ACMF welcomes new Avian Influenza funding package
The Australian Chicken Meat Federa on (ACMF) has welcomed the announcement today of
$95 million in federal funding to support prepara ons for and response to a poten al
outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1 a wildlife adapted strain of Avian Influenza strain in
Australia. ACMF take this opportunity to thank the federal government for their con nued
investment in H5N1 preparedness and ongoing collabora ve efforts with industry.
Ac vi es to be funded under the package will complement the extensive preparedness
program already being pursued by industry to help ensure the best outcome for the
environment, wildlife and the agriculture sector.
ACMF CEO Dr Mary Wu says the government funding, which includes $37 million for
agriculture, almost $36 million for the environment and over $20 million for the health sector,
will help posi on Australia to respond and recover should H5N1 reach our shores.
“We’re par cularly pleased to see a focus in this package on wildlife surveillance, as we know
from overseas experience that incursion in wildlife represents a significant threat to the
produc on sector. We also welcome the environmental and human health investments which
sit alongside the agricultural investment to create a strong ‘one health’ approach.
“Industry has been well-engaged in planning and preparing for H5N1. We welcome the
ini a ves under this new funding package and we look forward to con nuing to work with
government and other sectors to safeguard food security.”

A life filled with so much love, warmth, and resilience was stolen by a senseless act of violence. Words cannot describe the pain and shock our family is navigating right now. After beating cancer twice, her life was taken by a violent individual with prior criminal charges of violence.
A Life Cut Short Just Before Retirement
Susan was a beacon of light to everyone who knew her. She spent her entire life working tirelessly, pouring her heart into her family, and putting others before herself. She was just on the brink of retiring—a milestone she had worked so hard for and was so excited to finally enjoy.
She was looking forward to relaxing, spending endless time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoying the peaceful next chapter of her life. Tragically, that future was stolen from her and from all of us who loved her so deeply.
Making this even harder, her 62nd birthday is right around the corner August 3rd Instead of celebrating this special day together and planning her retirement party, we are now forced to plan her funeral.

Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was brutally booed off the stage and heckled by a crowd of young libertarians and conservatives during a speech at the Young Americans for Liberty national convention in Cincinnati this week.
The incident took place Wednesday night at Xavier University, as the 40-year-old former presidential candidate and co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency was roughly halfway through a planned 30-minute address when the audience turned on him.
Ramaswamy had been discussing generational challenges when he declared, “The truth of the matter is, you know, no matter what happens, whichever direction we go, people of my generation have already made it. We’re gonna be fine. It’s going to be your generation.”
The remark triggered overwhelming booing that was impossible to ignore.
One attendee shouted that Ramaswamy was “a political freak” and told him to “get the f-ck out of here,” while others called him a “political cretin.”

Reports also noted earlier heckling over issues including Israel, immigration, data centers, and energy prices.
After struggling to continue, Ramaswamy wrapped up abruptly, said “Peace out, see you guys,” and left the stage to a continued chorus of boos.
Ramaswamy has been facing serious challenges with connecting to younger voters, even as he campaigns in a reliably Republican state.
Despite being in a red state and having massive endorsements, including from outgoing Governor Mike DeWine, recent polling has shown him trailing or in a tight contest against Democrat candidate Amy Acton.
Acton seized on the incident, criticizing Ramaswamy’s comments as reflective of an entitled billionaire mindset.

On July 14, the State Leadership Initiative was honored to host the Florida DOGE team and their tech partners, Vulcan, Echelon, and DigiBuild, for the Florida DOGE Showcase in Washington, D.C. Spearheaded by Governor Ron DeSantis, the state has become the leader for providing accountable and efficient governance to its citizens.
Since its creation in 2025, the Florida DOGE team has identified nearly $1 billion in waste and abuse at the local government level and sent over $878 million back to the federal government. But the team’s work extends beyond fiscal savings and budgetary cuts—it also includes auditing university curriculum and state union programs and reining in rogue municipalities that had adopted woke-left policies.
Take Florida’s SB 1134, which banned counties and municipalities from using government funds for discriminatory DEI programs and activities. Florida DOGE found that local governments were forcing employees to undergo “Transgender Humility” training, which included the use of a “wheel of power/privilege” that singled out certain ethnic groups as being worse than others. In some extreme cases, the team found that local governments were directing taxpayer dollars to immigration lawyers who represented criminal illegal aliens. All of this was identified by Florida DOGE and prohibited by law.
This ideological audit was most prevalent in universities, where the team examined over 74,000 syllabi and 100,000 research articles for left-wing ideological content. Funding for these DEI-related activities was effectively halted through SB 266 and SB 7044. While the federal DOGE program failed to codify reform through legislation, Florida DOGE succeeded.
Florida DOGE has proven it is the model to emulate. The next step is to provide the blueprint for bringing it to other states.
Enter the State DOGE Playbook, a collaborative effort between the State Leadership Initiative and the Florida DOGE team. This is a step-by-step guide to ensure that these reforms are not merely a temporary win for a single executive’s tenure, but a long-term fundamental shift in how red states govern.
Instead of Elon Musk drawing from his own stable of engineers, Florida hired volunteers and tech-minded interns to leverage new technologies to conduct investigations and root out waste and ideological indoctrination previously unheard of at the state level. Many of Florida DOGE’s accomplishments were secured with a team of only three full-time employees, supplemented by a staff Florida put together. SLI is proud to be part of this effort; we even sent two of our own to act as special government employees, at no cost to the state, to help identify shadow government organizations funded by the state, local governments, and universities.
All that’s needed are a few liaisons for law enforcement and legislators, and the rest is bulk data analysis. Add to this that Florida DOGE implemented these reforms on just a six-figure budget. Rarely have government initiatives accomplished so much in such a cost-effective manner.
None of these accomplishments would’ve been possible without the power of new AI tools and data-analysis technologies provided by three partners: Echelon, Vulcan Technologies, and DigiBuild. While varying in scope, each was instrumental in identifying waste and abuse during the audits, leading to the most significant reforms in Florida.
Echelon was used to analyze spending and waste in the Lee County school district. Florida DOGE identified up to $80 million in potential savings through contract reviews and more than $8 million in savings by eliminating 170 unnecessary positions spanning 30 departments. Programs like this can restore public schools to their proper mission rather than serving as a patronage scheme for overeducated administrative staff.
Vulcan Technologies was utilized to conduct top-to-bottom payment transaction audits across the state. It was so effective that local governments throughout Florida are implementing it to find opportunities for savings. In a time when property taxes are a dominant issue among voters, AI and DOGE principles are bridging the gap, fulfilling the public’s demand for making cuts and providing the services local governments owe their citizens.
Many other states have similar programs. Texas’s Office of Regulatory Efficiency has generated over 400 reductions in administrative code, and Oklahoma’s DOGE office has produced over $19 million in cuts. But Florida’s success remains unparalleled, and SLI’s State DOGE Playbook explains how to emulate its success.

A UK Biobank study involving over 470,000 people found that individuals who reported using sunscreen more frequently had substantially higher risk of multiple skin cancers — even after researchers accounted for major confounding factors like age, sex, skin type, tanning ability, sunburn history, sunlamp use, and time spent outdoors.
The findings are worrisome:
• MELANOMA: +292% higher risk (RR = 3.92)
• BASAL CELL CARCINOMA: +140% higher risk (RR = 2.40)
• SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA: +126% higher risk (RR = 2.26)
The researchers categorized sun protection habits from “never/rarely” to “always” and found the strongest associations among the most frequent sunscreen users.
In other words: the more sunscreen use reported, the higher the observed skin cancer risk.
This was an observational study, meaning it cannot prove sunscreen directly caused cancer. However, the study was also not a simplistic comparison of random sunscreen users versus non-users. Researchers statistically accounted for many of the biggest known skin cancer risk factors — including skin color, hair color, tanning ability, childhood sunburns, tanning bed exposure, outdoor time, age, and sex.
Even after all of that, the association remained.
Many chemical sunscreens contain hormone disruptors that are rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream, including compounds like oxybenzone, octocrylene, and homosalate.
Some formulations have also been found contaminated with benzene, a known human carcinogen.
And then there is the vitamin D issue. Sunlight is how the human body produces vitamin D, a hormone precursor involved in immune regulation, cellular repair, inflammation control, and cancer defense. People who never receive sunlight exposure without sunscreen are likely to become vitamin D deficient.
That does not mean people should recklessly burn in the sun. Sunburns are clearly harmful. Aim for sensible sunlight exposure — spending enough time in the sun reap the benefits without reaching the point of burning. If you’ll be out in the sun for hours on end during mid summer, consider opting for zinc-based (mineral) sunscreens rather than heavily absorbed chemical formulations.
The takeaway is not to fear sunlight, but to respect it.

I have had over two dozen skin cancers (basal cell and squamus only) cut off by doctors and more frozen off for over 30 years. I used to wear sunscreen every day. I put it on when getting out of the shower. I wore a hat whenever I went outside. I joked with my dermatologist that my name should be on his exam room. I saw him every 4 months and always had something to cut off.
Then I got the idea the sun was good. I quit wearing any sun screen whatsoever, no hat or sun glasses. I took daily walks in the sun for about 45 minutes. I haven’t had anything to remove for almost 3 years. I know the scaly, near-scab of pre-cancerous tissue. It’s not happening any more. My experience is entirely in line with this finding.

Story at a Glance:
•Skin cancers are by far the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, so to prevent them, the public is constantly told to avoid the sun. However, while the relatively benign skin cancers are caused by sun exposure, the ones responsible for most skin cancer deaths are due to a lack of sunlight.
•This is unfortunate because sunlight is arguably the most important nutrient for the human body, as avoiding it doubles one’s rate of dying and significantly increases their risk of cancer.
•A strong case can be made that this dynamic was a result of the dermatology profession (with the help of a top PR firm) rebranding themselves to skin cancer fighters, something which allowed them to become one of the highest paying medical specialities in existence. Unfortunately, despite the billions that is put into fighting it each year, there has been no substantial change in the number of skin cancer deaths.
•In this article, we will also discuss the dangers of the conventional skin cancer treatments, the most effective ways for treating and preventing skin cancer, and some of the best strategies for having a healthy and nourishing relationship with the sun.
Note: in February’s open thread, I presented some potential articles, and since this topic was one of the most requested, I have spent the last month working on it.
Ever since I was a little child something seemed off about the fact everyone would get hysterical about how I needed to avoid sunlight and always wear sunscreen whenever we had an outdoor activity—so to the best of my ability I just didn’t comply. As I got older, I started to notice that beyond the sun feeling really good, anytime I was in the sun, the veins under my skin that were exposed to the sun would dilate, which I took as a sign the body craved sunlight and wanted it to draw into the circulation. Later still, I learned a pioneering researcher found significant alternations would occur in the health of people who wore glasses that blocked specific light spectrums (e.g., most glass blocks UV light) from entering the most transparent part of the body that could be treated by giving them specialized glasses which did not block that spectrum from entering.
Note: all the above touches upon one of my favorite therapeutic modalities—ultraviolet blood irradiation, which will be the focus of an upcoming article.
Later, when I became a medical student (at which point I was familiar with the myriad of benefits of sunlight), I was struck by how neurotic dermatologists were about avoiding sunlight—for instance, in addition to hearing every patient I saw there be lectured about the importance of avoiding sunlight, through my classmates, I learned of dermatologists in the northern latitudes (which had low enough sunlight people suffered from seasonal affective disorder) effectively require their students to wear sunscreen and clothing which covered most of their body while indoors. At this point my perspective on the issue changed to “this crusade against the sun is definitely coming from the dermatologists” and “what on earth is wrong with these people?” A few years ago I learned the final piece of the puzzle through Robert Yoho MD and his book Butchered by Healthcare.

The Plant

The first-of-a-kind cost for the Natrium demonstration plant will include the reactor design and licensing, codes and methods development, fuel development and qualification, and the design, construction and operation of two supporting facilities: the Natrium Fuel Fabrication Facility and Sodium Test and Fill Facility. Four cities in Wyoming were considered for the demonstration reactor that were affected by the closure of fossil-fuel power plants: Gillette, Kemmerer, Glenrock and Rock Springs.[7] PacificCorp does business in Wyoming as Rocky Mountain Power and has a coal power plant in each of the candidate locations.[8] It was announced November 16, 2021 that Kemmerer had been selected.[9]
In 2024, TerraPower selected Kemmerer as the site for a 345 MWe Natrium reactor. The company submitted their application for a nuclear construction permit for Kemmerer Unit 1 to the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on March 28, 2024.[4]
The power station is designed to consist of two adjacent parts: an "energy island" and a "nuclear island".[10] In June 2024 the site broke ground, beginning construction of the facility's Sodium Test & Fill Facility.[10][11] Cost estimates were $4 billion, with the DOE supplying half, and Gates contributing $1 billion.[12]
In April 2025, TerraPower notified the British Office for Nuclear Regulation that it intends to enter the Generic Design Assessment process for its Natrium reactor[13] and the company announced in June 2026 that it had begun Step 1 of the assessment.[14]
In October 2025 the Kemmerer project completed its final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), finding no adverse impacts.[15] The NRC issued the construction permit for Kemmerer Unit 1 on March 4, 2026.[16] It was the first construction permit for a non-LWR issued by the NRC.[16] It is the United States' first utility-scale advanced Natrium nuclear reactor, using a 345-megawatt sodium-cooled reactor. Reactor construction began in April 2026.[17][18][19]
In January 2026, Meta announced an agreement to fund two Natrium reactors to be built by 2032, and to give Meta the rights to electricity produced by up to six more Natrium reactors planned to enter operation by 2035.[18]
In March 2026, TerraPower Isotopes announced plans to build a $450 million, 250,000-square-foot facility in Philadelphia for the production of actinium-225, a radioactive isotope used in radiation treatments for diseases such as leukemia and melanoma. The project will receive a $7 million grant through the Pennsylvania Strategic Investments to Enhance Sites program and a $3 million Pennsylvania First grant.[20]
Funding and management
TerraPower is partly funded by the US Department of Energy/DOE and Los Alamos National Laboratory.[21] One of TerraPower's primary investors is Bill Gates, via the Cascade Investment. Others include Charles River Ventures and Khosla Ventures, which reportedly invested $35 million in 2010.
TerraPower is led by chief executive officer Chris Levesque. In December 2011 India's Reliance Industries bought a minority stake through one of its subsidiaries and its Chairman Mukesh Ambani joined the board. Other TerraPower participants include[22] scientists and engineers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Fast Flux Test Facility, Microsoft, and various universities, as well as managers from Siemens, Areva NP, the ITER project, Ango Systems Corporation and DOE.
SK Group agreed to invest $250 million in 2022. The round was co-led by SK Inc and SK Innovation and Gates. DOE gave TerraPower cost-share funding through the Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program (ARDP) to test, license and build an advanced reactor within seven years.

Drone warfare is at the forefront of every nation's developing defense technology and the Trump administration is utilizing private sector "incubators" to bring America's best and brightest together to protect the country, including one new company's groundbreaking product to counter malign drones within seconds.
"We are acting as an incubator, as a catalyst for all of those potential solutions in the private sector…a competition for the best athlete to find out not only what drones we need, because we're not going to be buying drones from other countries, we're going to be building them here for our war fighters, the first-person view drones (FPV) that are used to attack our enemies, but also for the defensive measures," Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, told Just The News.
One such anti-drone technology that has emerged is Space Eyes' Morpheus Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) that combines advanced radio-frequency signal processing, artificial intelligence, and quantum-resistant security to detect, classify, and neutralize airborne threats within seconds.
"We just hosted one of the largest sporting events we've ever seen in the world with FIFA and that (drone warfare) was at the forefront," Derek Gordon, President of National Security at Space Eyes told Just The News.
"But a few years ago, the countermeasures were not what they are now. Criminals are always trying to be a step ahead of law enforcement in their techniques, and the US government as a whole spends an exorbitant amount of resources on countering something that costs the enemy a few dollars to make. So, without the partnership of private industry, this problem wouldn't be solved," Gordon said.
Funding the fight against drones
Exorbitant resources are currently hanging in the balance. On July 22, the House of Representatives narrowly passed its $1.15 trillion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal 2027, authorizing Defense Department programs and related activities. The Senate version remains stalled after a failed cloture vote.
The same day, the House advanced a reconciliation budget resolution with roughly $60 billion in additional defense funding, mainly for Iran conflict costs and munitions. It falls far short of the administration’s $350 billion request and faces an uncertain Senate path. The NDAA authorizes spending but does not appropriate funds.
"We just have to make sure our defense department is adequately funded, and it's funded for the right things. We have to make sure we're not fighting the last war and end some of the contracts we put in place 10 or 15 years ago, and make sure we have a robust defense against drones both in the battlefield and at home," Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-Wis., told Just The News.
Grothman also made a suggestion to close the gaps between federal funding and drone attacks in towns across America. "I think this is something that would be a good thing for Mike Johnson to look at. Provide some assets or perhaps to fund some drones for local governments as well."

The soft launch of drone warfare emerged during the Russia-Ukraine war. Both sides have heavily relied on drone warfare for reconnaissance, targeting enemy positions, and conducting direct attacks.
Ukrainian forces pioneered the use of inexpensive FPV drones for precision strikes, while Russia has deployed Iranian-made Shahed drones for long-range assaults. This technology has transformed the battlefield, enabling low-cost attrition and reducing the need for manned aircraft in many scenarios. FPV drones are "first-person view" drones, remote-controlled quadcopters that stream real-time video from an onboard camera directly to pilot goggles.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, nations including Israel, Iran, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mali, Myanmar, India and Pakistan have employed drone warfare in conflicts ranging from the Gaza war and Iran-U.S. clashes to African civil wars and border skirmishes, using one-way attack drones, FPV models and other systems for surveillance, precision strikes and low-cost attrition.
Additionally, during the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, Hamas used drones primarily for surveillance, dropping explosives and grenades on positions, and some one-way attacks, alongside paragliders, rockets, and the main ground invasion that killed at least 1,200 people and took 251 hostages.
Fury from the sky abroad…but also here at home
Drone warfare can be used not only on the battlefield, but also here on U.S. soil to carry out mass-casualty events.
In June, the FBI thwarted an alleged plot to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House with explosive-laden drones and snipers targeting officials and attendees. Authorities learned of the scheme on June 10 and arrested multiple suspects in a multi-state operation. The event, attended by President Donald Trump and others, proceeded without incident.
That catastrophe was foiled, but as Texas State Senator Phil King told Just The News, "What stops somebody from sitting in the parking lot at the local airport and trying to fly a drone into a 747 as it takes off?" King is a former police officer and serves as Chairman of the Texas Senate's Select Committee on Homeland and Border Security, keeps a keen eye on drone warfare and technology and how it's utilized on the southern U.S. border in Texas.
He highlighted how some drones, like the Griff Aviation 300, have a maximum load capacity of nearly 500 pounds. However, to transport deadly drugs like fentanyl, that capacity is hardly needed. One pound of fentanyl is roughly 450,000 mg, which equates to 225,000 lethal doses. It's estimated to be 100 times more potent than morphine.
King warned further about the public safety aspect of drone warfare. "What stops them from flying into that football stadium?" King queried. "I am really shocked at the amount of threat risk that we have there, and I don't think there's going to be any one way to deal with it. I think you're going to see a lot of Skunk Works. There's a lot of creativity going on in law enforcement, local law enforcement agencies."
"How would America change if someone built a few drones by downloading the information off the net on their 3D printer or just going to the store and buying them, program them with some kind of explosive or chemical or something, and at the same minute just flew them into three high school football games," King continued. "America would change forever."
Prison drone drops
Authorities report a growing use of drones to smuggle contraband into prisons. Unmanned aircraft have dropped packages containing drugs, cellphones, weapons and other banned items over facility walls in multiple states and countries.
Prison officials say the deliveries undermine security and fuel violence inside. Agencies are responding with detection technology, netting and restricted airspace rules to counter the threat, but no doubt as the technology progresses, the countermeasures must also.

National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya said the Trump administration’s newly announced ban on federally funded gain-of-function research represents a significant shift in federal biomedical policy, adding that the agency is committed to greater transparency, open scientific debate and a new approach to pandemic preparedness.
Speaking in an interview Thursday with the Just the News, No Noise TV program, Bhattacharya called the new approach “an absolutely vital policy.”
“The United States will never again support research that has a chance of causing catastrophic human harm,” he said. “We’ve been working for a year and a half on getting the details right, getting the incentives right. I’m so excited to be able to announce that policy. It’s going to make Americans safer going forward.”
His comments came after the Trump administration announced a government-wide policy banning federal funding for certain high-risk gain-of-function research and expanding oversight of experiments involving dangerous pathogens, such as some research conducted overseas with U.S. taxpayer funding.
Trump administration officials said the policy was intended to reduce the risk of laboratory-related accidents while maintaining support for biomedical research under tighter safeguards.
Many U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that a laboratory-related incident in China, such as a leak, sparked the COVID pandemic. Other entities have argued that the lab leak theory has not yet been fully confirmed.
Bhattacharya said transparency would be central to the NIH under his leadership.
“Science requires you to say, ‘Here’s what I’ve done. Here’s the data. Please check me,’” he said.
“That kind of transparency is absolutely vital to science,” Bhattacharya added. “What I saw during the pandemic was censorship instead of science, and that is the death of any scientific culture.”
He said the agency had turned a page from its previous approach.
“The page is turned,” Bhattacharya said. “The current NIH will not take the Fifth on what we’re doing on science. What we’ll do is we will say clearly, 'here’s what we’ve done. Here are the data. Please come check our work.'"
Bhattacharya also said discussions were underway within the Trump administration about developing a new pandemic response “playbook” going forward.
“What I have seen has filled me with hope that the pandemic playbook that we come out with will be a very different pandemic playbook that led to the lockdowns, the school closures, the vaccine mandates, and all the rest,” he said.
On vaccine safety, Bhattacharya said the NIH was establishing a new research center.
“We are establishing a vaccine injury center, so that we can honestly study vaccine injury instead of gaslighting patients to say that, ‘Oh you don’t have any problems at all,’” he said.
“We have to take the science around vaccines seriously,” he added. “That means honestly looking at the benefits, which are many, many benefits for many, many of the vaccines, but also honestly looking at the harms. And if we don’t do that, then we are not painting a real, true picture.”
Asked about ivermectin, Bhattacharya said he was not taking an official position on the anti-parasite drug that was used to treat COVID, but he thinks that scientific debate should not have been discouraged.
“My mind is open on this,” he said.
“Demonizing the people who liked it never made sense to me,” Bhattacharya said. “It was an open scientific conversation that should have been embraced.”
He added, “The key thing, as NIH director, is to open up the scientific debate. Let scientists have the fights that we always have, so that we can come to better, more rigorous, more certain conclusions."
Bhattacharya also said records documenting former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci’s thinking during the pandemic should be made public if they were created using government resources.
“It is a document that is a historical document that, for the sake of transparency, belongs to the American people,” he said.
Bhattacharya also criticized Fauci’s public messaging during the COVID pandemic.
“The sin here was that he told the American public things with a degree of confidence that was not justified by the scientific evidence,” he said. “We could have had instead a more humble communication about the scientific uncertainty from a top figure like Tony Fauci, and then what would have happened is a scientific discussion and debate that would have led to better policy.”

Dandelion Shows Promise Against Cancer. Human Trials Are Needed
Lab studies show dandelion extract triggered death in a variety of cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.
When an older woman with terminal leukemia asked to be discharged from the hospital, her doctors assumed they'd never see her again. Two weeks later, she walked back in. Blood tests revealed that her cancer markers had dropped by 50 percent. The only thing she had done differently was drink tea made from a common backyard weed.
Her hospital roommate, hearing the story, began drinking the tea herself. Blood tests showed her cancer markers dropped 25 percent.
One person having that experience might be a coincidence. Two people getting the same result was something else. Dr. Caroline Hamm, an oncologist who had been treating both patients, picked up the phone and called a biochemist she had been working with on other cancer research.
Research has found that dandelion root extract (DRE) can selectively destroy multiple cancer cell types while sparing healthy cells in laboratory and animal studies. Concurrently, a number of terminal cancer patients—people who had run out of options and had nothing to lose—began taking dandelion root on their own. In several documented cases, their cancer became undetectable within weeks or months. Years later, many remain cancer-free.
The science on dandelion has not yet been tested in a completed human clinical trial. However, preclinical evidence and the patient stories that have accumulated alongside it are difficult to dismiss.
The Research Begins
In 2011, Siyaram Pandey, a researcher and professor of biochemistry at the University of Windsor in Ontario, launched a formal investigation into dandelion root as a possible non-toxic treatment for cancer.
The project was seeded with a significant donation from the parents of Kevin Couvillon, who lost his battle with leukemia in 2010, at the age of 26. Couvillon’s immune system had been severely compromised by chemotherapy, and he died as a result of multiple infections. His parents, having witnessed the devastating toll of the treatment firsthand, wanted to fund research into non-toxic alternatives.
Pandey was initially skeptical. His previous research focused on purified plant compounds with known anticancer properties. When Hamm contacted him about dandelion root, he had reservations about how to test it effectively, especially since he did not know how the patients’ tea had been grown, picked, and processed. His solution was to make his own extract: controlled, reproducible, testable.
He did not expect much from the first experiment.
However, “It was just killing those leukemia cells left and right—it was unbelievable,” Pandey told The Epoch Times. “The students kept repeating it—and we don’t celebrate anything unless we see that it is safe for healthy cells.”
“We had normal cells and cancerous cells. Dandelion root extract was absolutely selective—and that was the moment for me to change my thought about herbal or plant extracts, 180 degrees.”

Acting director of national intelligence says leadership transition will begin Monday after Trump talks

Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte said Saturday that the leadership transition at the office will begin Monday, reversing reports of earlier plans for him to remain in the role alongside his successor, Jay Clayton, for a transition period.
“After speaking with the President Trump and Jay Clayton, we have decided the DNI transition will take place this coming Monday,” Pulte wrote on X, adding, “I am eternally grateful to President Trump for the opportunity to serve as Director of National Intelligence, while he completed historic declassifications and we right sized the ODNI.”
Pulte also praised Clayton, writing, “I have no doubt that Jay will do a tremendous job. I have offered Jay my complete and total support as he transitions to take over this incredible agency!”
CNN reported earlier this week that Pulte had been expected to remain at the office for at least two weeks after Clayton was sworn in, according to a source familiar with the plans.
Multiple sources told CNN that Pulte had personally urged Trump to allow him to stay on longer, arguing that he had not yet completed his work leading the intelligence agency.
Clayton, who was confirmed by the Senateearlier this week, is expected to be sworn in next week, a source told CNN.
Clayton steps into his new job inheriting a diminished office whose authortity and relevance are at a historic low point. Pulte, a combative and controversial housing executive with no prior national security experience, has made sharp staffing cuts to the intelligence community and played a role in declassifying certain documents related to Trump’s false claims of election fraud in 2020.
Pulte traveled with the president aboard Air Force One on Friday from Camp David to Bedminster, New Jersey, where the president is spending the weekend.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who recommended Clayton for the job and helped shape Pulte’s time in office, was seen chatting with the president before both departed Camp David.
A central objective of Pulte’s short-term tenure was declassifying sensitive materials regarding past election and amplify Trump’s long-standing false claims of voter fraud.
Pulte did accelerate sharp staffing cuts that Trump ordered, and that critics argued would hamstring the intelligence community, but there is broad bipartisan agreement that the office had become too large. Some Republican Senate Intelligence Committee staffers, who had been concerned initially over Pulte’s appointment and lack of experience, later said they were pleased with the work he had done to cut some of that bloat.

The FBI in recent weeks has seized voting data in two battleground states where President Donald Trump lost reelection in 2020. If the FBI takes its effort to relitigate the 2020 presidential election to Milwaukee County, federal authorities will be able to figure out how tens of thousands of residents there voted because of a state law that sets Wisconsin apart from other battleground states.
The law requires poll workers to affix a voter number to all absentee ballots counted in a central counting facility, which exist in Milwaukee and more than three dozen other Wisconsin municipalities.
And because Milwaukee election officials have not yet destroyed the 2020 presidential election ballots, those voter numbers could be matched against poll book information to determine which candidate voters picked that year if such voting documents are seized.
So far, there has not been any movement in Wisconsin by federal authorities on this front.
“In this state, Wisconsinites have a constitutional right to cast a secret ballot, and that’s something we take really seriously — even Kathy and I don’t always talk about who we vote for," Evers told the Journal Sentinel in a statement, referring to his wife.

"So, the idea that the state should somehow turn over sensitive voter information and documents that could enable the federal government to know how Wisconsinites voted and who they voted for is wrong, and we’ll continue fighting to protect Wisconsinites’ right to vote by secret ballot."

The Democratic governor said he would sign a repeal of the state law that requires absentee ballots in central counting facilities to include a voter identification number given clerks' support for doing so.
But Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said he wants to keep the law in place as an added safeguard.
"It’s important we don’t eliminate any law that will prevent double voting or allow anyone here illegally to cast a vote," Vos said in a statement.
"Our number one priority should be keeping our elections secure and ensuring our citizens trust the system."
Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu did not respond to questions about the matter.
State and local election officials were on alert Monday after the FBI issued a grand jury subpoena for voting information in Maricopa County, Arizona − the second battleground state where federal authorities have compelled the release of records related to the 2020 election.
In late January, federal investigators seized hundreds of boxes related to the 2020 election in Fulton County, Georgia.
Election officials are bracing for the probe to expand to Milwaukee, where Trump has repeatedly leveled baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 election − including on the night of the election, when it became clear Trump would lose.

Absentee voting skyrocketed in the 2020 presidential election because of the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, which pushed people to avoid public places. In Milwaukee, nearly 180,000 people voted absentee.
Following Trump's loss, his campaign paid for a recount in the liberal Dane and Milwaukee counties and unsuccessfully sought to throw out all absentee ballots cast in those counties, which would have overturned the election result.
Trump continues to falsely claim he won Wisconsin's 2020 presidential contest, despite court rulings and audits showing otherwise.

America has a strange habit of waiting until its leaders are gone before deciding they were worthy of honor.
We name buildings after them. We place their portraits on walls. We speak about their courage, accomplishments, and place in history. By then, the person being honored is no longer here to see it.
I do not believe we should wait.
That is why I sponsored the legislation renaming Palm Beach International Airport as President Donald J. Trump International Airport.
President Trump is the first president in American history to call Florida home. Palm Beach County is not simply a place he visits or a state he carried in an election. It is his community. It is where he built his life, raised his family, created jobs, and returned after serving his first term in the White House.
His connection to this county is real, lasting, and unlike that of any other president.
His influence on my own life is personal, too.
President Trump inspired me to run for office because he spoke with common sense, stood by his convictions, and challenged an establishment that had stopped listening to everyday Americans. Watching him made me realize that regular people cannot remain on the sidelines. We have to step forward, serve, and make a difference.
People may disagree with President Trump’s policies, style, or political movement. But no serious person can deny his impact.
He transformed the Republican Party, reshaped American politics, survived impeachments, investigations, prosecutions, attempts to remove him from the ballot, and an assassin’s bullet. He then returned to the presidency with a national mandate.

Ukraine Terrorist Bombs Moscow Upscale Restaurant Killing Three

From independent reporting on the ground, CTH has established an upscale Italian dining restaurant in Moscow, Balzi Rossi, was hosting a private dining event (at least in most of the facility) when a female Ukrainian terrorist attempted to gain entry carrying a bomb.
The woman terrorist was intercepted by a security member and denied entry to the facility;however, during the stop the woman detonated the IED which was filled with nails and ball bearings. The bomber and the security guard were killed instantly as well as one of the people attending the venue.
Dozens more people were injuredby the shrapnel, nails and ball bearings. The security guard is being heralded as a hero for stopping what would have been a much more deadly attack. Reports are now beginning to surface on western media outlets.
MOSCOW – A bomb detonated at a restaurant Saturday in central Moscow killing at least three people, including the bomber, Russian state media said, citing local officials.
At least 21 people were also injured when the explosive device detonated at the restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square in Moscow, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said, quoted by Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.
An unidentified woman who attempted to carry the explosive device into the restaurant died in the blast as did a security guard and a patron, the news agency said.
Ria Novosti reported the woman attempted to smuggle the bomb into the establishmentbut the security guard refused to let her in before the bomb exploded.
The attack was still being investigated, the Moscow Investigative Committee told the news agency. (more)
Ukraine has been using female terrorists to carry bombs targeting Russians for several years. However, the target of this specific bombing in Moscow is not yet identified.
In April 2023, a Ukraine woman carried a bomb into a café in Saint Petersburg, Russia, killing military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky. More recently on June 29th in Monaco Ukrainian terrorist Anastasiia Berezovska, working for Ukraine intelligence, used a parcel bomb to target Vadym Iermolaiev.
The attack today follows a similar pattern.
