PRESS RELEASE – “MEXICO CITY — “Today, the United States and Mexico concluded the first bilateral round related to the Joint Review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement(USMCA).

The United States concluded discussions with thegoals of reducing the trade deficit with Mexico and strengthening American supply chains. During this first round, negotiators discussed priority issues related toautomotive rules of origin, steel and aluminum, and economic security.

The United States and Mexico recognize theimportance of advancing cooperation to enhance regulatory compatibility to strengthen sectors, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic products, and others.

In eighteen eighty-six the largest gold deposit ever discovered was found beneath the Transvaal in South Africa. The Boer farmers who owned the land had no idea what was about to happen to them. Within thirteen years Britain had sent four hundred and fifty thousand soldiers to take it.

The war was publicly justified as a campaign to protect British settlers denied voting rights by the Boer government. But behind that justification was a financial network built over twenty years — connecting the most powerful private banking house in Britain, the most ambitious imperialist of the Victorian era, and the man specifically appointed to make conflict inevitable.

N.M. Rothschild and Sons had been financing Cecil Rhodes since he entered the Kimberley diamond fields in eighteen seventy-one. By eighteen eighty-eight Rothschild capital had built De Beers Consolidated Mines into a monopoly controlling ninety percent of global diamond production. When gold was discovered at Witwatersrand in eighteen eighty-six the same partnership moved to control the gold fields. The problem was that the gold lay inside an independent Boer republic whose president had no intention of surrendering political control of the Transvaal to British mining interests.

The Jameson Raid of eighteen ninety-five — a privately financed military coup attempt organised through the Rhodes network — failed catastrophically. Alfred Milner was then appointed British High Commissioner for South Africa with a specific brief. His private correspondence — held at the Bodleian Library in Oxford — documents in his own words that he considered war the most satisfactory outcome and that he was determined to force the issue. He spent two years rejecting every Boer concession and engineering the diplomatic conditions that made war inevitable. Four days after the Peace of Vereeniging ended the war in May nineteen oh two the first gold mine on the Witwatersrand reopened.

$13 Billion Commonwealth LNG Project Gets Green Light in Louisiana

Caturus announced Friday it has reached final investment decision (FID) on the long-delayed 9.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Commonwealth LNG export terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, backed by $9.75 billion in project financing and more than $21 billion in total capital commitments.

The roughly $13 billion project marks one of the largest U.S. LNG export developments approved this year and further cements America’s position as the world’s dominant LNG supplier.

The Commonwealth facility is expected to begin operations in 2030 and will have the capability to load LNG carriers up to 216,000 cubic meters. Long-term offtake agreements have already been secured with a roster of major global counterparties including EQT, Glencore, Mercuria, PETRONAS and Aramco Trading.

“This landmark occasion … is the culmination of years of strategic planning, strong partnerships and commitment to delivering a fully integrated ‘wellhead-to-water’ project,” said Ben Dell, managing partner of Kimmeridge and chairman of Commonwealth LNG.

The project is central to Caturus’ strategy of building a vertically integrated gas platform spanning upstream production through LNG exports. The company said it now produces more than 1 billion cubic feet equivalent per day following its recent acquisition of Galvan Ranch assets from SM Energy.

The financing group includes existing investors Mubadala Energy and CPP Investments, alongside funding from BlackRock, Ares Management and EOC Partners.

Engineering and construction work will be led by Technip Energies, which has already begun procurement of major long-lead equipment. The terminal will use Baker Hughes LM9000 gas turbines, Honeywell cryogenic heat exchangers, and Solar Turbines power generation systems.

South Africa port authority moves ahead with LNG terminal development

South Africa’s Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has signed a 25-year terminal operator agreement with Ukwanda LNG to develop an onshore LNG regasification facility at the Port of Ngqura.

The project, valued at approximately ZAR 22bn ($1.35bn), will position Ngqura as a strategic energy hub while advancing South Africa’s energy security and industrial growth.

It is a direct response to the country’s Just Energy Transition programme, which aims to unlock a planned 6GW gas-to-power pipeline. The LNG facility will serve as critical fuel infrastructure to support a 3GW gas-to-power allocation, providing lower-carbon baseload electricity to complement South Africa’s growing renewable energy mix.

The project, designated as a national strategic integrated project, includes a temporary floating unit and the construction of permanent onshore infrastructure to supply gas to off-takers, industry, data centres, and independent power producers, enabling the production of around 3.5GW of electricity within the Coega Special Economic Zone.

A dedicated ZAR 2bn ($123m) LNG berth will be constructed by TNPA simultaneously with the onshore facility, targeting full operationalisation by 2035.

“By formalising this terminal operator agreement, TNPA is not only executing its landlord mandate, but actively constructing the foundational infrastructure necessary to support industrial growth and facilitate the delivery of reliable, lower-carbon energy into the national grid,” said Michelle Phillips, Transnet chief executive.

The project is expected to create over 500 jobs during the approximately 36-month construction period and 50 permanent jobs post-construction, driving investment, skills development, and industrial growth in the Eastern Cape.

Abstract

Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, May 28, 2026 Docket No. FDA-2026-N-3962 Absent from the agenda of the May 28, 2026 VRBPAC meeting, is a review of COVID-19 vaccine safety. This absence is startling given the findings of a recent Majority interim report of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. This report revealed that FDA was aware that its primary vaccine safety early warning system was effectively disabled for COVID-19 vaccines because of a phenomenon called masking. The report documents FDA’s refusal to implement available solutions and its attempts to silence those raising concerns about masking. Hundreds of safety signals were lost, representing potential risk FDA was required to consider for an EUA, without proving causality. The suppression of this largely uninvestigated potential risk by masking, including the failure to inform VRBPAC which was being asked to make recommendations on the “totality of evidence,” is both a scientific and a regulatory failure. It impugns the reliability of decisions regarding authorization, approval, and vaccine injury compensation. So serious is the problem that the ability to detect VAERS safety signals for ALL OTHER vaccines is compromised because VAERS is inundated with COVID-19 vaccine reports across a wide variety of event types. These findings challenge the core tenets of public policy on COVID-19 vaccination, and as former FDA and CDC officials Marks and Jernigan noted: “failure to detect and communicate a serious health issue related to a vaccine could impact confidence not only in COVID-19 vaccines but in all vaccines.” I recommend that VRBPAC ask HHS Secretary to provide a corrective action plan within 30 days.
