After the FBI fired Steele as a source in October 2016 for leaking, senior DOJ official Bruce Ohr (whose wife worked for Fusion GPS) became an unauthorized back-channel to keep funneling Steele/Fusion GPS allegations into the FBI.

The FBI never told the FISA court about Steele’s firing, his bias, the Clinton funding, or Ohr’s role.

As war in Venezuela looms and the President of the United States orders the sky shut, I ask: Remember the innocent people of Venezuela. Remember our Jewish brothers and sisters who live there.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump declared in capital letters: "THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY.” He posted it on Truth Social, his preferred platform for announcing peace, and now it appears, war.

It was the most surreal moment yet in a heated exchange that has been building for months as Venezuela and President Nicolás Maduro became front and center of the American political conversation.

We watched videos of President Maduro dancing to a remix of his own words: “No war, yes peace,” while President Trump posted a video from US strikes on vessels at sea. But none of it felt as dramatic as an American President declaring Venezuelan airspace sealed.

Seeing those headlines brought me back to March of last year, when my cousin Rabbi Moshe Klein and I embarked on a journey to visit Venezuela, and its large Jewish community, a daring trip few Americans and even fewer Jews would attempt.

Rabbi Klein, who is known for dedicating his life to preserving, documenting, and visiting Jewish communities around the world, invited me to join him. I was curious. I wanted to see this puzzling country with my own eyes and come to my own conclusions.

It was a Wednesday when we boarded Avior Flight 1203 to Caracas. As we made our way into Venezuelan airspace, the same airspace President Trump now deems closed, a Venezuelan national on the plane leaned over and whispered to us, “When you arrive, hide your money in your shoes so they don't take it from you.”

We landed. Greeted by airport walls plastered with posters offering bounties for tips on capturing Maduro's political opponent, Edmundo González. Yet for the most part, everything else felt strangely normal. The guards smiled, asked a few questions, and stamped my passport. "Bienvenido a Venezuela,” they said.

Driving into Caracas felt like driving down memory lane. Everything felt like the 90s. The city was distinct from many other South American countries I visited, including its neighboring Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It is a capital that was once clearly very wealthy, even sophisticated, but has long since entered deep decline. The nicest cars were from the early 2000s, barely any construction, building styles looked like those from the 1990s, and wherever we turned an eye, Maduro's face was staring back at us.

Our first stop was a local synagogue. We prayed with the community and were immediately invited to see Venezuelan Jewish life up close. What we found stunned us.

Schools, daycare centers, supermarkets, bakeries, businesses, including some of the largest in the country. An independent Hatzalah organization, youth programs, and numerous other synagogues catering to diverse Jewish communities. Venezuelan Jewish life was vibrant, organized, and alive. In many ways, it took me back to my Brooklyn childhood of the early 2000s, including the older-style ambulances. Very familiar.

We checked into a five-star hotel in the center of Caracas. It was beautiful, and empty. We saw maybe two other guests during our entire stay. Like the rest of the city, the hotel also felt stuck in the 90s. Bulky Italian furniture, a cassette tape recorder by the bed, a gold-plated shower head, the time has frozen.

The next day, we walked the streets of Caracas. We saw murals of Maduro's face everywhere. A law setting 50-50 shared custody as the state’s standard was hailed as a victory for fathers, but critics say it puts mothers and children at risk

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.—The dads were not all right.

It was 2017, and across Kentucky, divorced fathers were coming together against a common enemy: a custody system they felt favored their ex-wives.

Although custody laws in Kentucky and elsewhere granted judges discretion to decide what split was in a child’s best interest, aggrieved fathers claimed that this typically meant relegating them to the role of every-other-weekend “Disneyland dads,” forced to cram two days of fun into what mothers had two weeks to create.

“You become like ‘Uncle Dad’ instead of a parent,” said Rob Holdsworth, 53. In 2014, he reluctantly uprooted his life and civil-service career in Dayton, Ohio, to relocate to Bowling Green, where his ex-wife had moved with their two sons. He took the only job he could find—working nights in a soap factory—to see the boys just a few times a month.

“It was very depressing to be here, a couple of miles away from my kids, and be told I’m not going to get to see them more than that,” Holdsworth said.

Alone in the house near his sons’ elementary school—wandering in and out of their empty bedrooms, staring at the “Daddy you are our superhero” crayon poster they gave him for Father’s Day—Holdsworth had more time than he knew how to fill. He resolved to spend it lobbying for legislation granting dads like him more rights in a divorce or separation.

Around the country, the fathers’ rights movement was gaining momentum. Dividing time and decision-making equally between parents, advocates argued, reduced children’s feelings of abandonment, promoted gender equality and lowered tensions between feuding couples.

“There is no law that affects more people other than taxes or traffic,” said Matt Hale, vice chair of the National Parents Organization, an advocacy group formerly known as Fathers and Families. “Giving kids equal access to both their parents is just common sense.” Dads like Hale and Holdsworth found a sympathetic ear in lawmakers including Jason Nemes, a Kentucky state representative whose own father was his primary guardian after his parents divorced.

In 2018, Kentucky became the first state to pass a law making equally shared custody the default arrangement in divorces and separations. Four other states—Arkansas, West Virginia, Florida and Missouri—have since passed their own versions of Kentucky’s custody bill. Around 20 more are considering or close to passing similar laws, according to an analysis by the National Parents Organization.

The law has become a model for other states, not least because Kentucky’s divorce rate has plummeted. Between 2016 and 2023 it fell 25%, compared with a nationwide decline of 18%, according to an analysis by the National Center for Family & Marriage Research at Bowling Green State University.

Hale calls the drop in the divorce rate an unintended bonus of the custody law. He suggested that parents are increasingly likely to stay together because they realize they’ll be in regular touch regardless, so “they might as well work it out.” He added that he’s heard stories of couples who decided not to break up because of the presumption of shared custody, and years later are glad they stayed together.

Yet some argue that these impressive numbers hide a far more complicated story.

“People think divorce rates going down is a good thing and that it indicates stability in marriages, when that’s not always the case,” said Bowling Green family and marriage center assistant director Krista Westrick-Payne. She explained that the divorce rate typically goes down when couples believe the costs of leaving outweigh the benefits.

Some people are staying married to abusive partners, critics of the law say, because they are terrified of leaving their children alone with a parent with a history of violence. “They know their kids are safer if they stay,” said Elizabeth Martin, chief executive of the Louisville-based Center for Women and Family, which provides services to victims of domestic violence (most but not all of whom are women). “Even if it means taking some beatings.”

Four men have been charged over their alleged involvement in an international satanic child sex abuse ring, following an investigation into a Sydney-based paedophile network trading alarming abuse material through an internationally administered website.

Police arrested 26-year-old Landon Ashton Versace Germanotta-Mills, a self-styled independent investigative journalist alleged to have played a leading role in the child abuse ring, at a Waterloo apartment on Thursday.

He was charged with seven counts of using a carriage service to make child abuse available, use carriage service to access child abuse material, three counts of possessing child abuse data-use carriage service, two counts of disseminating bestiality material, and possessing bestiality material.

Germanotta-Mills was arrested in a matching zebra print outfit, and wore a blue beanie to cover his face.

He is the founder of the Underground Media Network, an “independent Australian investigative journalism platform committed to exposing institutional abuse, systemic failures, and the misuse of power”. Police corruption and child protection are among the issues the Underground Media Network investigates, according to its website.

Three other men allegedly involved in the paedophile network were arrested at a unit block in Malabar on Thursday, and charged with several child abuse offences.

Benjamin Raymond Drysdale, 46, was charged with using a carriage service to make child abuse available, two counts of contravening a prohibition order, two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations and possessing a prohibited drug.

Mark Andrew Sendecky, 42, was charged with possessing child abuse data-use carriage service, using a carriage to access child abuse material, and possessing child abuse material.

Sendecky was a swim coach in Victoria, where he served as coaching director and committee of management at Masters Swimming Victoria until resigning in 2018.

Stuart Woods Riches, 39, was charged with possessing child abuse material, possessing bestiality material, using a carriage to access child abuse material, five counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

Detectives uncovered the alleged paedophile network following investigations into the distribution of child sexual abuse involving ritualistic or satanic themes online.

Several electronic devices were seized during the search warrants, which allegedly uncovered thousands of videos depicting the abuse of children from infancy to 12 years of age, and sexual abuse of animals.

Sex Crimes Squad Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty said the international group used confronting symbols and rituals to “torture” children, describing the child abuse material exchanged within the network as “particularly devastating”.

“The sharing of child abuse material, unfortunately, is increasing,” Doherty said.

“We’ll work together to make sure a child is identified, and they can be rescued as soon as possible.”

Doherty said the four men arrested on Thursday had no access to children, but was concerned about a public safety risk if they remained out of custody.

Police are unsure where the abuse material originates from, and are yet to identify any children in the videos.

The men appeared in court on Friday. Germanotta-Mills was refused bail, and will next appear in the Downing Centre on January 29.

Drysdale, Sendecky, and Riches made no application for bail, and are also listed to appear in January.

Billboards are popping up outside Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune urging soldiers to disobey orders. “Marines: Not what you signed up for?” asks one. “Did You Go Airborne Just To Pull Security for ICE?” asks another one. The website urges soldiers to use encryption and offers ‘counselling’ on ‘disobeying immoral orders’. The organizations offering ‘counselling’ to soldiers include the National Lawyers Guild: a Communist organization which also defends Antifa.

The billboards are promoting a system that, in its own words, is “built to connect active duty, national guard, and reserve members of the military with key resources on responding to unlawful orders”. What that means is members of the military will be potentially discussing their orders with members of radical leftist groups sympathetic to America’s enemies.

This is not only sedition; it’s a national security threat.

‘Win Without War’, the group behind the ads, had been created as a front group full of young photogenic diverse figures by the Center for International Policy (itself created by the Institute for Policy Studies, to oppose the Vietnam War and any resistance to Communism) which has sponsored trips by members of Congress to Cuba, and is funded by Soros and the Rockefellers.

The radical leftist group also announced that it’s standing with the ‘Sedition Six’ in urging troops to disobey orders and circulating a letter stating that “we the people have their backs.”

Who is “we the people”? An Iranian immigrant who defends Iran and hates America.

The ads were tweeted by Sara Haghdoosti: an Iranian immigrant who heads up Win Without War. Haghdoosti, the author of a teen novel about ‘Islamophobia’, told MoveOn.org that “I moved to the U.S. to help start Berim, a new organization to amplify Iranian voices, get people outside of Iran engaged, and change foreign policy.”

Berim, meaning “Let’s Go” in Farsi, was billed as helping Iranian ‘social entrepreneurs’, in practice the organization served as a pro-Iran pressure group, urging Obama to meet with Iran’s leader (as part of a petition started by Haghdoosti), lobbying Congress to oppose sanctions and any action against Iran’s nuclear program. Berim cosigned letters alongside NIAC, known to many as a key part of the ‘Iran Lobby’, defending Iran’s nuclear program against America.

While Berim pretended to be a ‘grassroots’ group, it was closely intertwined with a network of leftist organizations opposed to America which became obvious when Win Without War ‘acquired’ Berim and Haghdoosti eventually became the executive director of Win Without War.

Then he tagged retired Navy Commander Kirk Lippold (the hero skipper of USS Cole) and wrote in all caps:

Anyone inside the chain of command, admiral, general, civilian appointee, whoever, who is deliberately tanking morale, pushing political agendas, or sabotaging readiness is now on notice.

The law has been on the books forever, but no administration has ever threatened to actually use it against senior officers or DoD civilians.

3I ATLAS: Tails of an Interstellar Comet

How typical is our Solar System? Studying 3I/ATLAS, a comet just passing through, is providing clues. Confirmed previous interstellar visitors include an asteroid, a comet, a meteor, and a gas wind dominated by hydrogen and helium. Comet 3I/ATLAS appears relatively normal when compared to Solar System comets, therefore providing more evidence that our Solar System is a somewhat typical star system. For example, Comet 3I/ATLAS has a broadly similar chemical composition and ejected dust. The featured image was captured last week from Texas and shows a green coma, a wandering blue-tinted ion tail likely deflected by our Sun's wind, and a slight anti-tail, all typical cometary attributes. The comet, visible with a telescope, passed its closest to the Sun in late October and will pass its closest to the Earth in mid-December, after which it will return to interstellar space and never return.

3I/ATLAS makes for a ‘captivating story’ for everyone

In another post, Grimes, who shares son X Æ A-xii and a daughter with Musk, stated that aliens or not, the mysterious visitor makes for a “captivating story for little humans”.

"I love when there are scientific discoveries or debates that are as legible and interesting for little humans as they are to adults," she wrote.

Grimes added, "I'm not overly wishful but even if it's just a mysterious, strange interstellar object, that is still incredibly captivating and rare."

3I/ATLAS has captured the attention of scientists across the world as it is only the third interstellar object ever seen in the solar system, after Oumuamua and 2I/Borisov, both discovered in the last decade.

Now with the Vera Rubin Observatory, scientists expect to uncover more such alien visitors.

People are only just learning of a strange US plot to bomb the moon, and the reason is even more bizarre than the plan.

For a company that has famously frequented the giant space rock, NASA was allegedly in on a ploy to send nuclear bomb to the celestial body in the 1950s.

At a time when the space race was at full steam and the USSR was inching closer to its goal of being the first to land astronauts on the moon, the US was feeling the pressure.

Of course, Neil Armstrong ended up being the first person to step foot on the moon's surface in 1969, but history could have changed in a scary way had the US gone through with its original plan.

While some social media users have said it 'sounds like something from a Looney Tunes cartoon', the terrifying plan was actually very real.

The US' top secret Project A119 had the totally normal goal of dropping a hydrogen bomb on the moon.

Now, a hydrogen bomb is far more destructive than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, and it would need to be, considering the aim was to create a giant crater on the surface of the moon to mark the US’s territory if the Russian astronauts got too close to their goal.

The plan was in retaliation to the USSR sending the first satellite to space, known as Sputnik 1.

In collaboration with the Air Force, respected scientist Leonard Reiffel created reports from May 1958 and January 1959 which documented whether the plan would work. Reiffel insisted in 2000 it was 'technically feasible'.

What they wanted was to happen was for the bomb to detonate on the Moon’s Terminator Line – the border between the light and dark side of the Moon – which would create a flash of light visible to everyone, particularly the Kremlin.

This would show the nation that the US had the technology to win wars, and that it wasn’t a country to mess with.

You also need to remember that in the 50s, America was stuck in the Cold War and arms race, and the only edge it had on Russia was its ability to advance its missiles faster.

But Russia was close behind.

"Project A119 was one of several ideas that were floated for an exciting response to Sputnik," said Alex Wellerstein, a historian of science and nuclear technology, told the BBC.

He said the plan also included shooting down Sputnik, which, he said, ‘feels very spiteful.’

However, instead of doing so, they chose to put up their own satellite in the late 50s.

As for why the moon remains un-nuked, the Air Force were worried the missile launch could go wrong and impact the Earth. Nice of them to think of that, I guess.

The top-secret plan was fortunately put to bed, and amazingly only surfaced in the 1990s after one of the scientists involved namedropped it on a job application.

‘Dead in the water’ is the only accurate description of Congressman Eric Swalwell’s campaign for California governor.

Two weeks ago in my article in the Gateway Pundit, “DISQUALIFIED! – Congressman Eric Swalwell Names Washington, DC Home as ‘Principal Residence,’ I documented that Swalwell is ineligible for the California governorship because he is in violation of the California Constitution and Election Law 349, which requires candidates to make California their “domicile” for 5 years prior to an election. Days later, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte referred Swalwell to the Department of Justice for potential mortgage fraud violations.

Late last week in response, Swalwell posted a video on Twitter/X attempting to regain control of the narrative, announcing his filing of a civil lawsuit against Pulte and the FHFA.

“I’ve decided to go on offense. Donald Trump is weaponizing the Department of Justice against his political opponents… So I have brought a privacy suit and a First Amendment retaliation suit against the administration. I hope you take a look at it.”

The lawsuit reads like a campaign speech, with Swalwell arguing, “I was an impeachment manager.”

The lawsuit consists of only two legal allegations:

That Director Pulte, by referencing his public mortgage paperwork in the DOJ referral, violated the Privacy Act and the First Amendment, claiming the publicly available document was “private”; and

That Swalwell had included a sworn affidavit with his mortgage stating his D.C. residence was “his wife’s” primary residence rather than his own.

Both claims are baseless and completely without merit.

Every mortgage executed in Washington, D.C., including Swalwell’s, appears on the public database mytax.dc.gov.

I accessed and downloaded Swalwell’s Deed of Trust for his 209 S Street NE home and published it multiple times in The Gateway Pundit. This document is public by law and has been available online for years.

Director Bill Pulte merely referenced the same public file in his DOJ referral. Under the law, there is no “privacy” to violate.

Swalwell’s claim that his privacy was violated is not only meritless, but it’s also embarrassingly unserious, and exposes his lawsuit as a political smokescreen to feed the left-leaning media with a narrative to distract the public from the real issue: Swalwell’s violation of California residency requirements.

As for his second claim, Swalwell did not include his alleged affidavit as an exhibit in his lawsuit, almost certainly because it does not exist.

In fact, Swalwell’s online Deed of Trust contains no language whatsoever in which Eric Swalwell disclaims that the property will be his principal residence, nor does it include any affidavit, rider, or statement indicating that the home will be used exclusively by his wife or that he will not live there.

Both Eric Michael Swalwell and Brittany Watts Swalwell are listed jointly as “Borrower,” they jointly sign the Deed of Trust, and the only affidavit they sign pertains solely to D.C. tax classification for a residential property.

In short, the mortgage contains no disclaimer from Swalwell and includes no language assigning the home to his wife alone.

The public Deed of Trust for Swalwell’s DC home, dated April 18, 2022, confirms the property is designated as his “principal residence” as a condition of the loan.

Clause 8 of the document includes the line “Material representations include, but are not limited to, representations concerning Borrower’s occupancy of the Property as Borrower’s principal residence.”

Good afternoon, everyone, and thanks for having me. I’m Elissa Slotkin, Michigan’s

newest Senator.

By way of introduction, before I got into politics, I was in the national security world. I’m

what’s called a 9/11 baby. I happened to be in New York City on my second day of grad

school when 9/11 happened. And by the time the smoke cleared, I knew I wanted to go

into national security. I went on to serve as a CIA officer, to do three tours in Iraq, to

work at the Pentagon, and the White House under two presidents. But before all that,

the day after 9/11, I was busy switching all my classes to focus on national security. And

one of my professors was Michael O’Hanlon, who now holds about five titles here at

Brookings. I was lucky enough to get into his class, and we’re all lucky to have him
