According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), five buildings in New York City fully collapsed during the September 11, 2001, attacks. These included the North Tower (1 WTC), the South Tower (2 WTC), the Marriott Hotel (3 WTC), 7 World Trade Center, and the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
Additionally, three other buildings partially collapsed: 4 World Trade Center, 5 World Trade Center, and 6 World Trade Center. Beyond these collapses, FEMA recorded a total of 56 buildings in NYC that were damaged or destroyed, with 11 suffering major damage and 37 sustaining moderate damage. The destruction of the Twin Towers and subsequent debris also obliterated the WTC plaza and underground infrastructure, including the PATH station.
