🇻🇪🇮🇱 VENEZUELA’S CHIEF RABBI URGES RESTORATION OF TIES WITH ISRAEL
Venezuela’s Chief Rabbi Isaac Cohen has asked President Delcy Rodríguez to restore diplomatic and consular relations with Israel, saying renewed ties are needed to address the needs of Venezuela’s Jewish community.
Venezuela cut ties with Israel in 2009 under Hugo Chávez. Relations have reportedly warmed since Rodríguez took office and after Israel provided humanitarian assistance following Venezuela’s June 24 earthquakes.
Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia González praised the Jewish community:
“Venezuela has historically welcomed, with open arms, an important Jewish community, whose contributions have contributed and continue to contribute to the well-being and development of our nation.”
A notable shift after 17 years without formal diplomatic ties.

Today, I visited Fort Knox to see the gold.
