President Trump responded to a brutal attack on Edward Coristine, the DOGE employee known as “Big Balls.”
“Crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control. Local “youths” and gang members, some only 14, 15, and 16-years-old, are randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent Citizens,at the same time knowing that they will be almost immediately released. They are not afraid of Law Enforcement because they know nothing ever happens to them, but it’s going to happen now!
The Law in D.C. must be changed to prosecute these “minors” as adults, and lock them up for a long time, starting at age 14. The most recent victim was beaten mercilessly by local thugs.
Washington, D.C., must be safe, clean, and beautiful for all Americans and, importantly, for the World to see. If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.
Perhaps it should have been done a long time ago, then this incredible young man, and so many others, would not have had to go through the horrors of Violent Crime.

Ebt
Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is the electronic system used to deliver federal and state public assistance benefits, including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for food purchases and cash assistance, to recipients across the United States.
EBT is used in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.
The system has been the sole method for SNAP issuance since June 2004.
Each state manages its own EBT program, often using a state-specific card name. For example, California uses the EBT card for CalFresh and other benefits
, Colorado uses the Colorado Quest card for SNAP and Cash Assistance
, New Mexico uses an EBT card issued by the New Mexico Human Services Department
, Montana uses the Montana EBT Card for SNAP and TANF benefits
, Texas uses the Lone Star Card for SNAP and TANF benefits
, and Washington uses the Washington Quest EBT card for Basic Food benefits.
In New York, approved applicants receive an EBT card in the mail, with temporary cards available at designated locations if needed.
EBT cards function like debit cards and are used by swiping the card and entering a personal identification number (PIN) at authorized retailers.
Benefits are deposited monthly onto the card, and any unused balance carries over to the next month.
Cardholders can check their account balance and manage their account through state-specific portals, mobile apps like ebtEDGE
, or by calling customer service.
The system also includes provisions for fraud prevention and benefit recovery. For instance, Missouri has a program to replace SNAP benefits lost due to events like power outages, but funding for replacing electronically stolen benefits ended on December 20, 2024.
States provide resources to help protect benefits, such as guidance on securing the PIN and avoiding scams.
Retailers interested in participating in the SNAP program can apply through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service.
