I got a big surprise today. My sister called me to help her carry some stuff.
I begrudgingly went to help her and found two boxes full of food in the hall.
Apparently, people from Greek Catholic church charity contacted her and wanted to give her some long lasting food. But she couldn't carry it alone and knew that I couldn't help because by back hurts so people from charity came all the way to where we live and handed it to my sister.
I am still sort of in disbelief about this. There is a virus about outside and impending economic depression right after it and these people give away food for free to complete strangers, which aren't even the same faith as they are…
I am not sure what to think about it, really. I even checked the website of the church in my town and apparently they are having financial problems because church can't hold holy mass nowadays.
I am trying to use money sparingly, especially these days but I will donate some small sum that I can donate. I am don't even like churches…
How about you guys? Does anyone have stories about unexpected acts of kindness?
