Remember getting a new computer or gaming console years ago? You’d just turn it in and start using it. Now you have to wait a solid hour for updates and to setup a bunch of bloatware that you don’t want and will never use.

Sonos is one of my favorites to describe the downward spiral
My original sonos units still work, they were extremely well built, almost indestructible,
Oops. They made it too good.
So they fucked us by softwaring us out, no more support, then windows versions move on, all unsupported.
The Sonos community wanted them to open source the original code that was depricated so people could continue to use the products.
Sonos turned into fuckers by cheapening their products and forcing login subscription and even location data.
Its just 1 example of so many others. Tech is full of hucksters.

Get off your fucking ISPs DNS and DHCP servers. This is one of Palantir's main data suck points and model connection points to distribution of your actions to trading partners.
You need your own at home DNS and DHCP servers.
Unbound DNS and PI-hole should be on everyones system. You are being minded for data and being made big money off of without your knowledge or consent.

Auto updates only happened because normies are retarded. Before Karen's and know nothing beta cucks got smart phones (when accessing the internet became easy) no one in their right mind let their computer auto-update. All updates were managed because updates can (and still do) fuck up driver compatibility.
If your shit works there is ZERO reason to update it. Ever. In fact before windows completely went down the jeet shitter it was easy to tell if you were hacked (and to fix it) because you had total control and visibility of all the TSRs (Terminate and Stay resident programs)… now windows allows the Registry to bury commands and settings that run as part of system function calls and can be hidden as protected operations.
Before you could kill any and all processes even if it would crash your PC–now you can't because windows is run by spywayre Cucks and used by retards that don't deserve unfettered access to technology.

I'm not disagreeing that Facebook isn't Lifelong. My point is DARPA turned it into that and had nothing to do with it's initial creation. DARPA came out with MySpace before Facebook and it sucked–they then, later, went all in on Facebook. Zuck is indeed a soulless hack but he stole his work and DARPA anointed him the winner of the contract.
I wouldn't say they're confusing as much as they're all now incestuously connected… except ARPA-E which basically kidnaps scientists for the hidden space program.

Q is a cuck fantasy created to give the illusion that there are people in the government that actually care about the citizens more than they care about the ruling elite… protip: there aren't.
Myspace was the government version and instead of forcing out the competition they just bought it and ran with it. This is very common.
I don't need to go deeper into ARPA-E. It's obvious that publishing a unified theory of physics would crash the economy and break the tech and energy cartels death grip on technology.
ARPA-E and their pets at IBM's primary job is to control physics research and gatekeep public universities science departments. Robert Maxwell (yes that Maxwell family) ran a science publishing business that sold text books to universities for the EXPRESS PURPOSE of making physics confusing and saturating the field of study with dead ends.
Standard model physics is a cult, not a science, and it has kept physics at a stand still for over a half century–this is intentional.

ARPA E is known in my circles differently, but its the same shit. The deep sixing of physics, hiding of IQs and setting up Stony Brook among many others.
The fucker you should dislike is Susskind at Princeton who is almost certainly the main gatekeeper on i with string along theory.
The goal is to deep six any public physics understanding while the secret programs advance way past what anyone on the surface world could ever achieve in a reasonable time to catch up.
Using surface world intentionally because to that world we are normies and the advanced physics exists. I suspect even contact with an old earth civilization is possible explaining antatctica.
We might have a whole American population raised underground ready to replace the surface fucks. This has all evolved way past what we thought possible because thats the nature of physics. Something enormous is being hidden and we are close to finding out. I hope.

Because of half truths.
15 points is a standard deviation. That means 2x smart is 130 IQ. That deviation stunts communication between the parties and a very small minority starts to feel caretaker status over the less endowed.
This was once named the "white mans burden" but has worn many mask before that as a 30 point IQ gap is a very difficult thing to manage as you start to view the opposite as a different species.

I never said standard model wasn't functional, I said it isn't a unified theory and a dead end.
It's pretty clear you don't understand much about the history of silicon computingmuch of it was invented BY ACCIDENT or persistence. The FET, for example, has much more to do with the Maxwell equations than it does QM and the MOSFET was invented by trial and error. The Blue LED was invented by an engineer (Shuji Nakamura), not a physicist, and that's what led to advances in vapor disposition manufacturing… in fact Vapor Disposition itself is an advanced form of lithography that makes 1950s tech microscopicstill following the maxwell equations.
Vapor disposition itself has been around since the late 1920s.
All advancements in the semi conductor industry since the 70s have been production improvements not advances in physics which is the main reason they can not now nor will they ever break the 1NM junction floor (it's actually higher, they just lie about how they measure) because its the lower thermal bounds of silicon and the dopants using vapor disposition lithography.
Tell me one thing standard model physics has done for the semi conductor industry since the 70s–hell, since the 50s.

In fact standard model QM is incompatible with the topological requirements of quantum logic–which is why there is not now nor will there ever be a quantum computer built using Standard Model quantum mechanics.

You're inflecting a lot on a test that comes from a certain people but just from different places
The inventor of the test was a French catholic so you lost me at 20%. I think where we might align is the negative uses found for the test.
20% revolves around testing for capacity, not ethics or morality. It becomes easy to find intelligent psychopaths this way. Smash cut to the modern world. It was not the test, it was the jews in the intel world that used it for the goblinworks.

You seem bent on this desire for the IQ test to be magical, its not. It's a test and it has limitations like any other test has.
I think the definition is getting too muddy. IQ is capacity. IQ test is a test for capacity. All this metaphysical shit has no place in the test. If you are testing a predictive pattern set and asked to predict the next pattern, the you are measuring capacity for pattern recognition.
I will concede that there is a lot of relationship between pattern recognition and risk assessment ability but that crosses outside the boundaries of the test. It is true, still though, that high IQ people tend to assess risk well.

As with anything, there are rigorous practitioners of experimental physics, and then there are scammers just after grant money/donations.
Legit physics which can be proven using easily replicated experiments:
Stern Gerlach experiment - costs less than $10k USD to setup, proves that spin of electrons is quantized (e.g. is not on a continuum, but only has certain discrete values, ±1/2)
Double Slit Experiment - costs probably $500 (diffraction grating & vacuum tube) Proves "wave-particle duality", equivalently Uncertainty Principle (for position vs. momentum).
Semiconductors - The existence of semiconductors proves that electrons can exhibit "delocalization" in certain conditions. This would be impossible under Newtonian physics.

^ These are just "babby's 1st QM proofs" that you can do on a budget. You can easily test and verify more QM discoveries using various tools. Good luck, buck-os!

Checked, but the answer is very simple. MS-BASIC. Paul Allen and Bill Gates programmed a couple emulators and used a Harvard computer for their initial project (that was OK at that time) where they then wrote MS-BASIC in assy for these various platforms. That way they could have a very rapid development cycle with no need to actually buy ANYTHING at all or burn ROMS or flip switches on the microcomputers and fiddle with loading tape and punch cards or keying in each instruction as they had to in those days and pray it all worked. They could develop their software and even automatically test it on their emulators. They built to world's most successful BASIC with nothing but free literature from the CPU companies and Dartmouth (they made BASIC). From scratch.
Gates is often maligned as a nocoder but he worked on code directly right up until the Windows 3 days and he also made the software that launched the whole home computer revolution, software we are VERY MUCH POORER for not having by default on every computer to this day.

These are all companies that changed our state of the art for computing, which were started by grad students who were hackers. Back then you were allowed to just take your work and launch a company with it. Now any ideas you have while a student, or professor, will be part owned by the University. It's Jewish as all hell.

I guess it wasn't 100% from scratch, as Harvard also had Dartmuth BASIC installed so they could run that and compare behavior. Perhaps they disassembled it and looked at the code. In those days automated tools for that probably didn't exist but you could do it by hand of course.
Or maybe they used Darkmutt BASIC interactively to just copy behavior and back-engineer its workings that way. Neither approach was necessary though as they had a document fully describing BASIC so you could just create a clone from that too. The differences between the mainframe they had access to and the microcomputer chips they were targeting probably made just copying the behavior much more efficient. And their BASIC was eventually ported to bigger iron and was indeed way faster. I believe only HP's BASIC was faster, it was also from scratch.

Well it's become clear to tech people that they can't work on stuff as students with University resources. On the plus side our computers are all supercomputers now so students don't need to use the University's resources to build their own stuff.
I don't even know if they HAVE big multi-user Unix machines at Universities and big companies any more. I doubt it. And that's lame - part of Unix's draw (and NLS before it) was the idea of an online community of collegaues who could share communications and information even if they were located remotely.
Now we have like 20 proprietary things to replace a traditional multi-user Unix system. Slack, Teams, OneDrive, Office (gotta have FORMATTING and not just beautiful plain text!), GitHub, etc… All making massive money. Why don't Universities collaborate on making IRC with inline file links and videochat (OH WAIT THEY HAD THAT WITH CUSEEME which could even multicast) and self host and keep the billions of dollars they're paying for shite closed versions of stuff?
To explain it all I'll have to start talking about the Jews. And I don't think that's necessary for this thread.

My phone is shit and this was surprisingly more difficult than it should have been. Aside from the little dots that are nuclear power plants the big areas owned by DoE are in Arizona, Washington, Idaho and South Carolina.
The one in WA is partially the Hanford waste dump from WW2 but it's also a research facility, the one in Nevada is part of area 51 (DoE has all the actual scientists, not DoD) and I have no idea what's going on in Idaho or Georgia.
This is from the National Geographics Family Reference third edition published in 2010. Everything online that has federal lands just lumps them all together. Some separate DoD from everything else but I can't find anything new that shows DoE lands… except this of course. Big reason I bought it in the first place.

Sorry, South Carolina. The dot below the CA in Carolina is DoE land.
Yes, you're seeing that correctly: BLM owns basically all of Nevada, Most of Wyoming, and the better part of southern California.

Here is the approximate size of land in just Idaho controlled by DoE. Obviously the one in Nevada is bigger. There is also a spot in southern California that's pretty sizable.

I hardly watch any of the modern shit, don't care if it's free or not. TV was great back in the 50s to 80s eras and from then on got worse and worse. Hard to find any decent watchable content after the 20th century, with very few exceptions. I'll keep those good 'ol shows on DVD box sets and offline digital copies. No thanks to all the modern Marxism.

Watch it more carefully. The shows are loaded with homos, lots of ped references.
The whole entertainment enterprise is built on subversion from the beginning.
Watch the yt Lolita Shirley Temple Nabilov video. They used to produce shorts with Temple as a prostitute.
They broke those doors long ago, letting your grandparents allow you into their rated R movies, every small bit creeping it forward until now where now their early subversion looks wholesome.

Don't really care, every era has some stupid subversive shit here and there and you can choose not to watch it. Overall, back then the quality of entertainment was far better, it was not completely retarded like it is today, overall far more creative, unique, had better acting and better scripts, media was once created for humans with actual attention spans who could follow a fucking story (!) etc.
What you are comparing here is equivalent to debating the quality of a home built back in the 1960s which on average lasts 80+ years between a modern cookie-cutter home now built to last around 20 years.
