Lots and lots of interesting things therein. The motivation seems to be that they got wind of the Americans expecting a major catastrophe in 2012 and wanted to understand why.

They had access to the captured German research from the late 1930s as well as Tibetan manuscripts and made some very up to date conclusions about the role of electromagnetism and planetary dynamics. The odd thing is the hypothesized the existence of a massive "Iron Planet" that induced all these electrical effects that would be explained today with Birkeland Currents through space and the plasma physics that came later.

The other odd thing is the scope of the work, going back half a million years and suggesting alien origin of humanity, based on the Sumarian clay tablets describing their Creation myths. Not the last few thousand years favoured today.

I have only glanced at it so far but it looks excellent. Lots of things wrong with it of course but lots seems right and is a remarkable thing to put together in the 1980s. They were after all the number one intelligence-gathering operation at the time.

I am also familiar with it now and came to this through my own research, completely independent of what you refer to. However, after my personal, in-depth interpretation of the information presented in the document, I come to somewhat different conclusions. This is not the place to discuss all of that here, but I want to emphasize one thing very clearly here, namely that the file was not simply released as 'declassified'! After the fall of the USSR, the file came into the hands of KGB general MERKULOV who was responsible for its management and research. He published many related photos on the internet for money that could then be purchased. The text remained unpublished. I therefore do not think your position on deliberate disinformation is correct. (We could discuss that separately) So also the associated word 'lies'. That really hurts me I must admit. What I also do not find in your analysis is the question 'How did the Russians come to compile this file?' My own research clearly points in the direction of the Second World War when the Soviet army took over the German headquarters (OKH) in Berlin, where they found files of the "Ahnenerbe" organization. This Ahnenerbe is therefore mentioned several times in the file, as well as anonymous 'German scientists'. The research results of the Ahnenerbe and their Tibet research in 1937-38 form the basis of this entire KGB file! The Russians were so surprised by the accuracy of the presented facts that they have carried out the entire research again, now with modern insights and techniques. This re-investigation is presented in the file. What should also not be forgotten is that the Tibet expedition under "Schäfer" contains a great deal of information that they received from the Tibetans and the Dalai Lama himself! This information goes back to the time when the Tibetans still knew about a "Tibet by the Sea"!!! How far back their knowledge of cosmological knowledge goes is unclear, but extraterrestrial contact cannot be ruled out.

I think it is really something of the current zeitgeist to regard everything that exceeds our imagination as an attempt at disinformation. As a European, I see this happening especially among many Americans, partly due to our own current society that is completely based on disinformation! No wonder that you adopt this way of thinking. In my opinion, this does absolutely no justice to the scientific value and the content of the original document!

I think that is a pretty convincing explanation. So not misinformation then.
