Tens of thousands of pages of the "Epstein files" have been released by the US House Oversight Committee.

In a more than 33,000-page-strong data dump, documents from the US Department of Justice (DoJ) have finally been made public after months of mounting pressure.

A statement on the Committee's website released shortly after 11pm in the UK reads: "On August 5, Chairman [Congressman James] Comer issued a subpoena for records related to Mr Jeffrey Epstein, and the Department of Justice has indicated it will continue producing those records while ensuring the redaction of victim identities and any child sexual abuse material."

In total, 33,295 pages have been shared to a public Google Drive folder.

The Trump administration collected over $30 billion in tariff revenue in August alone, marking the highest monthly total of 2025 so far, even with data from the last three days of the month not yet factored in. According to Treasury Department figures released last week, total tariff revenue for the year has already surged past $183 billion, more than double what had been collected by this point last year.

Revenue has climbed fast in recent months, from $17.4 billion in April, to $23.9 billion in May, $28 billion in June, and $29 billion in July. At this pace, the government could match last year’s full-year tariff take in just a few months.

The surge comes as President Donald J. Trump’s trade agenda gains traction again, both economically and legally. Despite a federal appeals court ruling that said Trump overstepped by using emergency powers to impose global tariffs, the court has allowed the tariffs to stay in place through October 14. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is appealing the anti-tariff decision to the Supreme Court.

Trump’s tariffs, aimed at levelling the playing field for American workers against sweatshop economies and countries that price out American expoirts through tariff and non-tariff trade barriers, are already “reshoring” jobs to the United States. For instance, GE Appliances recently announced a $3 billion investment to move manufacturing from China and Mexico back to the U.S. Products like refrigerators and water heaters will now be built in states like Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee, bringing over 1,000 new jobs. CEO Kevin Nolan said the goal is “manufacturing close to our customers.”

The U.S. goods trade deficit has seen major improvement, narrowing from $96.4 billion in May to $86.0 billion in June, thanks to falling imports, a sign that the tariffs are working as intended.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now projects Trump’s tariff policy could slash the federal deficit by $4 trillion over the next decade, including $3.3 trillion in primary deficit reduction and $700 billion in interest savings. Customs duties alone could reach $200 billion by year’s end.

I am so f**kng sick of watching politicians on both sides of the aisle get rich while they’re in office. But when politicians rail against millionaires and billionaires while quietly joining their ranks, it’s even worse, because it’s hypocrisy dressed up as virtue.

Few examples are as glaring as Rep. Ilhan Omar’s latest financial disclosure.

Just months ago, Omar dismissed rumors about her personal wealth as “ridiculous” and “categorically false,” insisting she was just a working mom with student loan debt.

Now, according to filings reported by the New York Post and Washington Free Beacon, Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, are sitting on a net worth of up to $30 million. That’s a 3,500% jump in a single year.

Ty Clevenger fired off a blistering letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel back in April, accusing the FBI of flagrantly concealing critical records about the late DNC staffer Seth Rich and the now-discredited Russia collusion narrative.

In February 2024, Clevenger demanded that the FBI hand over the Seth Rich documents that they continue to conceal from the public.

The FBI’s refusal follows a pattern of obfuscation. For years, the agency denied even possessing Seth Rich’s laptop—until Clevenger’s legal efforts forced the FBI to admit they had it all along. Yet, the agency still refuses to disclose any metadata from Seth Rich’s electronic devices.

Even more damning, Clevenger has already uncovered proof that the FBI improperly withheld pages from the CrowdStrike report related to the alleged 2016 DNC hack—an event that conveniently became a political weapon against President Donald Trump.

Six members of Germany’s right-wing AfD party have died within weeks of each other, sparking conspiracy theories despite assurances from authorities that no foul play was involved.

The remarkable series of deaths in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, weeks before local council elections in Germany’s most populous state, has sparked chaos and widespread speculation online.

Four AfD candidates died — Ralph Lange, Wolfgang Klinger, Wolfgang Seitz and Stefan Berendes — requiring ballots to be reprinted ahead of the September 14 vote.

It later emerged that two AfD reserve list candidates, René Herford and Patrick Tietze, had also died.

German police and the North Rhine-Westphalia Interior Ministry say there is no evidence of foul play in any case, with the cause of most of the deaths already determined.

But the deaths have nevertheless raised eyebrows.

On Sunday, AfD leader Alice Weidel shared a post on X from economist Stefan Homburg, a supporter of the party, describing the cluster as “statistically almost impossible”.

“Four AfD candidates have died,” Ms Weidel wrote.

US tech billionaire Elon Musk, who has endorsed the AfD’s anti-immigration policies, amplified Professor Homburg’s post, replying simply, “!!”

“Either Germany votes AfD, or it is the end of Germany,” he also said.

AfD deputy leader Stephan Brandner, a member of parliament from the state of Thuringia, told Politico’s Berlin Playbook podcast on Tuesday it was “statistically striking and difficult to explain at the moment”.

“I’ve never heard of politicians from a party dying in such a short period of time before an election,” Mr Brander said.

However Kay Gottschalk, AfD’s deputy state leader in North Rhine-Westphalia, was more circumspect. “What I have at the moment … at least does not confirm these suspicions,” he told Politico.

Mr Gottschalk added that he wanted the deaths to be examined “without immediately getting into conspiracy theory territory”.

The deaths were put on the agenda at Monday’s federal executive board meeting by Ms Weidel, but there was no speculation about possible causes, a board member told the publication.

Mr Lange, 66, an AfD candidate in Blomberg who died on August 28, and Mr Klinger, 71, an AfD candidate in Schwerte, both had pre-existing health conditions, an AfD spokesperson told Politico.

Police said both men died of natural causes and no investigation had been initiated, the Die Welt newspaper reported.

Mr Seitz, 59, an AfD candidate in Rheinberg, also had pre-existing health conditions and suffered a heart attack, according to Politico.

Police said they had opened an investigation in Mr Seitz’s death. “This is nothing unusual, however, it’s standard practice when the cause of death is initially unclear,” a spokesperson told Die Welt.

Mr Berendes, 59, an AfD candidate in Bad Lippspringe, reportedly died of natural causes. Police told Die Welt there was no indication of outside involvement and so no further investigation would be conducted.

His cause of death is being kept secret for privacy reasons. The city council announced that his death had invalidated 133 absentee ballots.

Foul play was also ruled out in the deaths of the two reserve list candidates, both from the Oberberg district. Mr Herford had a pre-existing liver condition and died of kidney failure, while Mr Tietze took his own life, according to Politico.

Replacement candidates have already been announced in most cases.

The Interior Ministry has pointed out that AfD is not the only party to be affected by deaths before the elections.

Eleonore Jüssen, 71, a Social Democratic Party (SPD) candidate in Bad Münstereifel, and Karl Reger, a Green Party candidate in Hellenthal, also died last month.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s personal fortune exploded to upwards of $30 million in 2024, the Minnesota Democrat disclosed just months after telling the press it is "ridiculous" and "categorically false" to say she is worth millions of dollars.

Omar reported in her latest financial disclosure that she and her husband, former political consultant Tim Mynett, accumulated a net worth at the end of 2024 ranging from at least $6 million to $30 million.Their wealth is derived almost entirely from the value of Mynett’s ownership stake in his two companies that, together, were worth no more than $51,000 at the end of 2023.The exact value of Omar’s personal fortune at the end of 2024 is unclear—lawmakers disclose the value of their holdings and debts in ranges. Still, the figures in Omar’s latest disclosures show that her and her husband’s net worth skyrocketed by at least 3,500 percent in just one year.

Omar’s extraordinary accumulation of wealth in 2024 could raise uncomfortable questions for the Minnesota Democrat, who in February told Business Insider that she has been the subject of a "coordinated right-wing disinformation campaign" that falsely claims she’s worth millions of dollars. Omar said any insinuation that she’s worth more than a few thousand dollars was "ridiculous" and "categorically false." She also took to X in February, challenging her followers to "maybe try checking my public financial statements and you will see I barely have thousands let alone millions."

Omar has her husband to thank for catapulting her to multimillionaire status in 2024.Mynett’s California-based winery eStCru LLC and venture capital firm Rose Lake Capital both achieved remarkable financial turnarounds in 2024. At the end of 2023, Mynett’s combined stake in both companies was worth no more than $51,000, the firms had less than $700across all their bank accounts, and Mynett and his business partner, former DNC adviser Will Hailer, were saddled with lawsuits from investors claiming they defrauded them out of millions of dollars.

But by the end of 2024, Mynett’s combined stake in the two firms ballooned to anywhere between $6 and $30 million, and he and Hailer settled the lawsuits with cash settlements, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Mynett’s business activities have long been a thorn in Omar’s side ever since they married in March 2020. They were both married to other people when they met,but the pair began an affair while Mynett served as a political consultant for Omar’s campaign, which paid his firm a whopping $2.9 million during the 2020 election cycle. But that was a fleeting arrangement. The financial ties between Omar's campaign and her new husband’s firm drew intense public scrutiny, and by the end of 2020, Mynett had exited the political consulting business and teamed up with Hailer to branch out into the winery and venture capital industries.

Mynett’s stake in his California winery, eStCru LLC, was worth no more than $50,000 at the end of 2023, Omar disclosed. The winery had just $650 in its bank account in February 2024, according to court documents obtained by the Minnesota Reformer, and was facing a lawsuit from Washington, D.C., businessman Naeem Mohd alleging Mynett and Hailer failed to pay up after promising to triple his $300,000 investment in the winery in just 18 months.

Mohd filed suit in California against Mynett, Hailer, and eStCru LLC in 2023 seeking $780,000 in damages. Mohd filed a motion to drop the suit in November 2024 after reaching a settlement with the winery, the Free Beacon has learned.

"We did settle and the amount was paid," Modh’s attorney, Faisal Gill, told the Free Beacon. Gill declined to share the exact amount of the settlement.

Mynett’s other company, Rose Lake Capital, was in no better shape at the beginning of 2024. The venture capital firm wasworth no more than $1,000 to Mynett at the end of 2023, Omar disclosed, and had just $42.44 in its bankaccounts in February 2024, according to court documents obtained by the Minnesota Reformer.

By the end of 2024, Mynett’s stake in Rose Lake Capital ballooned to up to $25 million, Omar reported in her latest financial disclosure.

Mynett and Hailer formed Rose Lake Capital in 2022.It claims on its website to have $60 billion in assets under management and boasts an "extensive global network" and expertise at structuring "legislation." The firm’s advisory board includestwo former Barack Obama ambassadors, Max Baucus and J. Adam Ereli, as well as former Amalgamated Bank CEO Keith Mestrich.

Shortly after Mynett launched Rose Lake Capital, Omar formed the U.S.-Africa Policy Working Group, where she leads a group of 20 members of Congress"committed to building partnership with the continent of Africa."

Since then, both Omar and Mynett have been pictured at events hosted by the EBII Group, a company that helps facilitate international investments in Africa. Omar was the keynote speaker at EBII’s African Leaders and Partners forum in 2023,where she advocated for U.S. investment in Africa and called on Congress to institute policies including a "$44 billion lifeline for African communities." During that same forum, Hailer, in his capacity as Rose Lake’s CEO, facilitated a panel discussion on the challenges faced by investors seeking to get their funds out of African countries.

Rose Lake Capital is Mynett and Hailer’s second venture capital firm.Their first, eSt Ventures, used to state on its website that it managed investment funds dedicated to Africa and cannabis.

Before Mynett left eSt Ventures in 2022, he and Hailer formed a subsidiary called Badlands Ventures to facilitate the firm’s marijuana investments.Badlands, in turn, received $3.5 million from a pair of South Dakota cannabis companies in early 2022 who later filed suitallegingthe firm diverted $1.7 million of their investment "for purposes other than Badlands Ventures’ business."

When the cannabis investors demanded that money back, Hailer claimed the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had placed a hold on the funds, the lawsuit stated.OFAC administers trade sanctions on foreign countries and terrorist regimes engaged in "the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States."

In August, for example,OFAC sanctioned 18 entities and individuals connected to the Iranian regime, including a software holding company with ties to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security, which has committed "serious human rights abuses against the Iranian people and supporting terrorist groups," the Treasury Department said in a press release.

The cannabis investors did not sue Rose Lake Capital directly, but they named the firm in their lawsuit and it was subjected to discovery as the case proceeded.

Hailer settled that lawsuit for $1.2 million in August 2024, according to the Minnesota Reformer. The outlet reportedthat it’s unclear how Hailer was able to pay the settlement, noting court documents that showedhe had less than $750 in his bank accountsat the beginning of 2024.
