Chikli invites Tommy Robinson to Israel, sparking UK Jewish outrage

UK Jewish leaders slammed Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli for inviting far-right activist Tommy Robinson to Israel following an antisemitic attack in Manchester.

Heated debate has erupted within Jewish and Israeli circles after Tommy Robinson – the controversial British patriot and activist – revealed that he is set to visit Israel on the invitation of Israel’s Diaspora and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli.

Chikli announced that he had invited Robinson on October 3, in the wake of the antisemitic terrorist attack outside a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur. He referred to Robinson as “a courageous leader on the front line against radical Islam” and stressed the importance of strengthening bonds with Israel’s allies.

Later in the day, Robinson confirmed that he will travel to Israel after his harassment trial on October 13 and plans on visiting Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem, the Supernova music festival site, and the South, as well as the Jabotinsky Institute and Yad Vashem. Robinson is pleading not guilty to two counts of harassment causing fear of violence against two journalists in August 2024.

'Their fight is our fight'

“The horrific Manchester attack has strengthened my conviction that the United Kingdom and Israel are fighting the same battle – against the scourge of Islamic jihad. Their fight is our fight,” he wrote on X/Twitter. “I come as a friend, as an ally, and as someone who believes that the strength of Israel is the strength of the West.”

However, not everyone was so thrilled. In a joint statement on Saturday, the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council jointly stated that Robinson is a “thug” who “represents the very worst of Britain.”

The statement also criticized Chikli, whom it called “diaspora minister in name only” and who has “ignored the views of the vast majority of British Jews.” In response, Chikli accused the Board of Deputies of being “openly aligned with left-wing, woke, pro-Palestinian parties.”

“Just hours after Jews were murdered in Manchester, instead of demanding protection or holding the government accountable, the Board rushed for a photo-op with the prime minister,” he said, adding, “If only they showed the same energy attacking Britain’s recognition of a Palestinian terror state as they do attacking me and Tommy Robinson.”

Reform rabbi and democrat MK Gilad Kariv accused Chikli of acting in “complete contradiction to the positions of Jewish communities around the world” and of exploiting his role as diaspora minister.

“Tommy Robinson is a racist and violent criminal,” Kariv added. “His support for Israel does not erase his antisemitic past or his extreme-nationalist positions. Cooperating with him is a slap in the face of British Jewry and a direct blow to Israel’s standing in this important European country.

Niva Von Weisel, the director of the Jabotinsky Institute, however, said, “We welcome Tommy Robinson to the JI, a place that preserves the legacy of a man who understood that freedom must be defended.”

“We are pleased that international figures like Mr. Robinson wish to learn from Jabotinsky’s ideas and draw inspiration from the Zionist story.”

Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana said on X that he is looking forward to hosting Robinson at the Knesset, adding, “You’re doing a great service to your country. See you in Jerusalem!”

Israel Says No Gaza Ceasefire in Place Despite Trump’s Call for a Stop to the Bombing

Israeli forces have killed more than 100 Palestinians in Gaza over the past two days

The Israeli government said on Sunday that there is no ceasefire in place in Gaza despite President Trump’s calls for Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza” as the IDF continues to slaughter Palestinians across the Strip.

“While certain bombings have actually stopped inside of the Gaza Strip, there’s no ceasefire in place at this point in time,” said Israeli government spokeswoman Shosh Badrosian, according to The Associated Press.

Badrosian added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in “regular contact” with Trump and that the upcoming negotiations in Egypt aimed at securing the release of Israelis held by Hamas and implementing a ceasefire will “be confined to a few days maximum, with no tolerance for maneuvers that will delay talks by Hamas.”

Trump first made the call for Israel to stop bombing Gaza on Friday after Hamas issued its response to the US-Israeli ceasefire proposal. On Saturday, Trump said that he appreciated that “Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing,’ but on the same day, the IDF killed at least 70 Palestinians in Gaza, according to medical sources speaking to Al Jazeera.

The IDF killed at least 129 Palestinians in Gaza over the past few days, according to daily updates released by Gaza’s Health Ministry. The Health Ministry said in its latest release on Sunday that it recorded the deaths of 63 Palestinians and the injury of 153 over the previous 24-hour period.

Medical sources have told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli attacks so far on Sunday killed at least 19 Palestinians, including 11 who were killed in Gaza City. According to Israeli media, the IDF was ordered to halt its operation to conquer Gaza City, but it has continued to bomb the area.

One Israeli strike in Gaza City on Saturday killed 18 people, including seven children between the ages of two months and eight years, according to a statement from Gaza’s Civil Defense.

The IDF also continues to kill desperate Palestinians attempting to get food. According to the AP, at least four Palestinians were killed near an aid site in southern Gaza on Sunday.

On top of the violent deaths, Palestinians continue to starve to death amid the famine caused by the Israeli siege. According to releases from the Health Ministry, at least three Palestinians, including two children, died of starvation over the past two days.

The ministry said on Sunday that its violent death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 67,139, and the number of wounded has climbed to 169,583. Studies have found that the ministry’s numbers are likely a significant undercount.

Australia dis arming the resistance

WA police seize 135 guns in raids targeting 'sovereign citizens'

WA Police have confirmed an operation to seize hundreds of guns from so-called sovereign citizens was conducted because of a fatal police shooting in Victoria in late August.

Authorities confirmed a state-wide operation concluded on Friday that saw search warrants conducted at 70 addresses of people aligned with the sovereign citizen movement.

It comes after two police officers in Victoria were shot and killed, allegedly by Dezi Freeman, a self-confessed sovereign citizen. He is still on the run in country Victoria.

Sovereign citizen is a term for people who hold extreme anti-government views, who believe laws and regulations don't apply to them.

WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch said despite their beliefs, sovereign citizens were not above the law.

"The recent murder of two serving police officers in country Victoria was allegedly committed by a sovereign citizen," he said.

"Following this tragedy, I instructed my officers to conduct a review and risk assessment of those individuals in Western Australia who are licensed firearm holders and whose beliefs align with sovereign citizen ideology.

"Individuals whose beliefs align with so-called sovereign citizen ideologies do not believe the laws passed by elected members of parliament should apply to them."

Police say they found 135 firearms, and cancelled or suspended 44 firearms licences in the operation.

Police Minister Reece Whitby was fully supportive of the measures and the operation.

"No one is above the law, and that includes anyone who declares they are a sovereign citizen," he said.

"[They] oppose the laws that are the cornerstone of a free and democratic community, which has the potential to threaten public safety."

They healed their children in three phases:
