MAGA infighting ignites over accusation Trump staged assassination.

Infighting has erupted amongst conservatives online after a =major voice in the MAGA media sphere (he is not part of the MAGA sphere) expressed belief in the conspiracy theory claiming that President Donald Trump staged his 2024 assassination attempt==.

This theory about the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on the presidential campaign trail is not new,but has to date largely circulated among fringe left-wing sources. The accusation hinges on several aspects of the incident, including the lack of scar left on Trump's ear, the situational wherewithal needed to defiantly raise his fist afterward, and the fact that the alleged gunman had supported him in the past, leading some to suspect that it was staged for political gain in an election that had existential stakes for Trump.

Now, however, as Trump has made numerous decisions in his second term that have run afoul of his MAGA supporters, an increasing number of them have also begun to cast doubt on the official narrative surrounding his assassination attempt.One of the most prominent names so far has been far-right pundit and influencer, Milo Yiannopoulos.

"I hate myself for thinking it but dude that s——t wasn't real," Yiannopoulos wrote in a recent post to X, responding to another similarly skeptical user."There was no assassination attempt. It didn't happen. I'm sorry it just didn't."

"As we learn more about the scam filled life of Donald Trump, why isn't there a serious investigation into the staged 'assassination' attempt in Butler, PA," another X anti-Trump Republican X user wrote in a post."THAT was the moment when Trump stole the 2024 election. Get after it investigative journalists! America deserves the truth!"

"I’ve never re-watched this clip until now," Hannah Cox, a self-described libertarian-conservative and president of BASEDPolitics, wrote in response to another user sharing a clip of the attempt from a news broadcast. "Look at the people behind him and their reactions. No one on earth would sit there like that after a public shooting broke out. Compare this to the crowd and people around Charlie Kirk when he’s shot."

In response to these skeptical conservative voices, infighting has broken out as others attempt to push back on their skepticism.

"President of BASEDpolitics (who was never based, of couse) •=suggesting Trump staged his own assassination attempt," Jeremy Carl, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute==, posted in response to Cox. "These grifters and clowns can’t leave the scenes fast enough for me."

Another user, going by "Brick Suit," attempted to shut down these theories by sharing their own front row footage from the Butler event itself. Trump's combative White House communications director shared their post, adding,"For those of us who were there with POTUS at Butler, anyone saying it was staged truly needs to have their heads checked out because they have no sense of reality."

Israel Carries Out First Strike On Syria Amid War As U.S. Pressure Damascus To Invade Lebanon

The United States pushed for Syria to consider sending forces into eastern Lebanon to fight Hezbollah, but Damascus is reluctant to be drawn into the conflict, Reuters reported on March 17.

Five sources, two of whom are Syrian officials, told the news agency that the idea was first discussed by U.S. and Syrian officials last year.

They said that the proposal was raised again by U.S. officials around the time the American-Israeli war on Iran started. The two Syrian officials said that the request arrived shortly before the attacks began, while a western intelligence source said that it came shortly after the strikes started.

According to the report, which cites ten sources including six Syrian officials and government advisers, Damascus had been cautiously considering a cross-border operation but remained hesitant.

There have been growing signs of a possible Syrian intervention against Hezbollah in Lebanon, where Israel is currently conducting a military operation in parallel with the war on Iran.

Hezbollah, a Shia group, was a close ally to Syria’s former president, Bashar al-Assad, who was overthrown more than a year ago by a coalition of Sunni Islamist rebels led by current Syrian president, Ahamd al-Sharaa.

Syria began deploying reinforcements along the border with Lebanon weeks before the start of the war, and last month Lebanese Al Akhbar reported that high-ranking officials in Lebanon received information indicating that Sharaa said during a closed meeting with his senior officials: “Now it is Hezbollah’s turn, and we will not forget our revenge.”

Shortly after the outbreak of the war on Iran, Syria escalated against Hezbollah by accusing the group of firing mortars across the border close to Damascus.

Later, Sharaa went on to declare his support to efforts to disarm Hezbollah during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. He affirmed that this step is “essential for solidifying Lebanese state sovereignty and shielding the region from the repercussions of ongoing regional armed conflicts,” according to a readout of the call published by SANA.

Sharaa’s hesitation to join the war against Hezbollah may have provoked Israel. On March 17, i24NEWS reported that the Israeli military struck a truck carrying weapons in Syria overnight. A strike was indeed reported in the countryside of the southern Syrian governorate of al-Suwayda, close to the border with Jordan.

Al-Suwayda is held by Druze armed factions backed by Israel, which reportedly warned Sharaa against moving there during the war with Iran.

i24NEWS described the latest strike as “dramatic,” because Israel has not carried out a “war-between-the-wars” operation in Syria since the fall of the Assad regime, and “in addition, it has not attacked Syrian regime assets since the beginning of the talks” mediated by the U.S.

Major General Antonio Aguto was found to have mishandled secrets and suffered a concussion after excessive drinking on a trip to Kiev

The US Army general who oversaw Washington’s military assistance to Ukraine left classified maps on a train in Europe and suffered a concussion after a night of heavy drinking, according to a recently released report by the Pentagon Inspector General.

Retired Major General Antonio Aguto Jr. commanded the Germany-based Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U) from its activation in November 2022 until August 2024.

The unit, consisting of approximately 300 personnel, was responsible for coordinating the training and equipping of Ukrainian forces.

According to the 56-page report published on Friday, based on interviews with Aguto and 33 witnesses following anonymous complaints, the general improperly handled classified materials during an April 2024 trip to Ukraine.

Aguto brought a tube of maps classified as ‘Secret’ to Kiev, but, on the return journey from Ukraine to Germany, his party left them behind on the train when they disembarked in Poland.

The documents were recovered 24 hours later by the US Embassy in Ukraine when the train returned.

A month later, during another trip to Ukraine, Aguto attended a six-hour dinner in Kiev described as a military engagement. Witnesses reported he drank approximately two 500ml bottles of chacha, a Georgian brandy containing 40-50% alcohol.

That evening, Aguto fell in his hotel room, striking his head, then fell again in the early morning and a third time en route to the US Embassy, tearing his jacket and hitting his jaw.

The next day, he appeared at a meeting with then-Secretary of State Antony Blinken looking “completely disheveled” and “out of it,” slurring his words and acting “cognitively diminished.” He was later diagnosed with a moderate-to-severe concussion.

Investigators determined the falls resulted from “overindulgence in alcohol,” finding that Aguto violated Defense Department policies. The general disagreed, claiming he had received verbal permission from his superior.

Aguto relinquished command in August 2024 and retired shortly after.

His service coincided with the massive military support campaign for Ukraine led by then-US President Joe Biden, which included billions in weapons and other assistance.

Moscow has consistently condemned Western military aid to Kiev, arguing it only prolongs the conflict without changing its inevitable outcome.

Hungary accuses Ukraine of blocking delegation from visiting vital oil pipeline

Kiev has rejected proposals for a meeting, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said

Ukraine is refusing to resume oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline for purely political reasons despite the infrastructure being fully functional, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Tuesday.

He added that Kiev has declined a proposed trilateral meeting with Hungary and Slovakia to discuss the issue.

The Ukrainian authorities are preventing vital Russian oil from reaching Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline, which runs through Ukraine, claiming it was damaged by Russian strikes – allegations Moscow rejects.

Budapest and Bratislava have accused Kiev of blackmail and also say Brussels has sided with Ukraine instead of backing the two EU member states.

“It has become really obvious that there is no technical or physical reason for the oil supply not to be restarted to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline,” Szijjarto said at a press conference in Brussels, accusing Kiev of making “a pure political decision.”

The minister added that a trilateral meeting with the Ukrainian Minister of Energy in Brussels initiated by Budapest and Bratislava was “cancelled again by the Ukrainians.”

He highlighted that Kiev has rejected all the initiatives taken by Hungary, Slovakia and even by the EU to allow a site visit to see the actual state of the pipeline.

Szijjarto reiterated that a delegation from the Hungarian Energy Ministry spent more than three days in Ukraine last week, but all requests for meetings with Ukrainian energy officials were rejected by Kiev.

“So, you know, I can’t tell you anything, but if a country keeps us under an oil blockade, then that given country cannot expect us to support any decisions here in Brussels in favor of them,” the minister said. “That’s the case.”

In response to Kiev halting supplies through the Soviet-built pipeline, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban vetoed a new round of EU sanctions against Russia and blocked the €90 billion ($105 billion) loan package.

On Monday, Szijjarto confirmed that Budapest would continue to oppose the bailout for Ukraine until Kiev resumes oil supplies.

Hungary, a longstanding opponent of Ukraine’s EU membership bid, has consistently refused to send weapons to Kiev or approve EU military aid, calling instead for a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

India arrests Ukrainians and American for alleged terror training – media

The National Investigating Agency has reportedly detained the group on suspicion that they aided insurgents in Myanmar

India’s anti-terrorism agency has arrested six Ukrainians and an American for alleged links with insurgents in Myanmar.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken the group into custody for questioning, with a Delhi court ordering their detention until March 27, the New Indian Express (NIE) reported on Tuesday.

The NIA is probing their alleged illegal entry into India and involvement in terrorist activities in the restive north-eastern part of the country.

According to the report, three of the Ukrainian citizens were arrested in Delhi, and the rest in the northern Indian city of Lucknow.

The US citizen was arrested in the eastern city of Kolkata.

The NIA suspects that the foreign nationals entered Mizoram in India’s north-east, before crossing over to Myanmar, where they allegedly came in contact with ethnic insurgent groups linked to violence in India.

The group are also accused of bringing a large consignment of drones from Europe, according to the NIE report.

The federal government announced in 2024 that a national counter-terrorism policy and strategy were being drafted to counter the terrorist ecosystem.

Following the terror attack in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in April last year, the NIA held discussions with anti-terrorism units from all states to brief them on steps aimed at preventing such attacks.

Terrorist cells operating from abroad tap the infrastructure, logistics, and terrain knowledge of local groups, according to a policy document from the Indian Home Ministry.

Marec, a leading progressive nonprofit, together with investigative journalist Borut Mekina from the outlet Mladina, says that on December 22, 2025, Zorella, who founded the infamous private intelligence firm, and Eiland, who serves as its adviser, landed at Ljubljana airport.

The report says they arrived on a private jet - a Hawker 800XP registered as 4X-CNZ to Arrow Aviation of Tel Aviv, a charter service known to cater to both senior businesspeople and officials. According to information obtained by the Slovenian journalist, there were four Israeli passengers on the flight, and they made their way to the headquarters of Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party after landing. Janša is now vying to regain power in the country, where elections are scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Hours after the report's publication, Slovenia's intelligence agency, SOVA, reportedly confirmed to the parliamentary Intelligence Oversight Commission that four Black Cube representatives were indeed in Slovenia on December 22, as reported by the N1 Slovenia news channel. However, according to the broadcaster, SOVA said it does not have information about whether they met Janša and it did not confirm whether the Israeli firm was involved in the party's election campaign.

The allegations have erupted in the final stretch of a tight campaign ahead of the 22 March vote. In recent weeks, covertly filmed videos of figures linked to Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob's liberal coalition appeared on an anonymous English-language website, anti-corruption2026.com, which lists no owner, editor, or contact information. The recordings show a former minister and prominent lawyer discussing alleged illegal activities, The Slovenia Times reported. All of them say the recordings were selectively edited as part of what they and many others now describe as a sting operation intended to harm the ruling party at the ballot box.

The minister, for example, said she was contacted by people claiming to be from a British investment fund called Stockard Capital, who invited her to meetings in Vienna under the pretext of investing in data centers. The meetings were then secretly filmed. The fund appears to be fake: all public information about Stockard Capital has since vanished.

The Slovenian investigation draws structural comparisons between the recordings posted on the anonymous website and past Black Cube operations documented as part of political campaigns, suggesting the firm could be linked to current events, with the meeting and flight in the background.

Ukraine targets Moscow with drones for 4th consecutive day, launching at least 40 in latest strike

Russian air defenses intercepted 206 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight on March 17, including 40 that were heading toward Moscow, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Russian authorities reported drone attacks on the capital for the fourth consecutive day. Ukraine has not commented on the recent strikes.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that swarms of Ukrainian drones were intercepted beginning around 10 p.m. local time, lasting into the early morning.

As of 6:15 a.m. Moscow time, 39 drones had allegedly been downed. Emergency crews have been dispatched to the crash sites, and no casualties or damage have been reported.

Russian authorities have not reported any casualties or damage from the attack.

The total number of drones launched by Ukraine remains unclear, as Russia only reports drones it says were intercepted.

The Kyiv Independent could not verify the reports at the time of publication.

The latest drone swarms on the Russian capital comes amid an apparent increase in attacks on Moscow in recent days.

Sobyanin claimed on March 16 that over 250 drones, not including the latest totals, had been shot down over Moscow's sky since March 14.

Ukraine regularly launches drone attacks against military and industrial facilities in Russia.

Drone strikes on Moscow have been reported on several occasions, though the capital is well-defended against aerial threats.

Many of these attacks have triggered temporary airport closures, which Ukrainian officials previously have said is part of a strategy to return the Kremlin's war home to the Russian population.

Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has signed a memorandum on a long-term strategic partnership on drone production with Swift Beat LLC, a U.S. company. Although it may seem like an ordinary case, as dozens of drone makers had partnered with Ukraine before, if you look more closely, very interesting facts are starting to surface.

Notably, the agreement was signed in the presence of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy between the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and the CEO of Swift Beat Eric Schmidt, in Denmark. The deal stipulates an expansion of the American company's production capacities and supplying Ukraine with interceptor drones "on a priority basis, under special terms and at cost price."

The Presidential Office states that "hundreds of thousands of drones" will be delivered this year already, with further output increase in 2026. As also mentioned, the U.S. company already has a significant presence in Ukraine and specializes in UAVs with artificial intelligence. This is where we should dig a little deeper.

The first thing to look at is Swift Beat itself, owned by the Tallinn-based Volya Robotics OÜ, whose sole beneficiary is the aforementionedEric Schmidt. Another interesting fact about the new partner of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is its initiated renaming to White Stork, which for some reason was either not completed or canceled.

The connection between the companies can be traced via Eric Schmidt, who, in addition to being involved in their operations, actively toured Ukrainian enterprises and technology test sites, studying our experience and offering his help. However, Schmidt's using a tangled network of companies complicates digging for details, enshrouding these activities in secrecy.

Therefore, let's take a closer look at Swift Beat's director himself. Until February 2020, he worked at Google for 19 years, 10 of them as CEO. At the same time, Schmidt is no stranger to the defense industry either. In 2016–2020 he headed the Defense Innovation Advisory Board at the Pentagon, and in 2019–2021 he was on the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI) under the U.S. President.

Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Schmidt has actively promoted drones as a cheap and effective weapon. He has also injected millions of dollars in the Ukrainian D3 startup accelerator and met with representatives of the Ukrainian government.

As we can see, Schmidt is not some little-known person associated with shady companies but a big persona in the niche of artificial intelligence and Western defense, who had contacts in Ukraine. That is, the secrecy surrounding the involved companies can be attributed to the intent to advance work confidentially.
