Nobody is reasoned into religion so nobody can be reasoned out. It’s the reason there are both very smart and very dumb religious people. Religion is a framework of reality one is psychologically compelled to adopt because it permits one to survive death - the only and highest imperative which can not be satisfied. Nobody approaches the question of “god vs no god” with a cool, sound mind. There is an enormous emotional stake in the outcome. If god is real, you live forever. If not, you die. It’s life and death.
A corollary of this is I think one can say with near-certainty that if there are intelligent aliens on other worlds, who’s North Star is also self-interest, and with finite lifespans, that they, too, at some point, likely early on, were religious. It’s especially easy when one’s understanding of the world is remedial (like Stone Age era), when one still believes in magic, because reality doesn’t push back. But the more you learn, the fewer places there are left for god to hide and so religion kind of becomes a thing you forcefully impose onto reality because you really really want it to be true.
