On March 3, 2025, Judge Torres held a conference concerning Miles Guo’s motion to change his counsel. No decision was issued, and that motion remains pending. The defense must propose redactions, if any, to Guo's appointment of counsel submissions by March
Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Update
On February 26, 2025, Judge Torres issued an order scheduling a conference regarding Miles Guo’s case for March 3, 2025, at 1:00PM. The conference will be held in Courtroom 15D located at 500 Pearl St., New York, NY 10007.
On February 26, 2025,Judge Torres issued an order granting the Government’s request that, with respect to Yanping Wang’s case, victim compensation occur through remission as an alternative to restitution. Information regarding the method that victims can apply for remission payments will be forthcoming.
Monday, January 6, 2025 Update:
On January 6, 2025, Judge Torressentenced Yanping “Yvette” Wang to 120 months imprisonment followed by three years supervised release. Wang was also required to pay a special assessment of $200 and forfeit $1.4 billion representing proceeds of the crimes of conviction.
Friday, December 20, 2024 Update:
Today, Judge Torres adjourned Miles Guo’s sentencing in order to resolve an issue relating to Guo’s retained counsel. The Court has not rescheduled Guo’s sentencing yet. Guo’s retained counsel is required to submit briefing to the Court on December 30, 2024.
Yanping Wang’s sentencing is going forward, as scheduled, on January 6, 2025 at 9:30 AM. 500 Pearl Street, Courtroom 15D.

On March 29, 2023, a superseding indictment was filed, charging KWOK, JE, and YANPING WANG, a/k/a “Yvette” in connection with the alleged $1 billion fraud. United States v. KWOK et al., S1 23 Cr. 118 (AT).WANG, who had been charged by complaint with wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering charges, was arrested on March 15, 2023in New York, NY. WANG was ordered detained pending satisfaction of all conditions of bail.
