Dice rollRolled 4, 43 + 5 = 52 (2d100)

‎I need help. I don't know where else to turn. This is going to sound insane, but I can't let it go.

‎

‎Today I was browsing the dusty back shelves of a second-hand bookstore. I pulled out a nondescript, leather-bound book with no title, no author, and no publisher markings. The pages were old, brittle, and smelled of ozone and decay. Inside the front cover, someone had carved a string of characters into the wood. It wasn't written; it was gouged, deep and precise.

‎

‎I ran it through every search engine. Google, Yandex, DuckDuckGo, even the deep web crawlers. Zero results. It's a ghost string. It doesn't exist. I've tried hash identifier tools — it doesn't match common MD5, SHA-1, or SHA-256 formats. It's not a standard UUID. It feels... deliberate. Like a key without a lock.

‎

‎But that wasn't the only thing. Tucked into the pages was a single, heavy sheet of vellum. On it, a sequence of numbers, separated by dashes. I've tried a simple A1Z26 cipher (A=1, B=2), but the resulting text is fragmented, like a corrupted file trying to render as language. It feels like it's meant to be read, but through a different lens.

‎

‎Here is the sequence: 4-13-1-3-15-1-33 17-18-10-14-1-15-12-1 15-6 3 20-16-14 25-20-16 3-29 3-10-5-10-20-6. 1 3 20-16-14 25-20-16 16-19-20-1-7-20-19-33 15-6-3-10-5-10-14-29-14

‎

‎I've been staring at these two pieces for hours. The carved string and the number sequence. They were in the same book. They have to be related. Is the alphanumeric string a key for the numbers? Is it a seed? An index? Or are they two separate fragments of the same puzzle?

‎

‎The book has been checked out from the library of the world, but the record is missing. I feel like I've stumbled into the first page of something I don't understand. I've never seen an ARG or a puzzle start like this, with a completely null-search string.

‎

‎I am posting this here, in the shadows, because you are the only ones who look for things that aren't there. If you've seen this string before, or if you see a pattern in the numbers that I'm blind to, please, break the silence.

‎

‎What does it mean?

Is this real? I don't know. I don't think people who hang out here go to bookstores

My head hurts. I will look into it later. I like puzzles. I will try to think about it

I don't think this is real. But it looks fun

Pics or it didn't happen

This is not tg. Go get a tat of a long sleeping bug or some shit I guess. What are they called? Cas-seat-us? I do not care.

Good try though, but I don't care. It'd take a crowd here to care. Try the webring, they are more likely to post intelligently. zzzchan dot xyz is one of them, though they have tyrannical mods on the webring and they judge by post history as well. It's not that they have enough people, they're just not that retarded. Drama cravers though, they banned their own most powerful mod with global access when he did nothing technically that the admin wouldn't do just because the adnim is frwendz in real life with one of the shittier mods. Scuttlebutt was that they went to college together, meaning that the admin is a giant normalfag basically. I'm jus' sayin', their /b/ is the only intelligent /b/ you might see, though it used to be better years ago.

Also, the only thing it reminds me of are motherless urls. After the forward slash code that looks similar but far shorter, like seven characters per video, or maybe 8 in video galleries, but they seized the servers so I can't even be sure of the character length of the dead website. SC could be the site and the code could be the rest of the link. The 'cypher' could just be a password. SC could be a lot of things.

>school/secrete/etc

>suicide children

>silence/stupid cunts

>source

>south carolina

That's just how I feel about it. It'd be like five to eight motherless links though. If it led to a site with archived/compressed/zipped/etc files it might need the password to open them even if the site were anonymous and you did not log in. A virus with a keylogger might be installed if you did that after finding the sc website, if I'm right, and then if they like you then you get to go to their ring? Gated communities need delivery boys you know. *wink wink*

Of course, I've got a low IQ, so I can't take your bullshit seriously.
