Did you ever realize how easy it is to copybot furniture with all animations included since AVsitter is OpenSource?

That's maybe just relevant for OpenSim people or people who want to share something with 10 friends, but

1. Open your furniture like it would be a box

2. Copybot all the animations with the same name

3. copy the AVpos notecard.

4. Upload everything

5. Drop the animations and the AVpos notecard inside the furniture

6. Drop the AVsitter scripts inside

And done, completely working furniture, already SetUp.

In SecondLife, it won't be worth it, because the upload costs will be a fortune, but for people in OpenSim, this opens so many possibilities of getting nice things fast.

It surprises me that it is still hard to find good furniture with animations in OpenSim, if AVsitter is OpenSource for 10 months now already.

it's definitely not worth the price and risk when the item is still sold in SL but that could be really useful to be able to share stuff that you can't get anymore like NFZ bump boxes for example

It depends on the size of the community you want to share it with and the cost of the item that you copybot.

If the item has 200 animations, you pay 2k uploading costs + maybe 200 for the mesh. Lets say the item costs 500 on the marketplace, you have to share the costs with at least 5 people and you are cheaper.

But saving money is maybe not the only reason why you would want to do that.

If you upload it yourself, you have Full Perm items and you can take those animations and put it in any furniture that you like.

Ever bought BDSM furniture? The items in the best shops start at 1.5k. And BDSM people love to modify their stuff.

If i would be part of any major BDSM community of people that i trust, i would totally start do that.

Here:

https://bitbucket.org/asdfgResident/pyrokitty/downloads/

Install that Firestorm, you can then just right click ->More->More->SaveAs->Collada/Backup on objects.

If it is a mesh, use Collada, if it is a old prim, use Backup.

If a item has both, mesh and old prims, unlink them and link just the mesh prims together and save those as Collada and the other things as backup.

You can uploade them again in Build->Upload->Archive for Backup and Build->Upload->Mesh for Collada.

http://opensimulator.org/wiki/How_To_Upload_Mesh

Here is the mesh upload window explained.

When you are comfortable with that, you can try to upload and add Animations. Thats very easy, thanks to AVsitter, but it takes some time, because you have to save alll few hundred animations of the specific object.

I uploaded it to mega.nz

https://mega.nz/#F!WOJhEYCQ!SOt32CItIGPJMjgk-Nj7ZA

There is a Paper Cranes Folder, thats a simple mesh with 6 textures, you can test uploading mesh with that, it's such a simple mesh that it shouldn't fail.

Then there is a Cuddle Bubble Mesh folder with the Cuddle Bubble mesh and lots of textures for it.

And then a folder with the Animations of the Cuddle Bubble and a AVpos.txt file, thats the AVpos Notecard.

Download the folders with right-click->Download->ZIP.

If you would want to upload the Cuddle Bubble with all it's animations, it would work like that:

1. Upload the mesh with Build->Upload->Mesh with the "Include Textures" checkbox checked on the third tab. Follow the advices on http://opensimulator.org/wiki/How_To_Upload_Mesh if it fails (it can silently fail, then it just takes forever).

2. Check the item inworld and make sure that the pillows in the middle of the bubble are the root prim (should be already the case)

3. Upload all 300 animations with Build->Upload->BulkUpload

4. Put all of them inside the bubble

5. Make a AVpos Notecard and copy the text from AVpos.txt over there

6. Get the AVSitter scripts (on OpenSim you can find them on https://opensimworld.com/hop/80064-The-Conglomerate)

7. Copy the [AV]sitA + [AV]sitB scripts inside TWO times, so you have: [AV]sitA, [AV]sitB, [AV]sitA 1, [AV]sitB 1

8. If you want to adjust poses also [AV]adjuster script and [AV]helper object and read https://avsitter.com

idk what that is, but i guess that you are trying to export rigged mesh clothing / body parts?

Complicated rigged mesh looks like that, the linked parts "snap" to your bones when you wear it.

But when you export it, the rigging will be gone and you have to rig it yourself or use some tool to get the rigging out of the cache (there is an super easy application for that, but i don't have it myself, because i am not doing clothing).

If this thing isn't rigged, then it is maybe a mix of mesh and old prims? Then you don't see the old prims, or you see them and the LI is super fucking high, and uploading will most likely fail.

A friend of mine who did rip whole mesh bodies told me once that he is using some easy tool that someone posted in goonsquad for rigging and that he isn't fucking around with rigging it himself.

I can ask him next time i talk to him, but i think that this super secret tool for kool kids is well hidden behind some paywall or just given from friends to other friends.

I will ask if i can get it and share it.

Ripping things is getting easier and easier once you are used to it. Today i did a 140 prim house, with mesh, prim and sculpted prim mixed and it worked really well. Had to upload it in 3 parts (mesh parts, prim and sculpted and again a small number of mesh parts that got weird in the first upload), but it was fast.

And there are always those little tricks that you just have to find out.

Like if something isn't a really big landscaping object, the Lowest LOD value should always be 0. If it will never be looked at from far away (like if it is in a house), you can set Lower LOD value to 0 too and the Medium LOD should be high.

And if the shape is complex, "Analyze" the physics from one of the Lowest LODs.

Those websites work with three.js

You can use the Firefox Developer Tools and open the network tab while you load the page and you will see that it loads a .obj file somewhere, you can right-click->open in new tab and it will download it.

Import it in Blender -> Export it as dae -> Import it in SL.

I tried it and it worked immediately without having to modify anything.

Problem is that i didn't get the texture of it yet, i was able to get some bump map, but not the actual texture.

I did not spend too much time with it, so you might inspect their page a little more and find out where the texture is hiding.

Most people run their own sims on their own PC or rent some server. Afaik there are grids that give regions away for free, but you always have to expect them to suddenly close. It's easy to make backups, but it is still annoying to change grid.

>Error: Material of model is not a subset of reference model

You can try to upload it with a different older viewer. This error is just viewer related.

Some popular copybotters use the 4 year old onlook viewer. Its based on singularity and it can't view bento, but it is good just for uploading.

Strange upload errors are most of the time viewer related.

Sometimes you have to upload with an old as fuck viewer, sometimes you have to use the most recent one (like if the model changes and fixes joint positions of the rig - petitie bodies in example).

>>47669

You can fix that by either clearing your cache and doing everything all over again, or you login with your regular Firestorm, make sure that you can see the thing that you want to get, and select the regular Firestorm cache in the SL-Meshes application.

The viewer that is exporting the XML does not have to be the same viewer that is providing the cache files.
