Zelensky confirms plans to meet Trump in Washington this week

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Oct. 13 that he plans to meet his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, in Washington later this week.

The meeting, scheduled for Oct. 17, will follow two phone calls between the leaders regarding Ukraine's air defenses and long-range capabilities in the wake of escalating Russian attacks.

Talking at a press conference alongside EU diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas, Zelensky said the phone calls "were not enough" to discuss all key topics.

The planned summit, which is said to take place at the invitation of Washington, will be the fifth meeting between Trump and Zelensky since the U.S. president returned to office in January. The leaders previously met in New York during the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 23.

Zelensky also reminded that a Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko is already en route to the U.S."I think we need to discuss the sequence of steps that I want to propose to President (Trump)," Zelensky told journalists.

The president previously said that the delegation aims to negotiate the purchase of additional air defense systems, as well as HIMARS rocket systems, as part of a "Mega Deal" with Washington.

Kyiv has been calling upon foreign partners to help strengthen Ukrainian air defenses as Moscow escalates aerial attacks against Ukraine's energy grid. A mass strike on Oct. 10 temporarily knocked out the power supply in Kyiv and across Ukrainian regions.

Trump has also publicly floated the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawks, long-range cruise missiles capable of striking targets at a range of 1,600 to 2,500 kilometers (1,000 to 1,600 miles).

The Kremlin has expressed "extreme concern" regarding possible Tomahawk deliveries, saying such a move would constitute a "qualitatively new stage of escalation."

According to Zelensky, the Tomahawks could be financed through the upcoming "Mega Deal" with the U.S., by frozen Russian assets, or via the NATO-led Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) scheme. (this is never going to happen, what a troll, and criminal)

Social Media Spies Exposed: Profiles Vanish After MintPress Report

After being exposed as former national security state agents by MintPress, large numbers of officials working in the highest levels of top social media platforms have deleted their profiles or wiped the incriminating evidence from the internet.

A series of MintPress News investigations uncovered a network of hundreds of former agents of the CIA, FBI, and other three-letter agencies, as well as high State Department and NATO officials working at social media giants, such as Facebook, Google, TikTok, and Twitter. These individuals are overwhelmingly concentrated in politically sensitive departments, such as trust and safety, security, and content moderation, meaning that these ex-spies and intelligence officials are helping to influence what billions of people around the world see, read and hear (and deciding who is promoted and who is suppressed).

Once this information was made public by MintPress, it caused a stir, being picked up by larger outlets, going viral online, and even being used as evidence in a Congressional hearing.

Many of the individuals profiled by MintPress have deleted the accounts and pages we used to expose their pasts. Others have simply removed the incriminating evidence from their biographies.

A prime example of this is Aaron Berman. Berman is Content Policy Global Lead at Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. In his own words, this role makes him the head of “the team that writes the rules for Facebook,” determining “what is acceptable and what is not” for the platform’s 3.1 billion users. He appears in numerous official Meta videos as the face of its global content moderation policy.

Aaron Berman is a CIA agent. Or at least he was until July 2019, when he left his post as senior analytic manager at the agency to become senior product policy manager for misinformation at Meta. A 15-year CIA veteran, Berman rose through the ranks of the agency to become one of its highest-ranking officials, being chosen to write the Presidential Daily Brief for both Obama and Trump.

Since MintPress made this information public, Berman has deleted his LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. He has since created a more anonymous LinkedIn profile, which does not feature either a picture or his surname, although it does note that among his professional skills are fluency in the Arabic language – a fact that raises even more questions about his past in the Central Intelligence Agency.

Berman is far from an isolated example of a former deep state official turned social media manager wiping this information from the net. Others who have deleted their accounts include:

Dawn Burton, who, in 2019, left her position as senior innovation advisor to the director at the FBI to become senior director of strategy and operations for legal, public policy, trust and safety at Twitter.

Jeff Carlton, a 14-year Marine Corps commander and a longtime intelligence analyst with both the CIA and FBI, who, in May 2021, left the government to be parachuted into Twitter, as its senior program manager for trust and safety.

Hayley Chang, the former deputy general counsel of the Department of Homeland and Security and a deputy assistant director of the FBI who left the bureau to become director and associate general counsel for Meta, working on cybersecurity and investigations.

Joey Chan, who, in 2021, left his position as a commander in the U.S. Army to become trust and safety program manager at Meta.

Ellen Nixon, a former FBI agent turned Facebook threat investigations manager.

Cherrelle Y., another former FBI agent working as a policy domain specialist for Twitter.

Oregon will spend more in its current budget period on free health care for immigrants regardless of legal status than on state police by $500 million or more, according to state officials and budget documents.

Oregon officials expect to spend $1.5 billion in combined state and federal taxpayer dollars on a program that offers health benefits to illegal aliens from 2025 to 2027. They expect to spend $717 million on Oregon State Police over the same period, the documents indicate.

The state’s health agency, the Oregon Health Authority, said in an email to the Daily Caller News Foundation that the state expects to allocate $1.2 billion to the program — originally named “Cover All People” and now called the “Healthier Oregon Program” (HOP). Oregon lays out budgets in two-year “bienniums.”

The federal government will supply 25% of the funding to provide health benefits to illegal aliens in Oregon, the OHA told the DCNF.

The data emblematizes some of the Democratic stronghold’s policy priorities — facilitating illegal immigrants’ access to health care and reducing criminal crackdowns. These very policies have touched off a government shutdown in Washington, D.C., and protests in Portland.

Medicaid — the joint federal-state program that traditionally provided health services to children, pregnant mothers and disabled adults — formally bars illegal immigrants from receiving benefits.

But some blue states have innovated creative accounting methods to extract federal dollars without the federal restrictions, according to the Paragon Health Institute, a non-partisan policy research group. Blue states will issue taxes on Medicaid insurers and providers, obtain a bundle of federal matching dollars for those funds, then return the taxed money to those institutions, the think tank points out.

Spending on health services for illegal aliens in Oregon has climbed by at least 1100% since the program’s introduction roughly four years ago.

A Ukrainian crypto tycoon was found dead inside his Lamborghini with a gunshot wound to his head, following one of the worst crashes in the digital currency market's history.

Konstantin Galich's body was found inside his luxury car, which was parked in Kyiv's Obolonskyi neighbourhood, alongside a gun registered in his name.

The 32-year-old, who was also known as Kostya Kudo, had become a well-known figure in the crypto industry and died after the market nosedived to record lows.

His death was confirmed on his Telegram channel in a post that read: "Konstantin Kudo tragically passed away. The causes are being investigated. We will keep you posted on any further news."

Kyiv Police are currently investigating whether his death was self-inflicted or involved foul play.

Galich co-founded the Cryptology Key trading academy, and he has a following of more than 66,000 people on Instagram.

The crypto mogul's death came as the digital currency market went into meltdown, with an estimated £14 billion ($19 billion) wiped off within hours.

Cryptocurrency giant Bitcoin saw its price fall by almost 10% to around $111,500, while the price of Ethereum coins also dropped to a record low over the weekend.

The last time the market crashed this drastically was during the coronavrius pandemic, a nosedive that cryptocurrencies had only just started to recover from, despite Trump's threats and retaliation fears from Beijing.

Galich's death has sparked tributes from across the crypto world.

One trader said: "An early Ukrainian crypto investor, builder, and believer, gone far too soon. This space moves fast, and sometimes we forget there are real people behind every wallet, every trade, every loss."

Trump bringing peace to the Middle East is important not just for the reasons of stopping violence, but because the Deep State are now EXTREMELY vulnerable.

South Africa was pointedly absent from the Gaza peace summit that convened Monday in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt, despite its experience in conflict resolution, after its strident opposition to Israel.

The list of 30 countries from four continents represented a broad range of backgrounds and interests. Arab and Muslim states were well represented, as were Asian countries, European leaders, and even — through Egypt — Africa.

However, South Africa was not involved.

South Africa has been one of the leading anti-Israel voices in the democratic world, falsely accusing Israel of “genocide” in a case at the International Court of Justice and otherwise attacking the Israeli government.

It has also led efforts to isolate Israel on the world stage for nearly 25 years.(Many of those countries did not actually do it only for Israel. And some did did not approve of what Israel was doing.)

One member of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) alliance was represented, in the form of the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs.

South Africa did not appear to react to the peace deal or hostage releases on Monday.

In that sense, South Africa evoked the example of the bittereinders — the Afrikaans term referring to those Afrikaners who refused to give up fighting the Boer War (1899-1902) until the “bitter end.”

Long after the rest of the region and the world had decided on a path to peace in the Middle East, South Africa finds itself one of the last holdouts for a path of increasing confrontation.

South Africa’s ruling party, the African National Congress, even met with Hamas.

Once priding itself on its peacemaking acumen, South Africa appears to have been left out in the cold.

The final Israeli hostages to be released by Hamas as part of President Donald Trump’s peace deal were reunited with their families on Monday — parents, children, brothers, sisters, lovers, friends, and neighbors.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released emotional photos and videos of reunions, as did the Government Press Office (GPO).

One photo in particular was particularly poignant: that of the reunion of Noa Argamani and her boyfriend, Avinatan Or.

The two were kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, in a scene watched around the world: as Avinatan was frog-marched toward Gaza by terrorists,Noa reached out from the back of a motorcycle as she was driven away by her captors.

Noa Argamani was rescued by Israeli soldiers in the daring “Operation Arnon,” one of the few successful hostage rescues executed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Few were attempted due to the risk to the hostages’ lives.

The hostages were released in Gaza to the Red Cross, then driven to IDF posts in Gaza, where they were examined and then taken to hospitals in Israel itself to meet their loves ones and be examined by doctors.

The hostages were released as President Trump addressed the Israeli parliament, or Knesset.

Trump then traveled to Egypt for a summit with over two dozen leaders who have committed to participating in the rebuilding of Gaza, under American supervision. Trump will lead the “Board of Peace,” overseeing the effort.

The future president was 17 years old. Blond hair, blue eyes, a strapping 6-foot-2 or 3. He wore a dapper military uniform: white-crowned cap emblazoned with a bald eagle, fully pressed blue uniform with badges and shiny buttons, pristine white gloves.

As the commanding officer of the drill team for the New York Military Academy, Donald John Trump stood on Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, the starting point of the Columbus Day Parade on Oct. 12, 1963.

The country was poised between the hope of the March on Washington, held 45 days prior, and the devastation of a presidential assassination in Dallas, 41 days ahead. It was a sunny afternoon, wind blowing out of the north as the teen-aged Trump began marching uptown.

Thousands of spectatorslined Fifth Avenue to watch the city honor the Italian explorer credited with “discovering” America in 1492.There was no talk of Indigenous People’s Day, no beheading of statues, no commander in chief denouncing efforts to dismantle memorials to Confederate generals or slaveholding presidents. There was no pandemic canceling Columbus Day parades across the country, including New York’s, which is being held virtually this year.
