may not strictly apply to such content, but social media companies apparently aren’t chancing it. Gab, a U.S.-based platform that hosts Nazi and other extremist content, has gone completely dark in the UK to avoid financial and criminal penalties under the safety act.
“Many platforms may […] err on the side of caution to avoid getting caught up in that, and age-gate more than is necessary,” said Jennifer Huddleston, a senior fellow at the Cato institute.
The parallels with U.S. age laws aren’t exact — the First Amendment has more robust protections for hate speech and other content than UK law — but to many watchers, the rollout is a lesson in what happens when lines start to be drawn around the free flow of online information.
The debut of the OSA has been met with swift pushback. After a petition to repeal the act received more than 350,000 signatures, the UK government responded Monday that it had no plans to do so. Nigel Farage, leader of the far-right Reform UK party, has also pledged to repeal the act. VPNs, which route a user’s internet traffic through another country, have hit the top of the UK’s app download charts.
President Donald Trump seemed fairly unbothered by the law during his trip to Scotland on Monday, joking about how it might impact his platform, Truth Social. When asked about it during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said, “Well, I don’t think he’s [Starmer’s] going to censor my site, because I say only good things… will you please uncensor my site?”
Proprietors of other U.S.-based social media sites aren’t so sure. Reddit, X, Discord and BlueSky have all implemented age verification checks and other measures to abide by the safety act. Wikipedia is also challenging the act in a UK court, though the lawsuit regards a different provision that would require it to identify many of its contributors.
The penalties for failing to comply may be severe. The country’s Office of Communications, which oversees the safety act, has sent enforcement letters to at least three websites operating outside of the UK in March and April. Byrne exclusively provided DFD with letters that Ofcom sent to Gab and a site that promotes suicide, and directed DFD to another sent to Kiwi Farms, an online forum that has been criticized for enabling harassment and cyberstalking.
The letters demand that the sites conduct “illegal content risk assessments” and provide a report to Ofcom of the presence of CSAM, material promoting drugs and weapons, hate speech and other types of “illegal content.” They also note that failure to comply with the directives could result in a fine of £18 million or 10 percent of worldwide revenue, and “may also constitute a criminal offence.”
Ofcom did not respond to DFD’s questions about the letters.
Gab CEO Andrew Torba told DFD that Gab has reached out to the U.S. government for help. “[W]e hope President Trump will remind the British that American speech is governed by the Constitution, not British prosecutors,” he wrote in an email. The White House referred DFD to Trump’s exchange with Starmer when asked about the matter. Kiwi Farms and the site promoting suicide did not respond.
The implementation of the OSA comes shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court effectively upheld age verification laws that at least 23 states have in place. While those laws focus on pornography and are more limited than the UK’s law, the rollout of the safety act may offer certain lessons for states passing and enforcing age verification requirements.
“We’re seeing that regardless of where you implement these laws and these measures, users are still frustrated,” said Paige Collings, senior speech and privacy activists at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, who pointed out that Florida also saw a spike in searches for VPNs after it implemented an online porn law in January
“The more of this that we see, it feels like it should be harder for policymakers to continue ignoring the mounting pressure and continue pursuing this approach,” she told DFD, adding that more targeted regulation for data collection and content moderation algorithms could be a better method of keeping kids safe online.

Some good, or low, quality printing paper appears to be a good idea atm. Anyone know how this publication (picrel) was created and distributed?
By hand? On foot? God speed, England. Learn to print. Fly below the radar. Would love to see the panic created by a few pamphlets and posters seen in every major town.

Hmmm….
What if the "Clock Tower" is only a passing reference to Big Ben and was the name of the UK gov't Operation?
Suppose that most of Parliament was unaware and only those closely associated with Intel were involved. What gains to UK were to be had if Hillary had "won"? Old favours being called in? Any from Parliament been to Epstein's island? What about U1? Does the "+22" include Gina Haspel and Bill Priestap? What about Swalwell? No way China did not have great interest in Hillary Admin

Interestingly, 2200 hrs = 10(pm).
And 22 (as the clockface uses Roman numerals) is written XXII.
No such number on the clock right? But taken as X and XII, we would have hand positions at 10 and 12, which taken as hour and minute hands, would indicate 10:00. Still just for fun. o7

AUSTRALIA BANS MACHETES DUE TO RISING ATTACKS
Australia’s Victorian Government has set up a “machete amnesty” in support of disposing machetes safely from Sept. 1 until November, as the southeastern state becomes the first to carry out a ban on the weapons.
Machetes will be criminalized in Victoria on Sept. 1, following a series of violent knife crimes and home invasions.
Why is this happening, I thought when they banned the guns all crime would stop. Hopefully this ban will once and for all stop crime.

BRITAIN HAS AWAKENED: Manchester MASSIVE Anti-Immigration Protest Shows Citizen Pushback Against Starmer’s Suicidal Policies Has Gained Unstoppable Momentum
by Paul Serran Aug. 4, 2025
Citizens’ mass protests in the UK express the majority’s feelings.
Under the rule of leftist Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the invasion of the British islands continues unabated – but now, the pushback from the citizenry has seemingly escalated beyond the point of no return.
This weekend, UK has grinded to a halt wile ‘asylum hotel’ protests demanding ‘remigration’ take over major cities
A cursory look shows that at least London, Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton, Rotherham, Tamworth and Middlesbrough saw big demonstrations.
British patriots fight back against the fraying of their social fabric due to the mass immigration catastrophe.
Sky News reported:
“The protests were held outside hotels used to house asylum seekers who entered the UK, with the demonstrations leading to 15 arrests.
The protest in Manchester’s city center saw a clash between counter-protesters, and the two groups briefly scuffled before police arrived on the scene.”
The ‘Britain First’ group organized the protest in Manchester that saw roughly thousands of people waving English and Union Jack flags.
“The group reportedly marched from Manchester Piccadilly station to outside the Central Library before a rally was held.”
As for the confrontations that took place – it’s the work of the ubiquous Antifa thugs.

CONSERVATIVES RULE: GB News Overtakes the BBC and Becomes UK’s Most Watched News Channel
by Paul Serran Aug. 3, 2025
In the UK as in the US, conservative news outlets vastly outperform channels parroting leftist-globalist narratives.
It’s been reported that GB News has for the first time overtaken the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to become the most watched TV news channel in the United Kingdom.
Daily Mail reported:
“New figures show that GB News beat both the Beeb [BBC] and Sky News in terms of viewing figures during key slots in July.
It marks the first time BBC News has been overtaken by GB News for an entire month and comes just after the start-up broadcaster celebrated its fourth birthday.”
“The figures have come from the television industry’s BARB ratings, which track total share and average views. They show that GB News pulled in an average audience of 80,600 across each day in July. This compares to BBC News which had 78,700 viewers in the same month and Sky News with 67,000.”
Ben Briscoe, GB News’ Head of Programming, celebrated the end of the dominance for the BBC News Channel and Sky News.
Briscoe also told the Daily Mail that they will launch a in September a brand-new show from Washington DC.
“GB News was launched in 2021 and has rapidly grown into a major player in the UK media landscape.
It was the first new entrant into the UK’s media sector in more than three decades, and has also expanded to become a national radio network.”

UK Funds Demonstration of Ammonia-Fueled High Temperature Engine
Published Aug 5, 2025 6:28 PM by The Maritime Executive
A demonstration project for the development of an ammonia-fueled engine has been selected for the UK's Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, according to sponsor MOL. The project is led by Carnot Ltd., developer of an uncooled, ultra-high-temperature engine that can be adapted to run on most renewable fuels.
Carnot Ltd.'s engine is made out of industrial ceramics, and is not limited by temperature in the way that steel and cast iron engines are. Metallic engine components have to be cooled constantly so that they do not fail, and the removed heat means a power efficiency loss. By getting rid of cooling, Carnot Ltd.'s design keeps efficiency higher and reduces the amount of ancillary equipment surrounding the engine (coolant pumps, radiators/heat exchangers, piping, etc.). Running on diesel, the Carnot Ltd. engine is about 70 percent efficient, or twice as efficient as the average automotive engine.
The company has secured several UK R&D grants for marine engine development, and the latest is aimed at an ammonia-fueled auxiliary engine version. For the project, Carnot Ltd. will have combustion simulation support from University of Southampton, integration support from engineering firm Houlder, and marketing research support from De Courcy Alexander. MOL will advise from a vessel operations perspective.
The project is funded by the UK's robust maritime R&D support policy. The Department for Transport (DfT) has awarded more than $300 million over the last seven years for green maritime technological research.

ROYAL FEUDS: Queen Camilla Angry with Prince William for Encroaching on King Charles’ Powers: REPORT
by Paul Serran Aug. 11, 2025
King Charles against scandalous brother Prince Andrew; prodigal son Prince Harry against his heir-to-the-throne Prince William, against his father the King, against ‘that woman’, his stepmother the Queen.
The Windsor Royal family is rife with family feuds, and now a report arises suggesting another vector of conflict has emerged: Queen Camilla would be urging King Charles to keep his heir, Prince William, from ‘trying to create issues’ within the monarchy.
A former royal photographer has been quoted by the British Press saying that William ‘is overstepping boundaries’ while Charles is still King.
The Daily Express reported:
“Ian Pelham Turner commended Charles for his leadership while suggesting that certain rough edges require ‘smoothing out’ throughout the Royal Family.
The royal insider has observed a transformation in the monarch, believing Camilla has significantly influenced him as Charles regains his vitality.
We spoke to Mr. Pelham Turner during a Zoom call, who said: ‘Charles has great humanity, and I think he just needed the corners smoothed out, and I think that’s what Camilla has done more than anything’.”
Turner said that the Queen sees William ‘trying to create issues’ and she’s told Charles to stop it.
“Pelham Turner shared his thoughts on the matter: ‘I want Charles to have his time, I get it, I think in a lot of ways, he is a very good King, I really do, and I think, where he’s come in his life now with Camilla by his side, Camilla is a much stronger person, I think, for him. […] When I look at Camilla nowadays, although she’s still vilified by women over 50, because they remember Diana, I think in a lot of ways, she’s actually taught Charles how to be human’.”
That’s the exact problem Charles’ estranged son Harry has with Camilla. For him, she will always be the woman who betrayed his mother Diana.
In his memoir ‘Spare’, Harry called Camilla ‘dangerous’ and ‘the villain’, as part of his relentless undermining of his father’s reign.
The New York Post reported back in May 2024:
“Now, a friend of the Firm has claimed that Harry ‘forced’ his estranged father to choose between the Duke and his wife, Queen Camilla — ultimately widening the rift even further.
‘Harry has made things very difficult for himself by saying such cruel and hurtful things about Camilla. Charles loves his sons, but he also loves his wife. The last few months have made it very clear how important she is; she has been the one propping up the whole edifice’.
Harry has made it very clear, very publicly, that he despises her,” the insider added. ‘He has forced Charles to choose, which was a very silly thing to do because Camilla and he both chose each other a long time ago’.”

American logistics company caught on camera transporting dinghies back to France to help more migrants cross the Channel
In August 2023, Ian Simpson from Stop the Invasion filmed inflatable dinghies being loaded onto a truck in Dover and shipped to France.
Illegal migrants had used these dinghies to cross the English Channel from France and, presumably, the dinghies were now being transported back to be reused, to enable more migrants to cross the Channel.
They didn’t even bother deflating the dinghies before being transported, we guess, to facilitate a quick turnaround for migrants.
The truck in the video has the registration RX68YKA. In a Twitter (now X) post, Andrew Bridgen said this particular truck was operated by GXO Logistics, an American global contract logistics company which operates in over thirty countries. It doesn’t own trucks; GXO makes its money by improving efficiencies. In 2023, GXO was recognised as the world’s largest contract logistics provider.
In 2021, GXO (spun out of XPO Logistics) was awarded a five-year contract by the UK government to provide a single-source solution for transport and warehousing for the Home Office’s Border Force operations. This agreement covered the entirety of the UK and Northern Ireland, as well as the UK border in France at Coquelles, with operations commencing in March 2021. It is presumably under this contract that dinghies are being shipped back to France, fully inflated (i.e. not very efficiently), perhaps ready for the next group of illegal migrants to use.
In May 2025, GXO secured a decade-long contract with the UK’s National Health Service (“NHS”) worth $2.5 billion, which involves managing eight NHS Supply Chain distribution centres and overseeing a dedicated fleet of over 300 vehicles.

UK Government Moves to Investigate 4chan Under Draconian ‘Online Safety Act’ — Platform’s SAVAGE Response Leaves Them Humiliated
by Jim Hᴏft Aug. 18, 2025
The British government is at it again, weaponizing its so-called “Online Safety Act” to crack down on speech it doesn’t like.
This time, the target is none other than the online forum 4chan, the notorious online discussion board where anonymous users post unfiltered commentary that sends elites into fits.
On June 10, 2025, Ofcom, the UK’s Orwellian Office of Communications, opened an official investigation into 4chan.
According to Ofcom, the platform failed to hand over information on demand, did not file the “appropriate illegal content risk assessments,” and didn’t bow to London’s censorship mandates. In other words, 4chan refused to bend the knee.
By August 13, Ofcom escalated matters, issuing a provisional notice of contravention under the Act and threatening fines of £20,000 ($27,100) plus daily penalties until the platform complied.
According to the notice:
Provisional Decision: Information Notice duties
In accordance with section 130 of the Online Safety Act 2023, we have today issued 4chan Community Support LLC with a provisional notice of contravention.
Ofcom is satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for believing the provider has contravened its duties under section 102(8) of the Act to comply with two requests for information. We will consider any representations provided in response to this provisional notice before we make a final decision on this matter.
The additional duties under investigation
On 10 June 2025, we opened an investigation into whether the provider of 4chan has failed/is failing to comply with its duties under the Online Safety Act 2023 to:
adequately respond to a statutory information request;
complete and keep a record of a suitable and sufficient illegal content risk assessment; and
comply with the safety duties about illegal content.
Ofcom’s investigation continues to examine concurrently whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that the provider has failed, or is failing, to comply with the other duties under investigation, including duties to protect its users from illegal content. We will provide updates on these matters in due course.
But instead of cowering, 4chan and its legal team fired back with a blistering response that left Ofcom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s censors utterly humiliated.
In a blistering legal statement posted by Byrne & Storm, P.C. and Coleman Law, P.C., 4chan’s lawyers dismantled Ofcom’s fantasy that they had authority over an American company.
The statement went further, warning that U.S. federal authorities had already been briefed and that the Trump Administration should be prepared to step in to defend American companies against foreign censorship mandates.
The statement reads:
According to press reports, the U.K. Office of Communications (“Ofcom”) has issued a provisional notice under the Online Safety Act alleging a contravention by 4chan and indicating an intention to impose a penalty of £20,000, plus daily penalties thereafter.
4chan is a United States company, incorporated in Delaware, with no establishment, assets, or operations in the United Kingdom. Any attempt to impose or enforce a penalty against 4chan will be resisted in U.S. federal court.
American businesses do not surrender their First Amendment rights because a foreign bureaucrat sends them an e-mail. Under settled principles of U.S. law, American courts will not enforce foreign penal fines or censorship codes.
If necessary, we will seek appropriate relief in U.S. federal court to confirm these principles.
United States federal authorities have been briefed on this matter.

NOW: British ‘Migrant Hotel’ in Epping to Close, In VICTORY for Protesting Citizens – May Spell the Beginning of the End of Suicidal Labour Migration Policies
by Paul Serran Aug. 19, 2025
Today, Epping – tomorrow, the whole of the British Isles.
Fed-up citizens of the United Kingdom a minor, but very significant victory in their struggle against Labour party’s suicidal migration policies.
It arises today (19) that dangerous, military-age male migrants are set to be moved out of a controversial asylum hotel in the small city of Epping, after the local council was granted a injunction to shut it down.
Daily mail reported:
“Council leaders won the first stage of their battle to close the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, on planning permission grounds after it became an epicenter of anti-immigration protests, including some which turned violent.
The demonstrations were sparked when a migrant living at the hotel was charged with a series of sexual offences, including some against a 14-year-old girl.”
“A resident at the hotel, Hadush Kebatu, 41, from Ethiopia, was charged with sexual assault, harassment and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.
The incidents allegedly happened within two days, just over a week after the 41-year-old arrived in the UK by boat.
[…] It is alleged Mr. Kebatu tried to kiss a schoolgirl as she ate pizza near a busy high street, and the next day attempted to kiss an adult near a fish and chip shop in the town center, telling her she was ‘pretty’ while putting his hand on her leg.”

Black pipes land in Europe as UK backs ship carbon capture trial
Sam Chambers August 20, 2025
Giant black pipes inserted into the funnels of ships to contain emissions will be seen in Europe for the first time, following UK government funding to get California-based STAX Engineering’s carbon capture kit to British ports.
STAX Engineering is working with UK-based onboard carbon capture specialist Seabound, Associated British Ports (ABP), and Lomar Shipping to tackle emissions from berthed vessels.
The solution, according to STAX, provides a practical, cost-effective alternative to shore power installations, which require significant upfront capital, aren’t viable for all vessel types, and remain largely unbuilt—with major European ports having installed or commissioned only 20% of what is required by EU regulations.
“This project validates what we’ve known for years—ports need emissions solutions that work today without the infrastructure disruptions caused by solutions like shore power,” said Mike Walker, CEO of STAX Engineering.
STAX and Seabound offer a fully integrated emissions solution, first showcased at the port of Long Beach in April, that is immediate, requiring no retrofits or expensive overhauls. STAX’s mobile barge claims to capture up to 99% of particulate matter and 95% of nitrogen oxides (NOx), while Seabound’s unit isolates and stores up to 95% of carbon dioxide and 90% of suphur emissions. The system will debut at ABP’s Southampton port with vessels from UK-based Lomar Shipping.

Man Arrested In UK For Saying "We Love Bacon"
Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news Thursday, Aug 21, 2025
A British man has been arrested for saying “we love bacon” while protesting the building of a proposed giant mosque.
The Telegraph reports that the protest occurred at the site of planned super mosque in the Lake District, which is populated by an almost 100% white population.
The report further notes that the 23-year-old man, was not otherwise being disruptive, causing any damage or being in any way violent.
Muslims are building a Mosque in Dalton, on the edge of the Lake District. On the 16th Aug a man at a protest said "we want bacon."
He was arrested under Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986, suspected of a racially aggravated public order offence. pic.twitter.com/iAcWiXfM3c
— David Atherton (@DaveAtherton20) August 20, 2025
The arresting police officer claims that the grounds for the detainment were “racial abuse.”
A young man was arrested in the UK for saying he loves bacon, which is offensive to Muslims.🤦🏻♂️ pic.twitter.com/akwhpIQxm7
— Don Keith (@RealDonKeith) August 19, 2025
Telegraph writer Isabel Oakeshott notes:
Of course Muslims don’t eat pork. As a result, they cannot share this particular delight with the rest of us. However, despite a steady rise in our own Muslim population, the UK remains a Christian country. Supposedly, we also enjoy free speech. Why then did the unfortunate father find himself frogmarched away from the protest by two police officers?
Saying ‘We love bacon’ is simply a truism. We British do love it, and there is nothing wrong with saying so.
As for remarks about bacon near a religious site or in the company of Muslims, they hardly constitute public disorder, still less ‘racial abuse,’ as the officer who arrested him can be heard suggesting.
The South Lakes Islamic Centre, often referred to as the Kendal mosque due to its proximity to the town of Kendal in Cumbria, is a £2.5 million facility under construction in Dalton-in-Furness on the edge of the Lake District.
Construction began in March 2025, with reports indicating that the structure is now nearing completion despite challenges like suppliers refusing to provide materials amid public backlash.
Opposition to the project has been vocal, with groups staging protests at the site since last month. Critics cite concerns over increased noise, traffic, and cultural impact in a rural area, but a core argument revolves around the region’s demographics: the Lake District and surrounding Cumbria have a Muslim population of approximately 0.4%, or around 2,000 people across the county, raising questions about the necessity of what some dub a “mega mosque” in such a sparsely populated Muslim area.
Detractors suggest it’s disproportionate, especially with nearby facilities like mosques in Carlisle, Penrith, and Whitehaven, and speculate it could signal plans for larger-scale housing or migration to the area.
As we’ve previously highlighted, the Lake District is just one sleepy area of the UK where the government has decided to drop hundreds of illegal immigrants into small villages without notifying or warning residents.
Many who shared the video of the man’s arrest on social media suggested it is yet another example of the ‘two tier’ society that has emerged in the UK.

As Anti-migrant Protests Pick-up Momentum and Mobilize 30 Cities Across Britain, Reform UK’s Nigel Farage Unveils His Plans for Mass Deportation of Illegals With 5 Flights Taking Them Out per Day
by Paul Serran Aug. 23, 2025
The scourge of unchecked mass migration pushed Britons to the limit.
There is an ongoing ‘Raise the Colours’ operation in full swing in the UK, with citizens decorating their cities and towns with the union jack and the St. George’s Cross – a wave of patriotism that is spreading faster than the Globalist establishment and Labour councils can tear the flags down.
Not only that, but today, more than 30 protests are being held in towns including Bristol, Exeter, Tamworth, Cannock, Nuneaton, Liverpool, Wakefield, Newcastle, Horley, Canary Wharf, as well as Aberdeen and Perth in Scotland, and Mold in Wales.
In the meantime, Reform UK’s Nigel Farage has unveiled his £10billion ‘mass deportation’ plan that would implement five daily migrant deportation flights leaving the UK when Reform takes power.
The so-called ‘Operation Restoring Justice’ would also prohibit small boat migrants from claiming asylum in the UK.
Daily Mail reported:
“They would be held in detention centers on ‘surplus’ RAF bases while awaiting deportation, with the Government being required to build detention centers capable of holding 24,000 people within 18 months.
As many as five charter flights would leave the country every day, deporting hundreds of thousands of migrants. They would also be offered the opportunity to ‘deport themselves’ using an app and given £2,500 to leave the country.”
Farage would explore deals with countries such as Rwanda and Albania to house asylum seekers after they are deported.
“’The aim of this legislation is mass deportations,’ Mr Farage said in an interview with the Times. ‘We have a massive crisis in Britain.'”
“‘It is not only posing a national security threat but it’s leading to public anger that frankly is not very far away from disorder. There is only one way to stop people coming into Britain and that is to detain them and deport them.’
He added: ‘Who is our priority? Is it the safety and security of this country and its people? Or are we worrying about everybody else and foreign courts? That’s what it comes down to. Whose side are you on?’”

Socialist UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner Buys Million Dollar Third Home
Britain’s leftist Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner reportedly purchased her third home, worth nearly a million dollars amid the growing housing crisis she has been tasked to solve.
Ms Rayner, the Labour MP for Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester and the government’s housing minister, purchased a “luxury seaside” three bedroom apartment in the British beachtown of Britghton earlier this year.
The self-described socialist deputy prime minister is said to have paid £700,000 ($947,000) for the property, which represents her third home, alongside her ministerial London flat and her £650,000 ($879,000) home in her constituency, according to a report from The Sun newspaper.
The purchase may further undermine Rayner’s public image as a supposed champion of the working class, having been born on a council estate in Manchester.
Rayner previously faced criticism over accepting thousands in “freebie” gifts and donations from Labour billionaire donor Lord Ali, including £3,550 worth of free clothes.
Questions have also been raised over her property taxes, with oppostion politicians claiming that she “flipped” her primary residency after entering government to avoid paying the second home higher rate of council tax. She has so far not confirmed if this is the case.
Shadow Housing Secretary James Cleverly told the Mail on Sunday: “Angela Rayner is responsible for housing policy, yet she won’t even be straight about her own.
“Time and again she’s been asked to declare exactly what properties she owns and where she pays council tax, and time and again she has dodged those questions.
“Now we find out she’s got three homes. We’ve done everything possible to get answers, but she still refuses to come clean.
“That matters, because this is the same Deputy Prime Minister who has hiked taxes on family homes across the country.”
While the leftist politician now has three homes, millions of Britons are struggling to get on the property ladder. According to recent research from the Centre for Policy Studies, the UK currently has 6.5 million homes fewer than needed amid a lack of building and mass migration.
Rayner has vowed to build 1.5 million new homes in Britain, however, so far plans have been stalled and home building has fallen to a near decade low under the Labour government.

Interpol Leads Major Cybercrime Bust in Africa: 1,209 Arrests and $97 Million Recovered
by Robert Semonsen Aug. 24, 2025
A major international operation coordinated by Interpol has resulted in significant arrests and asset recoveries across Africa.
Known as Operation Serengeti 2.0, the effort spanned from June to August 2025 and involved law enforcement from 18 African nations along with the United Kingdom.
The operation focused on combating various forms of cybercrime that have impacted thousands of individuals worldwide.
Authorities arrested 1,209 suspects during the operation and recovered approximately $97.4 million in illicit funds.
Nearly 88,000 victims were identified as targets of these schemes, with investigators dismantling 11,432 malicious infrastructures used in the crimes.
These actions highlight the extensive reach of organized cybercriminal networks operating in the region.
The crimes targeted included inheritance scams, ransomware attacks, and business email compromise operations. Inheritance scams, despite being among the oldest online frauds, continue to generate substantial revenue for criminal groups.
Ransomware and email compromises have been identified as rising threats in Africa, according to Interpol’s assessments.
In Angola, law enforcement shut down 25 illegal cryptocurrency mining facilities run by 60 Chinese nationals.
Equipment valued at over $37 million was seized, and the government intends to repurpose it for electricity distribution in underserved communities.
This action addressed unauthorized blockchain activities that strained local resources.
Zambian authorities disrupted a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment scheme that defrauded more than 65,000 victims of an estimated $300 million.
The scammers used aggressive advertising to lure investors into downloading apps for supposed high-yield returns, leading to 15 arrests and the seizure of domains, phone numbers, and bank accounts.
The investigation also uncovered a potential human trafficking ring and confiscated 372 forged passports from multiple countries.
In Côte d’Ivoire, officials dismantled a cross-border inheritance scam that originated in Germany and caused $1.6 million in losses to victims. The primary suspect was arrested, with assets such as electronics, jewelry, cash, vehicles, and documents recovered.
The operation received support from private sector partners including Kaspersky, Group-IB, Fortinet, and others, enhancing investigative capabilities.
Funding came from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, under the framework of the African Joint Operation against Cybercrime.
Pre-operation workshops trained investigators in tools for open-source intelligence, cryptocurrency tracking, and ransomware analysis.

This follows the inaugural Operation Serengeti in 2024, which led to over 1,000 arrests and assisted 35,000 victims.
Each successive effort builds on prior successes by improving information sharing and skills among participants.
Interpol’s Secretary General noted that growing contributions strengthen global networks and deliver tangible results for victims.
Participating countries included Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Seychelles, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The operation underscores the importance of international collaboration in tackling cybercrimes that cross borders. Such initiatives aim to protect vulnerable populations from evolving digital threats.

UNREAL- British pub owner refuses entry to people wearing the flag of their country
26 August 025
An unprecedented incident shook daily life in England when a British pub refused entry to customers carrying their own country's flag. What might seem trivial has become a focus of debate about national identity, freedom of expression, and the growing imposition of arbitrary rules by certain local administrations. Witnesses and affected patrons reported that the ban is clear and direct: carrying the English flag in a pub located in England may result in being denied service, regardless of whether the visitors' intent is simply to show national pride.
The pub owner claimed it was a “simple rule by management” and that not allowing entry with national flags is part of an internal policy that must be followed strictly. However, for many citizens, this represents an abuse of authority and a clear contradiction: how is it possible that in one's own country, a basic symbol like the national flag can be prohibited? The incident quickly went viral on social media, where thousands expressed outrage over what they see as censorship and discrimination within Britain itself.
During the confrontation, a tense exchange took place between the customer and pub staff. Video recording was prohibited inside the establishment, while the visitor insisted on understanding the reason for the ban. Despite the owner's persistence and administrative justification, the situation sparked public debate about the limits of private authority versus citizens' rights. Additionally, the comparison with other foreign flags, such as the Palestinian flag, highlighted a double standard many find unacceptable: the English flag is banned, while others can be displayed without issue.
This case occurs amid a broader context of demographic changes in England due to increasing immigration pressure. Cities such as London, Birmingham, and Manchester have experienced significant growth in migrant populations, creating cultural and political tensions over preserving traditional British values. Many citizens feel that national identity is at risk and that imposing rules like banning the English flag reflects an increasing fear among establishments of cultural conflicts or political confrontations. For conservatives, the pub situation is a microcosm of a larger problem: mass immigration has altered social balance and incentivized administrative decisions that prioritize neutrality over protecting national identity.
The case has alarmed those who defend national pride and traditional British values. Conservative analysts argue that situations like this reflect a troubling trend of restricting patriotic symbols and silencing expressions of identity while ignoring the challenges of mass immigration. The controversy also raised questions about business owners' freedom versus the obligation to respect customers' fundamental rights, particularly in contexts where there is no conflict or real threat, only the display of a national emblem.
The pub situation in England highlights the tension between private administration and citizens and reflects a broader phenomenon: the imposition of arbitrary rules that can undermine individual freedom and social cohesion. The viral spread of the incident has generated a wave of support for the affected patrons, emphasizing the importance of defending national pride, questioning policies that aim to limit traditional symbols, and addressing immigration challenges without losing British identity.
Ultimately, the episode concluded with the customer leaving the pub after a verbal exchange full of tension and frustration. The incident leaves a clear lesson: defending national symbols, questioning arbitrary decisions, and preserving identity in the face of demographic changes remain relevant in British society.

Migrant Hotel Rights Trump Local Rights Says Government in Bid to Overturn Epping Injunction
By Oliver JJ Lane 28 Aug 2025
The rights involved with the national government housing asylum seekers trumps the rights of local residents represented by their district council, government lawyers told a court on Thursday as they sought to have an injunction against a migrant hotel overturned.
The British government is fighting a rearguard action against a court ruling which, it argues, could collapse the national asylum system by arguing its rights to act trumps local rights, that concerns over migrant crime are not “rational”, and that in any case the asylum system is in the national interest.
The appeal concerns the controversy surrounding the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, which was converted in to what is called a migrant hotel — a government funded accommodation for boat migrants who flout legal routes into the UK to claim asylum — which was subject to an injunction earlier this month. The hotel had been ordered to close to migrants because the local council has successfully argued in a lower court that the hotel was ignoring planning (zoning) laws by acting not as a hotel but as a permanent residence for 138 men without change of use permission.
Submissions from government lawyers, and lawyers speaking on behalf of the Bell Hotel challenging that ruling were heard before a panel of judges at the Court of Appeal in London today for a ruling expected tomorrow.
In court, lawyers acting for the local council accused the government of having built their argument on “generalised assertions” rather than hard facts, and pointed out that there is nothing in law that says the government trying to house asylum seekers and illegal migrants is so important that it overrules all other UK law.
Extraordinarily, the government’s lawyers argued that while the rights of local people as represented by their District council were important, they were not “equal” to the rights of the government to house migrants, reports The Daily Telegraph. These competing rights are “fundamentally different in nature” and the “relevant public interests in play are not equal”, they said.
Much of the government’s arguments fell back on the notion that it has to house boat migrants, and therefore shouldn’t be impeded in doing that, and that the arguments being held against it aren’t genuine legal concerns but rather thinly disguised “animosity towards asylum seekers”.
It is in the “national interest” that asylum seekers are accommodated, they said, and argued that the government has “a fundamental statutory duty” to house “very large numbers of (potentially) destitute asylum seekers”. These legal duties, of course, exist only because the government wants them to: with a commanding majority in Parliament, the left-wing Labour government can pass any law it wishes, including ones that could relieve it of the statutory duties it claims to be bound by, or the influence of foreign courts.
The government also claimed migrant hotels need special protection from local council powers because they are “Critical National Infrastructure”. In doing so their lawyers may have given appearance of creating a new definition of that well-established term on the fly.
Indeed, the government’s own documentation explains what constitutes Critical National Infrastructure quite clearly, being infrastructure that if damaged, destroyed, or lost “could result in significant loss of life or casualties… Significant impact on national security, national defence, or the functioning of the state”. Examples of such infrastructure include nuclear power stations, the police force, or the food system.
The government also argued that the council’s use of planning (zoning) to force the closure of the hotel was dishonest, because actually their motivation had been dealing with the now long-running anti-migrant-hotel protests in Epping that began after a resident was accused of sexually assaulting a local girl.
Concern about migrants in hotels are “fuelled by dis-information on social media”, the government’s lawyers said, while arguing that claims about migrant crime are actually not “rational” or proven at all. The lawyer said: “that fear arises from a very small number of incidents, which are acknowledged to be serious, as opposed to any rational view that the individuals accommodated in general terms have a greater propensity to criminal activity… That was not a conclusion that can or should have been reached at all and we say was not one Epping that was in a position to advance.”
Epping Council’s lawyers, for their part, pushed back on the claims of the government that it has special rights because of the perceived urgency of housing migrants. They asserted that housing asylum seekers is not, in fact, “more important” than local concerns and pointed out that migrant hotels do not have “special dispensation” to flaunt planning law.
They said in a submission lodged with the court: “The planning regime enacted by Parliament does not give… special dispensation merely because they are accommodating asylum seekers. Nor has Parliament decreed that the public interest in accommodating asylum seekers trumps the public interest in maintaining planning control.”
In all, they said: “The task of supporting asylum seekers is not inherently more important than addressing local concerns… particularly where there is public disorder, although that appears to be the [Home Secretary’s] assumption.”
The case is, as observed even by the political editor of The Times, the UK’s newspaper of record, “political poison” and “toxic” for the Labour government, given they fought and won a general election last year in part on a promise to close all migrant hotels. Now just 13 months later they are fighting an increasingly bitter legal battle to keep them open, against their manifesto promises.

19 Local British Councils Vowing Legal Action to Remove Migrants From Hotels, as Judge Who Allowed Illegals in Epping Hotel Is Reported to Conduct Authority for Leftwing Bias
by Paul Serran Aug. 30, 2025
The British are fighting back treasonous Starmer and his Globalist Labour leftists.
We reported yesterday on how the unpopular Keir Starmer government got a ‘legal victory’ by betraying the British citizens and keeping the controversial Epping migrant hotel open.
But today, losses for the Labour Globalist hacks are coming from every possible direction – as the UK citizenry is fighting back.
To begin with, no less than 19 local councils are now vowing to ‘take legal action to kick asylum seekers out of hotels’.
Daily Mail reported:
“Furious protesters have gathered outside migrant hotels in towns and cities such as Newcastle, Swindon and Falkirk after the Court of Appeal yesterday overturned an injunction ordering the removal of 138 migrants from an accommodation in Essex.
It comes as the Labour government was last night facing accusations from senior Tories that it is ‘taking the side of migrants over Britons’.”
Today, more councils joined the fight against asylum hotels.
“Reform UK has said that all 12 councils it controls should be exploring legal options to stop asylum seekers being housed in local hotels.
[…] And at least four Labour-run authorities – Wirral Council, Stevenage Borough Council, Tamworth Borough Council and Rushmoor Borough Council – have also vowed to take action.”
In the meantime, the ‘progressive’ judge Lord Justice Bean, who ruled that the ‘asylum seekers’ (a.k.a. illegal migrants) can remain in Epping, has been reported to the conduct authority for alleged ‘bias’ over ‘links to leftwing causes and organizations’.
The Telegraph reported:
“Steven Barrett, a prominent barrister, on Thursday said he submitted a complaint to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office arguing that Lord Justice Bean ‘should not have heard the Bell Hotel appeal’ because of apparent conflicts of interest.
Those included his status as a founding member of Matrix Chambers which, Mr. Barrett claims, is ‘firmly associated with advocacy in favor of allowing migrants to stay’.
[…] Mr. Barrett highlighted that Lord Justice Bean had been a Labour Party member for 28 years, had formerly served as deputy chairman of the Society for Labour Lawyers, and is a former chair of the Fabian Society, a socialist think tank ‘which advocates in favor of migrants’.
The barrister alleged that in presiding over the case, ‘Lord Justice Bean erred, in failing to properly consider, or if not fail to consider, fail to properly apply, the test of ‘apparent bias’. ‘In my opinion, Lord Justice Bean has erred in agreeing to hear such an important case, when it involves his friends in Labour’.”

‘Raise the Colours’ — People Raising English Flag in England Are ‘Extremists’, Declares Far-Left MP
By Kurt Zindulka 1 Sep 202
A top Labour parliamentarian has accused those involved in the anti-mass migration campaign to raise the England flag in England of being “extremists”.
Member of Parliament for Norwich South Clive Lewis has claimed that the so-called “far-right” are behind the patriotic “raise the colours” campaign of hanging England’s St George’s cross flag and the Union Jack in his constituency after flags were raised outside of a migrant hotel in Bowthorpe last week.
Speaking to the local Eastern Daily Press, the Caribbean-heritage MP said that while “some” may be flying the flag out of national pride, he claimed that “far‑right groups are using these flags to mark territory and intimidate the vast majority who reject their extreme views.”
“They’re trying to drag the flag back into being just their flag, only for their purposes of division and intolerance, undoing the brilliant way our multi‑heritage England teams turned it into one of unity and pride,” Lewis continued.
“I’ve raised residents’ concerns with the county council – they can’t look the other way when extremists use our streets to send an intimidating message.”
Lewis, a former Labour leadership candidate and member of the party’s Socialist Campaign Group, has previously been asked by police to refrain from attending pro-open borders counter-demonstrations held in opposition to locals protesting the migrant hotel in his constituency.
The police have previously asked him not to attend for fear of stoking further tensions after he was seen at a December protest shouting into a megaphone that some opponents of mass migration were “racists” and “fascists”.
The “raise the colours” acts of peaceful civil disobedience have also been branded as racist, with far-left Black Studies Professor Kehinde Andrews claiming that both the St George and Union Jack flags represent “white supremacy” while quipping that “there ain’t no black in the Union Jack.”
Nevertheless, there appears to be widespread support for the campaign, with a survey last week from More in Common finding that 58 per cent of Britons want to see more Union Jack and England flags raised on street furniture and infrastructure.
Unlike left-wing run councils, which have acted quickly to remove England flags, notably quicker than they did to remove Palestinian flags, the Norfolk County Council said that it will not “prioritise the removal of such flags over any more urgent highway activity.”
Despite the moral outrage from those on his side of the political aisle, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has so far refused to condemn the flag-raising campaign. On Monday, the Labour leader told the BBC: “I’m a supporter of flags.” Starmer added that he has a St George’s Cross in his apartment in Downing Street, and said that the flag is a “great symbol of our nation”.
Under heavy pressure amid the national anti-migrant hotel protest movement, which has seen demonstrations take place across the UK every week over the past two months, Starmer also said that he hopes to end the scheme of accommodating supposed asylum seekers in hotels at taxpayer expense ahead of the previous deadline of 2029.
However, he would not commit to a firm end date for the controversial Conservative Party-era programme that is currently housing over 30,000 migrants, many of whom arrived illegally across the English Channel from France.
Meanwhile, the flag-raising campaign has also begun to spread in neighbouring Ireland, drawing further accusations of racism for raising the Republic’s tricolour flag.
Left-wing Labour Councillor Darragh Moriarty sensationally claimed that those raising the Irish flag in Ireland were borrowing from “English nationalism”, despite the tricolour having been the symbol of Irish independence from Britain. Moriarity went on to call for the local Dublin government to “remove flags that have been put up with hateful intent.”
“People are going around putting these flags up, videoing themselves, saying they are reclaiming our city, they’re taking it back, and I think that kind of hateful rhetoric has to be stamped out,” he said.

Norway Selects British Frigates In $13.5B Defense Deal
By Nora Buli and Terje Solsvik Reuters August 31, 2025
OSLO, Aug 31 (Reuters) – Norway said on Sunday it had chosen Britain as its strategic partner for the acquisition of new frigates in its biggest ever military investment, in a deal worth some 10 billion pounds ($13.51 billion) to boost the Nordic country’s maritime defense.
Germany, France, Britain and the United States had offered rival frigate designs in competition.
“The frigates are an essential part of our defense because they are key to defend our sovereignty,” Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere told a press conference.
Norway is NATO’s monitor for the vast 2 million square kilometers (772,000 square miles) area of the North Atlantic used by the Russian northern fleet’s nuclear submarines.
A key mission for the frigates will be to monitor Russian submarines, whose base is on the Kola Peninsula, an area in the Arctic bordering Norway.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the deal, which he said was worth 10 billion pounds.
The deal will eventually see a combined fleet of 13 anti-submarine warfare frigates – eight British and at least five Norwegian – operate jointly in northern Europe, he added.
British officials, seeking economies of scale for their own navy and to boost Scotland’s shipyard industry, had heavily promoted the BAE Systems’ BAES.L frigates, known as the T-26 City-class.
The deal would support 4,000 jobs across the United Kingdom, including more than 2,000 in Scotland, the British government said.
Norway shares a border with Russia and is ramping up defense spending in light of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and U.S. President Donald Trump’s demand that NATO allies must bolster their own military strength.
The draft agreement with Britain also guarantees industrial cooperation with Norwegian industry equivalent to the total value of the acquisition, the Norwegian government said.
Norway, a nation of 5.6 million people, currently operates four frigates. It previously said it could order five frigates, with an option for an additional one.
“This will be the biggest purchase to date. And we are now entering final contract negotiations,” Gahr Stoere said.
