On February 26, 2025, Judge Torres issued an order scheduling a conference regarding Miles Guo’s case for March 3, 2025, at 1:00PM. The conference will be held in Courtroom 15D located at 500 Pearl St., New York, NY 10007.

On February 26, 2025,Judge Torres issued an order granting the Government’s request that, with respect to Yanping Wang’s case, victim compensation occur through remission as an alternative to restitution. Information regarding the method that victims can apply for remission payments will be forthcoming.

Monday, January 6, 2025 Update:

On January 6, 2025, Judge Torressentenced Yanping “Yvette” Wang to 120 months imprisonment followed by three years supervised release. Wang was also required to pay a special assessment of $200 and forfeit $1.4 billion representing proceeds of the crimes of conviction.

Friday, December 20, 2024 Update:

Today, Judge Torres adjourned Miles Guo’s sentencing in order to resolve an issue relating to Guo’s retained counsel. The Court has not rescheduled Guo’s sentencing yet. Guo’s retained counsel is required to submit briefing to the Court on December 30, 2024.

Yanping Wang’s sentencing is going forward, as scheduled, on January 6, 2025 at 9:30 AM. 500 Pearl Street, Courtroom 15D.

On March 15, 2023, the United States Attorney’sOffice announced the unsealing of an indictment charging HO WAN KWOK, a/k/a “Miles Guo,” and KIN MING JE, a/k/a “William Je,” with wire fraud, securities fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering charges in connection with an alleged complex scheme to solicit more than $1 billion of investments in various entities and programs through false statements and representations. As charged, KWOK lied to his victims and promised them outsized returns if they invested in, or provided money to, KWOK-controlled entities, including GTV Media, the Himalaya Farm Alliance, G|CLUBS, and the Himalaya Exchange. KWOK and JE allegedly misappropriated hundreds of millions of dollars in fraudulently obtained funds, including for the purchase of a mansion and luxury vehicles. KWOK was arrested on March 15, 2023 in New York, New York. Je is currently at large. The case is assigned to United States District Judge Analisa Torres. USPS quietly changed when postmarks are applied to mail. It’s part of their overall “Delivering for America” plan. Instead of same day, your 1st class and similar mail might now get the postmark stamp 1 to 2 days after they took possession of the mail piece. If you want to ensure a same-day postmark, USPS recommends going to a retail counter at any USPS post office.

The processing and distribution centers that apply postmarks are staying the same. It’s the transportation time and movement methods of the mail that have changed. It appears this change will predominantly affect rural areas, which typically vote Republican. Voters should now mail ballots at least 2 days earlier than in any previous election.

Trump Delivers Ultimatum to Opponents of SAVE America Act.

President Donald J. Trump has issued an ultimatum on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act, declaring he will never endorse any lawmaker who votes against the legislation. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump described the bill as one of the most significant pieces of legislation in congressional history. He positioned it as a critical safeguard against “RIGGED ELECTIONS” and made clear that opposition would cost his political backing.

He framed support for the measure as a test of sanity in Congress, stating: “The Save America Act is one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself. NO MORE RIGGED ELECTIONS! Voter I.D., Proof of Citizenship, No Rigged Mail-In Voting (We are the only Country in the World that allows this!), No Men in Women’s Sports, No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our Children. 90% to 99% ISSUES ALL! Only sick, demented, or deranged people in the House or Senate could vote against THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. If they do, each one of these points, separately, will be used against the user in his/her political campaign for office – A guaranteed loss! Get your Senators, REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT, to VOTE ‘YES’ ON ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.’ I WILL NEVER (EVER!) However, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has rejected the bill, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD)—while officially promoting it—has declined to abolish the filibuster or attempt a talking filibuster to pass it, making its failure all but certain. Republicans do not currently have the 60 votes needed to invoke cloture and advance the measure.

In recent years, the Senate has operated under a “silent filibuster,” allowing bills to stall without extended floor debate. Shifting to a traditional “talking filibuster” would force Democrats to deliver prolonged speeches on the floor. Thune has resisted this approach because it would require Republicans to maintain a continuous 51-vote quorum to avoid adjournment.

The standoff is already influencing key political races. In Texas, the contentious Republican Senate primary runoff between anti-Trump incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and America First state Attorney General Ken Paxton has centered heavily on the issue. Cornyn, long a staunch defender of the 60-vote threshold, recently wrote in a New York Post op-ed claiming that he is now open to altering Senate rules to help pass the SAVE America Act. Paxton, a longtime supporter of the SAVE Act, has dismissed this shift as a last-minute, pressure-driven change to secure Trump’s backing.
