Journalist publicly quits Reuters over Gaza ‘culpability’
Valerie Zink has accused Western outlets of perpetuating Israeli propaganda and contributing to the deaths of dozens of reporters
Canadian photojournalist Valerie Zink has resigned as a Reuters stringer after eight years, alleging the agency has been “justifying and enabling” Israel’s killing of journalists in Gaza, including members of its own staff.
Her announcement came hours after an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis on Monday, the largest medical facility in southern Gaza, that killed at least 20 people, including five journalists, according to local health officials.
In a Facebook post, Zink accused Reuters and other Western media of amplifying unverified Israeli claims linking reporters to Hamas militants, arguing that this has contributed to conditions in which dozens of journalists have been killed since October 2023.
She cited the case of Anas al-Sharif, a prominent Al Jazeera reporter, who was killed with his crew in Gaza City earlier this month.
”Reuters chose to publish Israel’s entirely baseless claim that al-Sharif was a Hamas operative,” she wrote. Prior to the attack, the Israeli military alleged al-Sharif was a Hamas commander but provided no evidence.
”The fact that Anas Al-Sharif’s work won a Pulitzer Prize for Reuters did not compel them to come to his defence when Israeli occupation forces placed him on a hit list,” she added.
Zink also criticized Reuters’ response to the killing of its own staff, noting that cameraman Hossam al-Masri was among those killed at Nasser Hospital.
Western media, she said, were “culpable” by repeating Israeli claims without verification, acting as “a conveyor belt for Israeli propaganda.”
The number of journalists killed in Gaza since 2023 has now reached 245, according to press freedom groups.

Bolton Attacks Trump For 'Utterly Incoherent' Ukraine Policy Days After FBI Raid
"President Donald Trump’s Ukraine policy is no more coherent today than it was last Friday when his administration executed search warrants against my home and office," Bolton said in Washington Examiner.
Bolton's op-ed title went all-in: "Trump’s utterly incoherent Ukraine strategy." He wrote that "Collapsing in confusion, haste, and the absence of any discernible meeting of the minds among Ukraine, Russia, several European countries, and America, Trump’s negotiations may be in their last throes, along with his Nobel Peace Prize campaign."
"The administration has tried to camouflage its disarray behind social media posts, such as Trump comparing his finger-pointing at Russian President Vladimir Putin to then-Vice President Richard Nixon during the famous kitchen debate with Nikita Khrushchev," Bolton said further in his piece. "Why Trump wants to be compared to the only president who resigned in disgrace is unclear."
So clearly, Bolton is not backing down or being quiet despite the FBI raid on his home last Friday, which was described as a "court-authorized law enforcement activity."
The 'war' in the op-ed pages has been unleashed, as on Tuesday White House trade adviser Peter Navarro took to The Hill and charged Bolton with "profiteering off of America’s secrets" in relation to his 2020 book, "The Room Where It Happened."
Navarro's op-ed said "He was trafficking in Oval Office conversations and national security intelligence that should have stayed secret - either by law or under executive privilege."
"That isn’t service. That isn’t patriotism. That’s profiteering off of America’s secrets," Navarro wrote, citing a federal judge who at the time said "seems to be out of the barn" - when Trump officials had tried to stop its publication. Back in 2020, Navarro had slammed the memoir as like "revenge porn".
Bolton has only issued rare praise of Trump when he bombs another country (as he did Iran this summer)…

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.
Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?
Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be?
I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I useThe Federalist Societyas a recommending source on Judges.
I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb ofa real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions.
He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is!
In any event, Leo left The Federalist Society to do his own “thing.” I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations.
This is something that cannot be forgotten!With all of that being said, I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others.
They always must do what’s right for the Country!
In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get.
It is the difference between having a rich, prosperous, and successful United States of America, and quite the opposite. The ruling by the U.S. Court of International Trade is so wrong, and so political!
Hopefully, the Supreme Court will reverse thishorrible, Country threateningdecision, QUICKLY and DECISIVELY.
Backroom “hustlers” must not be allowed to destroy our Nation!
The horrific decision stated that I would have to get the approval of Congress for these Tariffs.
In other words, hundreds of politicians would sit around D.C. for weeks, and even months, trying to come to a conclusion as to what to charge other Countries that are treating us unfairly.
If allowed to stand, this would completely destroy Presidential Power — The Presidency would never be the same! This decision is being hailed all over the World by every Country, other than the United States of America.
Radical Left Judges, together with some very bad people, are destroying America. Under this decision, Trillions of Dollars would be lost by our Country, money that will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
It would be the harshest financial ruling ever leveled on us as a Sovereign Nation. The President of the United States must be allowed to protect America against those that are doing it Economic and Financial harm.
