EU could cancel visa-free travel for Israelis – Euronews

Brussels has introduced new rules that couldplace restrictions on countries found in violation of the UN charter or international humanitarian law

Israel could face a suspension of its visa-free access to the EU’s Schengen area under new rules approved by European lawmakers, Euronews reported on Wednesday. This comes shortly after the Jewish state launched a bombing campaign against Iran, prompting retaliatory attacks.

The new rules amend the visa suspension mechanisms to include violations of the UN Charter, human rights, breaches of international humanitarian law, and defiance of international court rulings. Israel is among the countries most at risk following allegations of war crimes in Gaza raised by the UN, Euronews wrote, citing sources in the European Parliament.

“This tool helps us deliver the values that have built our community,” Slovenian MEP Matjaz Nemec, the bill’s rapporteur, told the news outlet.He insisted that “no specific country is being targeted,” although European Parliament sources said Israel was a focus for several political groups pushing for the reform.

Currently, citizens from 61 countries – including Israel, the UK, Japan, and Australia – may enter the Schengen area for up to 90 days without a visa. So far, the EU has suspended visa-free access only once, in the case of the Republic of Vanuatu for its alleged citizenship-by-investment scheme.

Under the new rules, the European Commission can impose a one-year suspension through an implementing act, which only needs the approval of member states and can be blocked by a qualified majority. Extensions require a delegated act, which can be blocked by either the European Council or Parliament.The process can be initiated by the Commission or prompted by an EU member state.

The deal still awaits formal approval by the full European Parliament and Council before becoming EU law.

The reform follows widespread international condemnation of Israel’s conduct in Gaza and its recent military operation against Iran. Russia has denounced Israel’s actions against Iran as “illegal” and warned they could trigger a “nuclear catastrophe.”

Israel began bombing Iran on Friday, claiming Tehran was close to building a nuclear weapon. Iran denied the accusations and responded with drone and missile strikes.

On Friday night, Oct. 10, 2025 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, believers in the Roswell UFO crash will face off against defenders of Washington state’s lesser-known Maury Island Incident in a public debate.

One side cites a UFO crash with alien bodies in the desert; the other points to slag, a Man in Black, and a doomed B-25 bomber with the first two casualties for the newly-independent Air Force near Kelso, Washington.

But this won’t be just a fight over flying saucers — it’s about which version of 1947’s “Summer of the Saucers” deserves the spotlight.

The event will be hosted by Resident Roswell Researchers and the Washington-based United Festivals of UFOs (UFO-UFO), two camps often at odds over UFO lore.

They’ve issued a rare joint statement announcing the debate in hopes of settling their differences — or at least spotlighting them.

The purpose? According to the Joint Statement:

“To jointly and publicly address long-standing questions and controversies (some might say, grievances) relating to the history, mythology, and legacy of the 1947 Summer of the Saucers, specifically including 1947 UFO incidents (both famous and infamous) occurring in Roswell, New Mexico, Mt. Rainier, Washington, and Maury Island, Washington.“

The Washington State and Roswell representatives agree on many of the facts and circumstances of these iconic UFO episodes: that UFOs have become “big business,” and that current popular culture relating to UFOs and UAPs, the so-called “Men in Black,” and even aliens, is directly descended – with little change – from the events of 1947.

However, the Joint Statement asserts that “central to our disagreements are the facts, circumstances, and competing legacies of Roswell, Kenneth Arnold’s Mt. Rainier sighting, and Maury Island.”

The Joint Statement identifies debate topics that include:

Who’s to blame (or credit) for launching the 1947 Summer of the Saucers? Is it the businessman pilot who first brought these objects to the public attention?

Is it the unfortunate Maury Island eyewitness who failed to heed the warning of the Man In Black? Or could it be the long shadow of Roswell, obscuring all that has come before or since?

Do the current legacies of these three 1947 events accurately reflect their true historical and mythological importance?

The festival organizers seek to underscore the historical and pop-culture significance of Washington’s 1947 UFO sightings, both famous (Kenneth Arnold’s June 24, 1947, Mt. Rainier sighting of nine flying discs) and infamous (the notorious “Maury Island Incident,” featuring the origins of the iconic, so-called “Men in Black”).

Neutral Debate Site

Organizers selected a neutral site for the Oct. 10 debate: Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, at the Truth or Consequences Brewing Company. Organizers seized upon the wordplay in concluding the Joint Statement:

“These important questions, and others of less importance, will be debated on October 10, 2025, in the neutral territory of Truth Or Consequences, NM, at the Truth or Consequences Brewery.

Only a quarter of Ukrainian recruits join army willingly – MP

Mobilization figures also suggest Kiev’s efforts to attract young volunteers are falling short

Fewer than one in four Ukrainian military recruits enlist on their own initiative, with thevast majority entering service through brutal compulsory conscription, a Ukrainian lawmaker has said. Kiev previously offered younger men not subject to the draft perks for volunteering.

Ukraine’s military relies onmandatory enlistment for men aged 25 to 60, enforced by the country’s Territorial Centers of Recruitment and Social Support (TCR), which have been widely criticized for aggressive tactics and abuses. Some units have established offices aimed at attracting volunteers, some of whom are eligible for compulsory draft and seek better conditions, including improved training and equipment, by reporting for duty through the alternative scheme.

The Ukrainian government launched a voluntary recruitment campaign earlier this yeartargeting young men aged 18-24. The initiative offered new enlistees the equivalent of $24,000 and additional perks for a year of service. The campaign ads detailed how many hamburgers or in-game purchases the military wage could buy – a strategy that drew criticism for disrespecting potential recruits.

Officials initiallyclaimed the campaign generated interestfrom as many as 10,000 individuals. However, in April, Pavel Palisa, deputy head of the presidential office overseeing mobilization, revealed thatfewer than 500 recruitshad actually signed contracts. He cited parental opposition and other concerns as deterrents.

Last week, MP Sergey Yevtushok argued thatlowering the draft age by one yearcould yield up to 100,000 additional troops. Ukrainian lawmakers are also targeting the upper end of the age bracket by debating legislation that would permit enlistment ofindividuals over 60.

Earlier this month, military fundraiser and women’s rights advocate Maria Berlinskaya suggested Ukraine could mobilize all adults for military service,including women.

President Donald Trump has nominated Karen Brazell to serve as the next Veterans Affairs Under Secretary for Benefits, putting the senior advisor in charge of processing and management for nearly $200 billion in financial aid to millions of veterans.

USAID Gave Known Con Man $800M Contract To Do Kamala’s Work On ‘Root Causes Of Migration’

Biden admin gave $800M contract to a home-based company despite knowing its manager received past contracts through bribery.

President Joe Biden’s USAID awarded an $800 million contract to a business operating out of a Virginia home even after it formally ruled that its key manager lacked “honesty or integrity” — a reference to the fact that, according to a May 12 guilty plea, he had secured USAID contracts through bribery for a decade.

The contract was for addressing “issues affecting the root causes of irregular migration from Central America to the United States” — the work that Biden assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris, but which she never appeared to address, a Daily Wire investigation found.

The Department of Justice announced Friday that Walter Barnes III, the founder of government contractor Vistant (previously known as PM Consulting Group, or PMCG) and Roderick Watson, a USAID contracting official, pleaded guilty to a bribery scheme in which Barnes and two others conspired to pay Watson $1 million in exchange for $544 million in contracts.

What has not been reported is that the Biden administration continued to steer contracts to Vistant/PMCG even after it knew of the massive corruption: the migration contract, even larger than the $544 million in the indictment, and others that are still active.

The $800 million contract went to a joint venture between Barnes’ company and CollaborateUp, a tiny consultancy run out of a suburban home in Falls Church, Virginia, where its CEO, Richard Crespin — who runs the company while also working at a think tank — lives. The Virginia home was the address listed on the $800 million contract.

In announcing its $800 million contract, CollaborateUp said it would address the “irregular migration from Central America to the United States” by addressing “climate change.” Its website also touts its work “advancing DEIA” and combating “misinformation.”

This year, it added Mark A. Green, a former Republican congressman who served as Donald Trump’s appointee to lead USAID during his first term, to its payroll as a “senior advisor,” according to its website.

Vistant’s criminal scheme relied on joint ventures to exploit a DEI policy called 8(a) contracting, which lets the government award contracts with no or limited competition when the recipient is a racial minority or a small business. It formed a joint venture with a larger company —which was bribing Watson and would actually do the work — so Watson could use Barnes’ status as a black man to steer the contracts to him, rather than being obligated to go through an open competitive process.

Barnes’ company ultimately received hundreds of millions of dollars, stripping his “disadvantaged” status, and the CollaborateUp joint venture reversed the maneuver, relying on CollaborateUp’s status as a small business to win a contract with limited competition, while relying on Barnes and other larger firms to actually do the work.

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on June 15, 2025, while traveling to Zanjan for a religious ceremony. The Russian leader has reiterated Moscow’s readiness to mediate end to hostilities

Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates about the worsening situation in the Middle East, according to the Kremlin.

Tensions flared up last week after Israel launched a large-scale bombing campaign on Iran, claiming that the country is nearing the completion of a nuclear bomb. Iran dismissed the accusations and retaliated with waves of drone and missile strikes.

In a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s willingness to mediate and “facilitate dialogue between the parties to the conflict,” according to the Kremlin readout.

Former USAF Major Tom Haviland joins me to discuss his presentation at the 2025 Tennessee Funeral Directors Association (“TFDA”) Convention – marking the first time a US state funeral directors association has publicly acknowledged that white fibrous clots are real, prevalent and ongoing.

According to Dr. Kevin McCairn et al’s intensive biochemical and microscopic analysis, the white fibrous clots appear to be amyloidogenic fibrin aggregates – abnormal, protease-resistant protein structures likely formed through pathological remodelling of fibrin in the presence of spike protein. The clots exhibit dense, rubbery morphology, strong autofluorescence, beta-sheet-rich domains confirmed by Thioflavin T staining, and ultrastructural features consistent with amyloid fibrils under electron microscopy. Elemental analysis confirmed their organic, protein-based composition, and PCR detected human origin with preliminary markers suggestive of recombinant spike protein exposure.

Now, a whistleblower has come forward to claim that Lockheed executives were so committed to DEI policies that they awarded some year-end bonuses based on employees’ skin color, rather than performance—in open violation of civil rights law.

Pro-Israel Lobby Groups Flood Legacy Media to Pressure U.S. into Iran War

The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a group founded to improve Israel's image, is CNN and Fox News' go-to expert.

President Donald Trump previously opposed war with Iran. He expected to continue nuclear negotiations that were scheduled for last Sunday in Oman. And his own administration confirmed intelligence reports that Iran has not sought a nuclear weapon. That posture disappeared as Israel launched hundreds of surprise attacks across Iran last week, sparking a new war in the Middle East.

Trump has since shifted his position and now leans toward bringing the U.S. into the conflict—a change reportedly influenced by watching cable television showing Israel’s bombardment of Iran, particularly coverage on Fox News.

The information he is receiving, however, is hardly objective.

Turn on any legacy American news program over the past six days since Israel began bombing Iran, and the networks have featured nonstop pro-Israel commentary.

The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), a think tank, exemplifies this trend. While many pro-Israel voices regularly appear as talking heads, FDD officials have surfaced on television, radio, and online outlets almost hourly to promote Israel's war and demand American strikes against Iran.

As soon as the bombing began last Thursday night, former IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus, now a senior FDD fellow, appeared on Fox News to praise the strike. The following day brought a parade of FDD representatives: Conricus on CNN's 3:00 p.m. hour, senior fellow Bill Roggio on Fox News at 4:00 p.m., and CEO Mark Dubowitz on Fox News at 11:00 p.m., according to news transcript searches.

Much of this commentary has been misleading. Conricus falsely claimed that Israel's initial strikes only targeted Iranian military facilities and nuclear sites. In reality, on the very first night, Israel attempted to assassinate Ali Shamkhani, Iran's chief negotiator working with Steve Witkoff, by bombing his family home. Shamkhani—who had praised engagement with the Trump administration and called for normalization with America—reportedly survived but required leg amputation due to his injuries.

FDD operates within a larger ecosystem of pro-Israel advocacy. Dozens of think tanks, Super PACs, institutes, and lobbying organizations work to advance Israeli government positions in American politics.
